From this link you can gain some kind of perspective about the distances involved when viewing the UFO video. Highton is located at just about the 8 o´clock position from the Google Maps marker for Geelong. The distance from Highton to the Cario Bay shoreline is about 3 to 4 miles distant.

I don´t know exact distance measurements, and I did not claim to know that information. What I did say is that we can gain a perspective of the distances involved in the recording.

According to the OP, the first three sentances state:

"BREAKING NEWS AMAZING footage captured by a Highton businessman shows mystery balls of light zigzagging across Corio Bay, prompting speculation it was UFOs.
Businessman Anthony Raduka filmed the footage from the deck of his Highton home about midnight on Monday.

The footage shows balls of light flying over Corio Bay at great speed, dipping as low as street level before zigzagging back up through the sky."

Plot the locations of Highton in relation to Corio Bay using Google Maps and you have a good general location of where the witness was recording from and where the UFOs were located at.

I was trying to make this point:

What if the objects were not that far away?

It would change the size / speed calc's.

Why is it that when people show a UFO video it is only one persons video. If it is real wouldn't there be more then one? Just asking. Show me two videos of the same thing from two different sources then maybe I will start beliving that the video is real.

In my honest opinion, based on the characteristics of flight observed, that you are looking at a couple of RC airplanes with bright / ultrabright LED's attached to the wings / fuselage.

Could be anything? Actually, I can't think of very many things at all that this is likely to be. Can you name, say, five things that look like this?

I know a few RC enthusiast and for the past year the biggest new trend/craze is the outfitting of their planes with LED strips. The planes themselves have gotten lighter and the electric motors are nearly silent until they buzz directly over your head by a maximum of 25 feet or so. They also can stay up in the air (depending on charge time) up to 60+ minutes. Some Pilots can ride the thermals and cut off the engines so low as to squeak out a longer flight..

The visibility of these lights can be seen as far as 10+ miles away. And from only a mile away, when the plane turns or shifts it's flight, it can give the illusion of a "morphing UFO". I have personally seen 3 planes all take off at the same time only 10-20 feet apart from one another and it appeared to be a triangular UFO. Viewing a similar configured flight later on from several miles away was even more convincing considering they all had the same colored lights on. But the real fun was when after maintaining the triangular pattern they all broke away and started a rainbow-colored light show.

For those of you that still have a hard time believing that a RC plane can hover..

We will be getting a lot more UFO reports that are of spectacular lights creating what appears to be fantastic maneuvers and the culprit will be these planes with LED strips on them..

I'd like to see Johnny's video from farther out. It is looking more and more like these may be in fact RC's. There is a way these things in the video from the witness turn that it seems like there is an additional red light plus the bluish hue that is there.

I'm leaning a lot less towards extraterrestrial and more towards RC's especially after hearing and reading posts about them from so many people.

A non-plane looking RC Plane vid. Heck, if I saw this from a distance I might get excited and think it was an ET craft.

I wanna see some BRIGHTNESS!


Obviously that guy likes subtle lighting... That clip again shows the hovering ability - these planes are so light they can easily 'hang' from the prop...

The banking or swooping acion in the original video gives it away as something man made. I don't think that the ET craft would have to tilt/bank to turn.

Nice footage! looks similar to something i caught on video back in december!

I agree with you, RC planes cant be ruled out, other explanations cant be either, I wasn't trying to put down anything you said, you could be right, I was just trying to say that until we do know more nothing can be ruled out, I love a good mystery, to be honest I want this to be an Alien craft or a couple of Alien craft, then I could go find something else to do.

I respect what you said and accept your opinion without question, I would never put down someone elses opinion just because I want it to be something else, you sound a lot more knowledgeable about RC planes than most, and I accept your opinion that RC planes could with the right set up be responsible, I apologise if I came across as dismissive, that was not my intention.

