Israel to turn Islamic burial site into hotel

The Aqsa Heritage and Endowment Foundation has confirmed that the Israeli "local committee for planning and construction" in the city of Jaffa has conclusively ratified a bid by the Zionist investment company "Nakish" to build a tourist hotel on the site of the Islamic burial grounds of al-Qishleh.

The article states the planned hotel building will extend three floors below ground which would mean all remains from the burial ground will be exhumed.

The purpose seems to demoralize the local people and disconnect them from their heritage by these acts. It’s sad that these vile acts of desecration continue whilst people allover the world are forced to turn a blind eye.

I think I'll go to D.R. Congo instead, it's more civilized than Israel.

If this was a local committee in Jaffa, they can fight this in court. I think there is a good chance that the Israeli Supreme Court would rule against the Hotel construction.

and they call themselves the chosen people of god.. if so then their god is satan, and thier awaited messiah is the antichrist himself...

why is no country doing anything? (except iran)

As per the article

In a statement released on Friday 16th April, the al-Aqsa Foundation asserted that it denounced and rejected the decision which effectively authorises the violation of the sanctity of dozens of graves located on the historic Mamluke Islamic burial site of al-Qishleh cemetery.

The statement explained that the Jaffa local committee's decision came on the heels of another decision made by the "local committee" for the Interior Ministry in Liwa' Tel al-Rabee' [Tel Aviv], which had refused various and repeated appeals from the Foundation. This decision means that the city of Jaffa will be forced to witness the disinterment of the bones of dozens of Muslim dead, and the fresh violation of another Muslim burial site.

So doubt there is any chance.

43% of Israel is secular. 27% are non traditional religious, aka reform Jews.

The most religious group, the Haredim, aka the Ultra orthodox, only make up 8% and are one the most hated groups in the country.

You might want to brush up on the history of Zionism and what roles secular Jews and marxists had in it.

It is also true that Muslims bury their dead if front of the Golden gate, so to prevent Jesus from entering it when he is supposedly to return. I read once that Iran pays for their burial site there if they kill a Jew. I also hear it's a practice for Muslims to defecate on Jewish burials sites.

Disgusting behavior in building the hotel over a graveyard. I could see if it was a matter of safety (building a dam, levee, etc) but a hotel? That's simply wrong, and no excuses of what other's do is going to justify their action on this.

I personally hope it doesn't happen from either side. Not you, but I keep seeing all of these people hoping for war with intended victories for "both sides."

There are so many beautiful people in both countries, yet the same people don't stop to think about that, too deaf from the cacophony of war drums in the ears, I guess. Let's not even start on the innocent children on both sides that get screwed no matter what. :shk:

Okay, I'm not trying to defend Israel or its government's recurring policy of acting like a bunch of neanderthalic barbarians, but honestly I have to say that I'll believe this when I see it coming from something other than one of the largest jew-hating Websites on the Internet - I checked to see if I could verify this with anyone else, and the only other site that posted it had the same jew-hating flavor to it (seriously, read the home pages of the given link and see if there's anything non "Israel is pure evil" on it).

The only reason I mention the above is the fact that not even Al-Jazeera has this mentioned, even in the ME section. I'm not saying it's crap, just maybe that even they realize that this is going nowhere fast and will ultimately be shot down before the first bulldozer shows up. We have projects like that all over the states - insensitive contractor wants to build a highrise on native American burial ground, gets approved, and then completely shot down by a zoning commission...

All I'm saying is, if Al-Jazeera of all publications isn't raising holy hell about this yet, verify first...

If it is true, then what tiny amount of credibility Israel has is lost, and that country is dead to me with everything else that's happened as of late. God bless the Israeli and Palestinian people, but dear God suicide their respective idiotic leaderships... sorry if that was harsh, but as someone who's followed and studied ME history for awhile, I am absolutely sick to death of at least half the despotic regimes that rule it.

The Golden Gate, which is unusual in that it is sealed so that no one can pass through it today. Why is the gate sealed? Jewish tradition has it that the Messiah would enter Jerusalem via this gate when he comes, so Muslims during the reign of Ottoman Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent (1520-1566) sealed this gate to keep him out.

Muslim rulers knew about this Jewish tradition, and they sealed the gate permanently shut. But they were afraid this might not be enough. So, aware that the Messiah would be of priestly lineage and unable to come anywhere near a cemetery, Muslims began burying their dead in front of the gate.

I think it's generally not good procedure to build "on top" of a grave or tomb.
I'm sure Israel will relocate them at their expense.
