Hi. I'm Dave. I live near Detroit Michigan...hell...theres only one other house on my block that isnt boarded up.

Im mostly interested in current events and whats going on -on deck- as we used to say in the Navy. I really like learning about weird laws and their history. Some of the conspiracy and spirit stuff interests me too. Espcialy some of the 2012 stuff, but even a lot of that seems way out there for me. Guess were all learning as we go right?

I try and be open minded as possible though. Suppose thats all we can do.

Welcome to your alter reality from hell. Looks like Detroit is experiencing 2012 a little early. At least you have the Red Wings.

Anyway, welcome to hel..errm ATS, Dave

Trying to keep an open mind is the best one can do, and besides, you'll get used to all the weird stuff here

Howdy Dave...
ya know its funny how a persons perspective of hell depends on just where you live... when I think about all those folks living down in Mexico with all the killings and burning of entire villages I bet those people think of Detroit as a little slice of heaven

Welcome and feel free to jump in...

Last time I was in Detroit was in 1969 for the Auto Show, they were showing off the new Camero and the other cars, which paled by comparison. I promised my son when he was little that one day I would take him there, to where the cars he loves so much were made. Now I can ever do this. It is a sad day when a great American Icon goes down. Have a happy time here, Dave.

Hi Dave, and welcome to ATS. I'm technically a newbie here too though I've been reading the discussions here for years (I finally got around to registering just the other night), and ATS is a great place for intelligent discussion on a wide range of different topics. Possibly my favorite place to read about politics.

I have a question for you, since you are from Detroit. Several months ago I read a news article on some mainstream site about Detroit's tentative plans to raze huge swaths of abandoned buildings and turn them into FARMS within the city itself. I've never seen another word about it anywhere. Is this something that's really being discussed there?
