Please share your views on a one world religion

One World Religion will never happen because too many faiths are exclusive and incompatible.
Frank Herbert mentioned this in passing in Dune; as I recall the religious leaders on earth were called together to produce an interfaith document called the Orange Catholic Bible, based on the premise 'Thou shalt not disfigure the soul'.
for better or for worse, there are way too many 'true believers' of many faiths that will never compromise beliefs to fit someone else's.
what I see in Europe is a bunch of soft Christians who will be/are happy to practice a mushy 'be nice' form of religion that would easily be molded by a (future) world gummint.
