I agree and I've already mentioned that here

It's just right now I'm very skeptical, I do concede though that yes they may exist but I’m not convinced of their existence at all at this moment of time.

Don’t get me wrong I've love to be proven wrong and experience it myself.

careful what you wish for. they vary in type. some are like a swirly white that seem to have no end which is hard to describe others are dark and shadowy almost like the shadow beings mentioned quite often but in orb form.
My daughter can see these things. I cannot.

So Orbs are Dust?????....hmmm....

I popped my camera around the corner its traveling down and away.

It travels up and around to see my hand and camera.

It shoots off leaving a trail.
These shots were taken in a split second 10 frames maybe I haven't counted. I have the video I'm gonna load it on to bucket so you see the actual footage the stills are from.

As Promised......


I was so Obsessed by the Orbs I completely missed the Apparition of a small child as I turned the camera into the room.
These are the tip of a 6 hour long Iceberg and I have dust and orbs and can tell the difference and I have EVP which coincide with the appearance of Orbs.
This week I'm preparing a Youtube release of all the good bits and I have it confirmed by the Parapsychologists Dr.Cairan O'keith from Most Haunted.

Great point, OP. I guess a lot of orbs are in fact dust particles, however not all the orbs are just dust. Last year during a Christian conference i made a picture , an orb about one meter in radius come on the image. The orb appeared partly behind a man, so it was clearly not a dust particle.

I think that if orbs are just dust particles then all photos would be full of dust particles...that just doesn't sound right...and I do agree with the poster who said that you won't see them unless you consider that you might...for example...when I first started to notice orbs I thought now I wonder...I never thought about it before....so I looked back into old photos...and there they are! I didn't see them there before...I even have a photo of one outside in broad daylight...how can there be only ONE...if it is a dust particle...if there is one there has to be more...my sister gave me a book when I was really getting into this...it is called "The Orb Project" by Miceal Ledwith...it is very interesting....
And another thing...what about the travelling orbs....how do you explain that with the dust particle theory?
I love to discuss this topic...and yes I do know people who have seen them with their eyes and no cameras...explain that!

Everyone should read all of the posted replies on a thread before responding to it. Rising Against does not disbelieve in the phenomenon of orbs. What his stance is, is that a majority of orb photography is simply dust particles. A stance on which I agree.



I've seen hundreds of photos littered with a multitude of orbs, which would answer your question of "if it's all dust, why are there not multiple orbs in all picture". A woman my dad works with visited Gettysburg and shot some of these photos:

Photo III
Photo IV
Photo V

All of which are multitudes of "orbs" which are clearly a composite of dust and orbs. So I wouldn't be so quick to note that orbs can't possibly be dust. Or to post a response to a thread which you haven't fully read.

While I agree in principal with the OPs comments, too much attention is given to dust in paranormal investigations, I don't think we should always throw the baby out with the bath water.

I have hundreds of photos of a paranormal environment and 99.995% contain dust orbs. But the 0.005% do require further study.
