Gonna have to check out some of these vids when I get on a decent computer! I love Rush but I've got to admit that I never really moved on from
2112. I've got 2112, A farewell to Kins and Power Windows (vinyl of course!) but I haven't really given the second two a proper listen yet :shk:
I've got an old Tele I can put it one. From the looks of things at ATS we had better get ready soon.
By the way I just finally noticed that the end of time date when written in numbers is actually 12 2112.:bnghd: Or 2112 12 depending on where you
live....
I know I already made a comment in this post about 2112 and to hell with 2012..lol..maybe it's the same thing!!!
Signals, you should have criminal charges brought against you for not inviting me.
Start a Rush thread without me, the audacity. Crikey, and I thought you were a friend.
All kidding aside, thanks for the trailer to the flick. I hadn't known that was even being made so I will be looking forward to that. I had also
never heard that alternate version of Tom Sawyer so thanks for that also. Limelight also was performed, IIRC, at those shows and was changed before it
was recorded. I'd like to hear that.
Thanks for lettin' me know about the upcoming movie, haven't heard a whisper on any mainstream media. Been a fan since 2112, got it when it came out
and STILL jam and play air drums and guitar every time I listen. I was sittin' on my front porch smokin' a cigar yesterday when a car load of
teenagers drove by blastin' their music. I really didn't mind cause it was YYZ !! I thought to myself, PLEASE let this be a sign that rap is dying.
We can only hope. Gave'em a thumbs up as they went by.
Nature has some new plague
To run in our streets
History some new wrinkle
We are doomed to repeat
Fugitives at the bedroom door
Lovers pause to find an open store
Rain is burning on the forest floor
And the red tide kisses the shore
This is not a false alarm
This is not a test
Stay out of the sun
It only burns my skin
Sky full of poison
And the atmosphere's too thin
Bless the sun, the rain no more
River running like an open sore
Black wind falling to the ocean floor
And the red tide washes ashore
THIS IS NOT A FALSE ALARM
THIS IS NOT A TEST
Nowhere we can fly away
Nowhere we can rest
The party is disrupted by
An uninvited guest
Deadline approaches
For the weary land
It used to be something
But we let it run down in our hands
Too late for debate, too bad to ignore
Quiet rebellion leads to open war
Bring a sea-change to the factory floor
As the red tide covers the shore
Now's the time to turn the tide
Now's the time to fight
Let us not go gently
To the endless winter night
Now's the time to make the time
While hope is still in sight
Let us not go gently
To the endless winter night
Yeah..I agree. I'm liking the new stuff too from what I've heard. Sounds a lot like they are returning to the sound from the early 90's in like
Counterparts and Test for Echo.
After a couple of listens to those new tunes I am thankful for the end of the Geddy choir. It was overused and becoming a bit tiresome to my ears.
The lead section of Caravan is pretty sick. I'm a little curious if these versions will be the ones on the album or if they will get changed up when
they get to recording it after the tour. These seem like finished product but one never knows.
Saw some good reviews of the movie. Looking forward to the DVD and all the extras.
