Other than that, whenever talking about "god" one should determinate what they mean by "god". Is it he/she/it/what?

Creationism is completely absurd, on the other hand: evolution does not disprove god.

See creationists look at it as a point-scoring thing, Ooooo If we can just word one question in such a way as to stump Dawkins, then that must prove there is a god... It's pathetic.

Dawkins is not the spokesperson for the Atheists man.... He's an ethologist, evolutionary biologist and author, He's just a guy.... a smart guy and a very strong willed guy but a guy all the same... he's not infallible.

You cannot rationally debate this topic.

And it's not Atheism versus Creationism.... It would have to be something like Evolutionism vs Creationism.

And that, as well as all religion vs atheism debates, are always pointless.... Circular logic and ridiculous arguing about the validity of scripture and blah blah.

When we die... we'll find out, until then.... who cares man?

Agreed. I've had a great many debates with Creationists, I don't want to do it anymore. And being a former creationist myself I know how that mindset works, no evidence logic or intelligence can sway those who bias themselves with religion and abide by blind faith.

I think that blupblup said it pretty well. There's no need to, because they're on so different frequencies. The debate wouldn't go anywhere, Dawkins has his science and the other guy has his believes. Neither's gonna change. I don't think Richard here intentionally wants to insult anyone. He just finds the beliefs just so crazy. As do I.

Have you actually herd william lane craig speak? i have in person. he doesnt word his arguments to confuse. he words them perfectly clear. and if athiesm (and richard dawkins) sole being is to disprove creationism or religion then we should be aloud to voice our reasons for believing and try to debunk atheism.

There's no secret plan to destroy religion and the aim/purpose of Atheism is just to live your life... make friends, laugh, love and learn.... like anyone's life should be, whether they're a Theist or Atheist.

I don't know the other guy, but, if he has well reasoned arguments the answer is simple. Dawkins, like Maher with his movie, don't want a fair philosophical battle with someone who might honestly have a point. They want glitzy bullfights with them as the matador *bulls in bull fights never really have a chance though sometimes they get lucky*. People that they can point and laugh at later and convince themselves that person is generally what whatever group is like. Good propaganda for those inclined to listen to it in hopes of furthering their cause. That is why you will never see what you're asking for. If this guy you mentioned truly does his proverbial "crap" together.

Well had you have only mentioned Dawkins, I would have happily agreed that he has personally tried to "debunk" religion, but you said "the sole being of Atheism is to debunk religion" and I was merely pointing out that it wasn't and perhaps you should educate yourself on this fact before trying to discuss it.

I am somewhat perplexed by that statement. I am in no way an atheist, but it appears they need little faith. They can simply say that there is no scientific proof that God exists therefore he doesn't exist. While religion is based on faith and not scientific verifiable fact.

We've had hundreds of these Atheism Vs Religion debates on here ya know... and it's pointless.
It's also frustrating that many don't even have a basic, fundamental grip on the key points of the argument.

Nothing In Atheism can be debunked, because there is nothing to debunk... it's pointless to go around the houses about it.
