Well for me this really isnt about free speech. Its about stock and Beck is no 3# on the radio. If I want to invest in a political mouthpiece outlet I can donate to some group or something. If Becks ratings tank then it would be good bizz maybe to get out simply because the numbers dont call for the cost. Becks listeners are not going to tune out over this and thats who we are targeting in advertising.

It's easy, don't buy mass produced product in this day and age. Also, let's also look at a time in this country when people were paid a living wage, had benefits, and a good job in factories all over this country not more than 30 to 40 years ago.

Yes, I agree. Even though we are buying second hand, it does nothing to perpetuate products that are of quality, and an affordable price being manufactured in the US. Purchasing used, not only helps support Goodwill, but, it also keeps people from producing new products on American soil. Yep, I'm guilty.

I'm not picking on you but you can actually do research and buy products that are made without any involvement in sweatshop labor. It's quite easy now that we have the internet. It's a misconception that you'd be homeless and naked if you didn't use slave labor.

I don't consider what you have said picking on me, because we have similar lifestyle choices when it comes to making purchases.

I still think it is ok for Apple to show disdain by ditching Beck.

Well then, unless you have Apple stock, you can still enjoy your Beck, and have nothing to worry about.

Apple will be ok, too.

People won't stop buying Apple products because they dumped Beck, either.

let apple boycott. They'll advetise on some other that is polishing the knob ofthis administration. Who needs them. Theyll advertise on a network that will the bash the tea parties calling them racist and violent as a whole when they have no video of them acting like that. But they won't say anything about the violence that is going on in Arizona. They were throwing bottles at the cops and smearig swastika symbols on Capitol buildings.

Democrats and republican are seperate parties with the same agenda.
They are trying to turn th people against each other.

if you check the stock market the stock of apple went down today.

Consumers are rebelling against apple trying to quash free speech from a real patriot like Glenn Beck. Fox is the leader in world news and truth. This can be seen in their ratings. Compared to cnn and MSNBC, FOX doesnt beat the competition it DOMINATES THE COMPETITION!

Apple is going to crumble if its not going to be able to reach main street america.

Levi Strauss never did recover from its boycott, its witholding of support that was healthy, of the Boy Scouts of America because they wouldnt approve gay scoutmasters. Thought it was going to be some earth shattering statment for change. They ended up having to do a lot of damage control and backstepping. I have my personal feelings but am trying to keep this in a business frame. Strauss became who they were by making good wears and they forgot that and just insulted the heck out of its customers over a political statement. A statment that amounted to coercion.

I am sure it has nothing to do with having Chen's place raided and computers siezed. No way any tech fans would be turned off by that. I am sure it is because they stopped sponsoring Beck...how long ago? Yeah that makes more sense.

I will watch the market, and wouldn't be surprised to see the stock shoot up, once people realize they no longer supporting the likes of Glen Beck.

No offense, but that was the sort of news propaganda my old fart father watched until he was 90 and died.

Well just think if only 1/2 of Becks listners would from here on out refuse to by Apple products. How would Apple make up the loss? And if it gets bad Rush, Shawn and Mark will join in to represent a FORMIDABLE counter boycott. Not to mention many others.

People can change a news channel at whim, if they don't hear what they like.

If they want to purchase a toy, which is what all electronics are, anyway, they are going to buy the toy that pleases them most.

It doesn't really matter who is boycotting a news channel in other words.

If Apple has a product people want to buy, it doesn't matter if they support Glen Beck or not.

Hay again I am just trying to give my opinion on business.

But really what about Glenns free speach and those that listen to him? None of the other conservitive big guys are going to toss Glenn under the bus over this. Fox may even did its heals in lest they look like crap cred in front of thier people.

But if Apple thinks this is a good move for sales then by all means. I dont feel good for them here myself.

Well this is what I am trying to say here. Beck fans wont tune anyway but they may stop buying Apple. And it is not wise to underestimate the frimness of the liberals or the conservatives right now in a thing like this.

Apple boycotting Fox was probably just a smart marketing move. I doubt if most Fox and/ or Glen Beck watchers have enough intelligence to operate high tech gadgets other than an TVremote and a microwave.

It's not that they ridicule the small news guys it's just that all of the reports on this seem to be the same story or blog entry verbatim. It's suspicious to say the least.

Things that surprise me are the claim "more than 200 companies" and "Apple boycotting Fox entirely".

They surprise me because: did Fox ever have 200 different companies showing ads? Does any channel? Seems like two dozen different ads tops are ever on. So were the companies in this boycott ever buying ad time on Fox or during Glenn Beck's show?

The Apple thing really surprises me because just the other day their morning show was playing with one and talking about it. Fluff spots like that disguised as "news" are simply ads.

Something like this, if true, should be reported in business outlets like CNBC or BusinessWeek or Forbes. Shouldnt it?

The guy who wrote this is a columnist not a reporter although he does also work for CNN and hosts a weekly media program. Hope this source is a little better
