I once had quite a session with the drummer playing here - along with the drummer from The Angeleic Upstarts - back in '82.
I was 17 years old at the time.
Not long afterwards he got 7 years for armed robbery.
I've had many a night out with most of these guys from Edinburgh.

I remember going to a rave on Ayr beach back in about '91 or '92.
At the time the police were breaking up a lot of warehouse and other 'illegal' raves but the local plod just left everyone alone - I think they had a refreshing 'they're not harming anyone' take on things.
It really was one of the best raves I ever went to, a cracking night.

I only got to see the tail end of it, the second half of the 90's sneaking in as an underager with an older cousin.
My younger going out days was during the trance scene (was still underage - used to sneak out to at night on my own to escape the chaos in the house). Nothing quite the same as the early 90's raves etc. But still a special time I think, sort of just before 9/11 happened and everything starting going down the crazy path we are on now
