Don’t talk to aliens, warns Stephen Hawking

THE aliens are out there and Earth had better watch out, at least according to Stephen Hawking. He has suggested that extraterrestrials are almost certain to exist — but that instead of seeking them out, humanity should be doing all that it can to avoid any contact.

The suggestions come in a new documentary series in which Hawking, one of the world’s leading scientists, will set out his latest thinking on some of the universe’s greatest mysteries.

In my opinion, TPTB know that disclosure is imminent and this is just propaganda to try to get everyone afraid of ET.

He suggests that aliens might simply raid Earth for its resources and then move on: “We only have to look at ourselves to see how intelligent life might develop into something we wouldn’t want to meet. I imagine they might exist in massive ships, having used up all the resources from their home planet. Such advanced aliens would perhaps become nomads, looking to conquer and colonise whatever planets they can reach.”

He concludes that trying to make contact with alien races is “a little too risky”. He said: “If aliens ever visit us, I think the outcome would be much as when Christopher Columbus first landed in America, which didn’t turn out very well for the Native Americans.”

Are you afraid yet? ET is coming to wipe us all out? Sorry but I'm not buying these scare tactics. TPTB that have been running this show are evil beyond belief, if they are saying be afraid of ET you better believe I will do the opposite. And if you don't think Hawking is part of TPTB, I got a bridge to sell you.

i also think theyre scare tactics;

Someone once told me not to trust people that tries to control you with fear

I doubt seriously if Hawking is trying to control anybody. Like everything else we experience, aliens surely come in all flavors, if they come at all.

I have shared his thoughts on this. Would they come to save us from ourselves? Or to save themselves at our expense?

I doubt that Hawking is trying to instill fear.

This appears to me to simply be his analysis of a possible event. He raises a very good point about the human explorers in our past. The explorers led to the formation of colonies. The colonists, not just in America but in most places in the world, conquered, and in many case enslaved the native populations. If that is our heritage, why should we automatically trust that other beings would be more benificent toward us, should we encounter them on a large scale?

There is a chance he's right. Aliens might not be all friendly and loving.

It's 50/50. Are they of peace or war?

Or look at another way, if aliens do visit us they are likely to be much more intelligent than us, so much so they would view us as in the same way we view animals. What would humans do if they turned up to a planet with nothing but animals. we would no doubt test them, bring them back to earth, colonise the land as there is no threat and a viable food source.

I agree, so why try and sell the fear. Haven't we as humanity had enough fear for the past 2,000 years. I'm not falling for the fear anymore. That's all.

Did Hawking watch the movie District 9?

I think that if a species is advanced enough to come here they sure don't need our resources, it's not like we have rare stuff that can't be found anywhere else in the galaxy, we don't even have all the elements in the universe here.

I am amazed by this viewpoint of him.

Some are, some aren't, obviously he hasn't talked to any because they don't communicate with words.

i completely agree with hawking, we need only look at how we act. why would aliens be out and about looking? because they destroyed there world much like we are doing, why would they raid us? because were just aliens to them, inferior beings... who cares, theyre not "pledian" so who cares... that remind you of anything? yeah, its a totally plausable theory..

Simply put, a child hood lesson not to forget: "STRANGER DANGER."

I was always told in realestate: "LOCATION. LOCATION. LOCATION."

"NEVER WAS SO MUCH MONEY EVER WON OR LOST THAN IN REALESTATE."

You guys are looking at this universe through the eyes of scarcity;

The universe is a vast; infinite and abundant place;
with billions upon billions of planets and resources;

You have to think more logically;
If you walk into a public restroom; and there are 20 toilet stalls;
1 of them is occupied by a small weak inferior person;
Would you storm into his/her stall and force the person out or would you simply just walk into an empty bathroom stall and use that instead?

"The answer, he suggests, is that most of it will be the equivalent of microbes or simple animals — the sort of life that has dominated Earth for most of its history".

I think he is referring to shape of the aliens. If is in the form of microbes consider this; A while back some scientists claim to have found a rock that came from mars (not sure how they came to this conclusion as there is nothing to compare it to). They also said that there is evidence of microbes in the rock. My question would be this; could this be considered a vessel that landed here in which the crew didn't survive the trip? Aliens do not necessarily need to be 3 feet tall and be gray.

Thank you for this!

The link says it's the Discovery Channel carrying the new documentary series.

It premieres today. Sounds fascinating!
