So I sent out an S.O.S. to the universe.

A couple of days later I stumbled upon something so significant, so profound, I was filled with excitement and joy. At last, I had found something that answered all my questions. I have never before felt like this. I am filled with love. I am filled with peace. My life will never be the same.

This is exactly how cults get a hold of people. Quite sad, really.

I'd be extremely wary of what you've just found simply because you made yourself vulnerable with your confusion and strong desire to answer those deep questions within. Good luck to you.

Yes. Raëlism is a cult. The book even admits it.

But do you even know what the word cult means?

I know more than I want to what that word means.

By all means do what you please. But given your circumstance I implore you, be extremely wary about what you've discovered.

The book is free.

The overall message is loving everything as yourself and doing the most good whenever possible. When the Elohim look at us, they see themselves, because we are all one. They love us, the same way our parents love us. They want us to love them.

What is wrong with love?

The above is pretty much sweet to most people I would think. And don't get me wrong, some of what the Raelians believe is kinda similar to own beliefs (though also somewhat different too).

The thing is that there isn't really a need to be part of a group or cult or religion or whatever to share similar beliefs to the Raelians.

If you personally enjoy the feeling of belonging, then by all means, I honestly hope it brings joy and comfort to your life. And best of luck to you on that journey.

But please mate, just remember that you can also find answers on your own, without the need to 'look up' to someone, a 'leader' if you will.

I too believe that THE SINGLE most important thing in life is love. Looking out for others, treating them accordingly and realising we are all one are also fantastic 'morals' to live by.

But stay true to yourself at the same time. Take what feels 'right' to you from the Raelian teachings, but try not to limit yourself to just that perspective.

Bottom line, best of luck to you. If the Raelian Movement is right for you then i'm happy you found the answers you were looking for

Raelians = cult.

Personally, I don't trust any religion less than 500 years old, and preferably I'd like a few millenia to give it the proper gravitas. I'm not saying truth can't come in modern times -- certainly it can, does, and will continue to -- but time is a great filter for separating the wheat from the chaff. Look into some ancient mystical texts and traditions (from any of the world's major faiths) for some true depth, in sigth, and wisdom. Don't be decieved by clowns in turtlenecks with big pendants babbling about aliens.

Just my 2 cents. Your milage may vary.

From my understanding, this religion has always existed.

We mistook the Elohim for gods because 2000 years ago. Primitive people could not understand what they were seeing. There are tribes in the most secluded areas of the world who have never seen the modern world. To them, some of the stuff we currently have would be considered godly from their perspective.

Look up the word cult.

I would like to apologize to everyone who read this thread.

Upon further investigation of Rael and his message, I feel as if there is something much bigger that escapes my perception. Its almost as if the whole message was a metaphor for something else. Similar to how it explains the bible to be a metaphor for something else.

I can not put my finger on it, but things do not add up. All my questions on religion were answered. But it still does not answer the biggest question of all: Who am I?

Sounds like you are on a quest to find meaning and sense in the world and your part in it. You are a very spiritual person. Don't be hard on yourself if you can't find all the answers your looking for. It's the questioning thats important. If a "truth" feels right for you deep inside explore it further. I used to seek answers through institutions like religon or groups purporting to know all answers and THE TRUTH. They are run by ordinary people like us. Whats truth to them may not resonate with you.

Read and study. Explore. Keep a journal on what feels right. Dreams are also full of revelations. Meditate on what you discover and ask for your higher self/guides to lead you in the right direction. Mostly relax and look for ways you can make a difference in someone elses life in small ways. You'd be surprised how you can free your mind of self and in turn start looking outward - its quite enlightening.

Eureka!

The voice within is the answer.

Every moment in life, whether "good" or "bad" is an opportunity to learn.
