all i was pointing out is the people that are interested in this kind of thing may not know its here.
I think you’d be surprised at just how well-known ATS is. From experience, it is famous –or infamous - depending on your attitude towards the
subject.
And it’s not always the
site that needs promoting, but the
concepts it covers.
An example, this one of government propaganda: I live in Ireland, and now that the government is bailing out property investors’ loans via bailing
out the banks’ bad practices, we have an organization called NAMA which has come in for a lot of criticism and is not very popular
at all.
Then we have the Minister for Finance say in a radio interview that “the public have a growing faith in NAMA”. A very prominent DJ here heard
this, decided to conduct a brief straw poll of all his work colleagues – and a text-in vote on his very popular show – to see if this was actually
the case.
It turns out it was not,
and by a massive majority. not very scientific, but damning all the same.
The Minister was patently spinning his propaganda as fact. The thing is, a lot of people would have listened to him and blindly accepted his words as
the truth.
It was an eye opener for my wife when I pointed this little gem to her.
She may not want to look at ATS, but she is now aware of the distinct possibility of being fibbed to by a public servant.
