(Reuters) - At a recent congressional hearing on homespun terrorism, Indiana Representative Mark Souder tore into a little-known Los Angeles County sheriff named Lee Baca.

Souder, a Republican member of the Homeland Security Subcommittee on Intelligence, Information Sharing and Terrorism Risk Assessment, pointedly asked why Baca had attended several fund-raisers for an American Muslim group that some describe as a front for Hamas ....

"The question is, at what point do you start giving legitimacy to groups who fund Hamas?" Souder said. He was referring to Baca's association with the Council On American-Islamic Relations, or CAIR, which says it does not support terrorism.

Raising his voice and pointing his finger at the congressman, Baca exploded: "For you to associate me (with terrorism) somehow through some circuitous attack on CAIR is not only inappropriate, it is un-American."

In an interview with Reuters afterward, Baca said the congressman was playing politics. "Souder doesn't have a solution for dealing with extremism in the United States," he said. "I have a solution. I have a vision. I have relationships with the Muslim community and am working to make that vision a reality."

This form of McCarthyism is truly sad...And America is about to be subjected to forms of that scandal beyond our wildest imagination, unless We as a Nation decide to cut the head off of the beast.

Now these fanatics are labling community efforts by Law Enforcement as terrorist agendas...

I recognized the name Los Angeles County sheriff Lee Baca right away.

He is involved in an awful case involving a person who has been held for a year in jail without bail, trial, conviction, or an attorney.

Well that's no surprise. Not even a Sheriff is free from being labeled a terrorist. I'm over it. They can label us terrorist all they want, they're only creating their own demise. Do they seriously think we're all just gonna sick back and do nothing? I'd say 99% of us here on ATS are probably "terrorist" in the government's eyes. That's fine. We all have family and friends. We regularly interact with people from other countries on here. They know the truth and they'll spread it if anything should happen to any of us. It's the domino effect. Hitler may have been able to incarcerate 6 million Jews but does the US government seriously think they'll be able to incarcerate 300 million Americans? They're out of their mind!

It was never about AlQaeda, it was always about Americans. Like a movie, with twists and turns and surprises and horrific endings, we are THE TARGETS.

And we let it happen.

Being from Oklahoma, I find it interesting that there is a newly-discovered opportunity to find that domestic terrorism does, in fact, exist. This is, after all, April 19th, right?
