NYPD Arrest Man Found in Subway with Sodium Cyanide

blogs.wsj.com

A man dressed like a subway worker found walking the tracks with road flares and a container marked “sodium cyanide” early Thursday morning turned out to be a suicidal college student, and not a terrorist as authorities originally feared, police said.

Metropolitan Transportation Authority workers riding in the tunnel to pick up garbage spotted Aaron Fetto, 20, dressed in a hardhat, reflective vest and yellow, knee-length boots around 5:30 a.m. walking in the tunnel south of Bowling Green heading toward Brooklyn, said Paul Browne, the New York Police Department’s spokesman.

I am willing to bet a million dollars on the NYPD and Government using this as A reason for putting in the naked body scanners. They are going to say that the body scanners would have stopped this.

Personally I would not be suspicious about this bit this makes me wonder

"Inside Fetto’s backpack, detectives found two one-liter bottles of water, five road flares, a lighter and a quart-sized can with a “sodium cyanide” label."

I am sorry but who the hell labels something sodium cyanide?? I mean any more obvious? also who did he go with the workers??

"He wanted to find some isolated alcove within the subway system where he hoped his body wouldn’t be found.”

Then why fallow the workers? I do not think that those workers would take him to a private place. and why did he not simply go into the woods or something?

Personally I am just not sure. I mean this makes no seance to me at all.

also I am not saying the Gov't did this in order to get the body scanners put it.(I, however would not put it pass them). I just know they will use this to their advantage

If you'll notice, the Government has not been using very destructive false flags anymore, but rather keeping it to "catching terrorists in the act", thanks to the Patriot Act. So this guy, the Zazi guy from NYC, Jihad Jane, and the Detroit Bomber. However they seem to work for them, because they are still in power, and still taking away our civil liberties.

There is no way anybody can spin this to justify body scanners. You cannot outfit the NYC MTA stations with body scanners, it is absolutely impossible and NYers would revolt. The NYC MTA is having a hard enough time keeping stations staffed and their budget is way in the red.

I will grant that something does not add up here. Sodium cyanide? Where do you even get a jar of it?? What did he plan to do with it? Was that what he wanted to use to off himself?

Ah well, at least they are reporting it as it is... a suicidal kid doing something stupid instead of "Jihad Emokid".

I have been doing My internship at a Sheriffs Department...

You would be surprised at the things that you would have thought are conspiracy worthy when all it really is a crackhead/pothead ranting at the mouth... twisting things and speaking everything but the truth.

Myself and the Corporal I was riding with brought in about 30 people wanted on warrants for some serious and many minor offenses. The things these people said, and how upset they were that the Government is after them... it was bogus. I READ the offense they committed and the actions committed were in fact done by them and were not fabricated... especially it was obvious when there is pictures and evidence to back it up. If the criminal justice system were more rehabilitative, I would be all up on arresting more people of minor offenses, but I fear it does more harm than good to socially unacceptable people (behaviors).

So to me I seriously doubt that this is a "plot" to get full body scanners. but if it is... awesome.

The reasons criminals are so dangerous isnt because of how violent they are... its because how delusional and distant they are from the real world.

There is plenty of real conspiracies out there... but I doubt this is one of them.

There is an eerily similar case from eight years ago. I wonder if somebody is following a pre-written script.

Back in early 2002, a guy named Joseph Kenopka, 25, aka "Dr. Chaos" was arrested after he had amassed a cache of sodium and potassium cyanide, which he stored in a storage closet in a downtown Chicago subway tunnel, where he lived for months. Aided by Chicago-area teens, Konopka lived in the subway after he jumped bail in Wisconsin for committing acts of violence and sabotage, targeting energy, telecommunications and air navigation systems(1998-2001) with the gang of juveniles he led, the "Realm of Chaos."

maybee because thats what it contains ? i dont know which planet you come from - but here - labeling the contents of chemical containers is standard practice

here = an example

also who did he go with the workers??

because to have runaway / attempted to evade them / ignored them would have been even more suspicious

if you are dressed in correct / semi correct PPE kit and walking down the subway - people who look at you ASSUME you are legit

if tyou act in an abberant manner or panick when spotted - they isnstantly get suspicious - but if you act like you belong - they assume you do

Personally I am just not sure. I mean this makes no seance to me at all.

i love it - why EXACTLY do you expect the actions of a man engaged in an alleged suicide attempt to make sense ?

In NYC? The busiest subway system outside of Tokyo? Will never, and could never happen. Not sure if you've ever ridden the NYC subway at rush hour, but any such scanner system would be an impossibility. Also, the people here simply wouldn't stand for it. Remember, this is the city where 9/11 happened and I can promise you, the citizens here have no desire for such a thing and would stop it. There's enough citizens here with the clout to keep it from happening - not that it would even be possible to implement.

Then why fallow the workers? I do not think that those workers would take him to a private place. and why did he not simply go into the woods or something?

He wasn't following the workers, he was walking along the tracks - they said south of Bowling Green, which means he was going under the longest Manhattan/Brooklyn tunnel, and was probably hoping to off himself in the remotest part of the longest tunnel in the entire subway system. While walking the tracks down there, the workers came by on a service train and must have seen seen him and realized he didn't look quite right.

Why didn't he go into the woods? In New York City? I mean, you have Central Park or Prospect Park, but even the remotest parts of those places are hardly empty or totally secluded.

Edit: Sodium cyanide is used in collecting jars for entomologists. Kid's in college, if he is in biology or has a friend in biology, it would be easy to get the stuff...and the jar would probably be labeled.