I just think too many are willing to accept the first explanation that comes along, I am not referring to you or any other individual specifically, explanations come so fast sometimes it hardly gives you time to even consider any possibilities before it's accepted as the only possible explanation, which many are willing to accept without question, it would be wonderful if for once some would at least have the mindset to accept that maybe it could be something other than an every day object like Chinese lanterns, Ball Lightning, or a satellite, which what is shown in the video is obviously not, what has people wondering here is the manoeuvrability and the way the Object moves and sweeps across the sky.

RC planes could well be the right answer, but without more info, it cant be determined, yet some have already made up their minds and wont accept any other explanation, again I am not referring to you, we all see it every day.

I sometimes read some posts on this site and think if the poster had any idea as to what they where talking about they would be dangerous, you can see more these days however people are bored with the same old explanations being rewarded, while others who go out of their way to actually look a little deeper, offer a little more insight, work hard on trying to figure it out for all of our benefit get ignored or attacked, but that is old news, and unfair to many members who take this whole thing a little more seriously than a total rebuttal or treat it as a game.

When an explanation for this video does eventually come, it then becomes something else to add to the list of possible explanations for other reported sightings, some are so transfixed on Chinese Lanterns, Flocks of Birds, Bats? they become the explanation for everything they see that is out of the ordinary, I wish some of these people could witness some of the things I have heard from people I have spoken too, who genuinely believe that what they saw and witnessed was not of this World, dismissing them out of hand IMO they are doing themselves no favours at all, in fact they become dishonest to themselves by dismissing them without a second thought, but I accept that there are those who just do not want to know just in case it is something other Worldly.

My Daughter is a prime example, she witnessed an object with several others in our group, she became so upset because she couldn't understand what she was seeing, she was in tears because she even admitted she could not fathom some of the actions she witnessed were even possible, now the whole idea of sky watching scares her half to death, she refuses to even talk about it, I see the same thing here on occasion, like they are terrified it could be true and we are not alone, it scares me sometimes when I wonder what they could want here, are we intended to be lunch?

I hope our little disagreement here does not harm any future discussions we may have on any subject, being members of this site must surely mean we are interested in something similar we want answers too, as with almost everyone else, even the most sceptical members all share something in common, other wise we wouldn't be here, that is if you take into account those who are here to disrupt for the sake of it.

Most points are valid, all opinions count, even if some of the explanations do belong in a Junior School playground while playing with their transformers.

You just can't tell these days with all this amazing photoshop technology available. You can almost never trust a footage anymore. What we really need is video close up from a UFO.

No hard feelings here. I just dont like to see people jump to conclusions before looking for more mundane reasons. I jumped the gun a little, and for that I am sorry. But in this case I think the most logical explination is RC planes, hellicopters, or kites. I have been in the RC plane hobby for over 10 years, and concider myself a fairly proficient pilot. I fly on average once to twice a week, even in winter off frozen lakes. I know what these planes are capable of. People not it the know are usually astonished at the kind of manuvers, speeds, and flight times modern RC electric planes can handle.

Are the things in the video RC planes with LEDs? I don't know, there is nothing there that an RC plane could not do. LEDs are low draw compared to the motors and even 20+ would have only a couple of minutes taken off the flight time. You could see something like that for miles. I have one plane with small LED strobes on the wings, they use the small button batteries and have lasted a long time. These planes can carry more weight than you would think, depending on motor/prop. I have a camer system with transmitter I am trying to set up (search FPV). It weighs well over a pound, on a 15oz. plane. Test flights show it flies fine.

Anyway, I am getting into an RC planes discussion, which I love, but that is not the topic at hand.

I too have seen 3 things in my life I can't explain. One when I was young, myself and several family members, while watching for meteors, saw 4 cigar shaped objects, flying in a formation. Completely silent, and almost translucent looking. I was scared out of my wits, so I can sympathise with what your daughter wen't through. I have 3 kids of my own, I don't know how I would react or try to explain if they saw something like this.

This goes to everyone, just beacuse you want it to be an ailien craft, does not mean it is. Rule out every other explination first. I sincerly hope that one day we get the hard evidence we have been looking for, but don't jump the gun without research.
