Startling new evidence has emerged in the ongoing case of the Lower Merion school district in Philadelphia accused of spying on students in their homes via school issued laptops.
The lawyer for the family of the student whose school issued computer was allegedly remotely accessed while in his home, says that thousands of images were taken, including photographs of other students in their homes, web sites they visited, and excerpts of their online chats.
The case, Blake J. Robbins v. Lower Merion School District (PDF), was filed in the United States District Court for the Eastern District

Yes, yes it is. They are control freaks who are not socially fit to exist in NORMAL society. They were the ones who went crying to teacher every five seconds. This is just what some people get off to *Hint Hint*. I would recommend you send these 3 news articles and that 20/20 video to every one you know. I mean did you hear that principle? "Ya I like to take pictures of them" WTF?
The district has declined to comment on the new motion and says it is not aware of any misuse of the images taken from the laptops. The case is ongoing.

Well, they just put their foot in it by ADMITTING that images were taken from
the laptops.
Whether they were misused or not, the point is mute.
Unless they told the student that the laptop had a camera that would be capturing images of them, when they were given the laptop, which they didn't, then that in itself is an offense.
The second offense is then the taking of the images unbeknown to the student and finally the third offense is the misuse and abuse of the images.
So I count 3 different things they can be hung for legally just in that one sentence.
In 2006, Google announced that they would use in-built microphones to listen in on user’s background noise, be it television, music or radio – and then direct advertising at them based on their preferences.
