PHILADELPHIA, PA: Police arrested a Cherry Hill man after he was accused of intentionally vomiting on a young girl at the Phillies game Wednesday evening. The young girl's father, trying to give his daughters an unforgettable night at the ballpark, ended up getting a memory he wishes he could forget.

You know, I knew something would upset me today and this is it-just been one of those days. Absolutely disgusting. I'm sorry to bring this but I think we need to keep an eye on society and it's downward trend when it comes to public activities etc. I say sentence him to about a year or two collecting up Pig crap should do him some good. Or maybe working in a hospital where he has to be around and the first one called to clean up any ugly messes.

Pig is the best I can think of him-being nice. The problem is, the violent and disgusting displays at Philly sports events (and some other Pro venues) is a growing problem that apparently the city can't deal with. heck, they even put a courtroom in the stadium so they could handle the cases quicker but I guess that is not a deterant.

I am now a firm beleiver that alcohol should not be available at any sporting event. errrrrrrr. Notice the Pigs left eye. Must have been a thank you sign for the dad!!! I hope so. At least there was a pretty good ending-there are nice people out there.

Amazing how thin the veneer of civilization is on some folks.

He did get a nice shiner for his trouble too. I'm guessing that happened when the dad and other fans "held him" until the cops got there.

Edit- PS- regarding booze at events. I've been at a few where they've cut it off part way though the event. I've always thought that was a good idea as there are always a few the more trouble the make corresponds directly to the amount of beer they drink.

Some people are idiots.

To bad they get the most attention and people like the OP uses them as proof that society is in a downward trend.

I wonder how many was at that game? I don't see any stories on how well behaved they were during the game. Nope, we get to here how some fat body threw up on a girl.

A good idea?
Sorry to inform you but beer or generally alcohol doesn't turn humans into crazy idiots. They're what they're.
If you don't sell beer at sport events, you only get a lot of angry people. I know that, some stadiums in germany only sold alcohol-free beer (what's the purpose of beer without alcohol?) and nobody liked it.
So in the end, it's a bigger risk to not sell beer than to sell it and have maybe one or two misbehaving idiots.

Besides, is that really news worthy? Big deal, some idiot puked on somebody. I really wonder what's so news-worty about it.

There was always fighting in and around sport events. Fans of two rival teams fighting against each other. That has always been, now, 30 years ago, 50 years ago, 100 years ago. It hasn't changed.
The only thing that has changed is, that now in our "friendly and political correct environment" they put 100 cops around the stadium who only put some more oil into the fire. Without all those security and cops there wouldn't be half the problems around sport stadiums we have now.

I live next to munich, we have this big rivalry between Bayern München and 1860 München (Football or Soccer for you americans), that's a hated rivalry since around 110 years.
Old fans always tell stories about how they fighted in the streets and everything. Nobody cared back in the day. Most of the time it was a friendly fight with some beer afterwards.
Today such a fight happens and instantly 5-6 cops show up and use their force. That's the real problem behind fights at sport events.

Sorry don't see any evidence to see purposely aiming for the girl. Fair enough purposely making himself sick, NOT purposely aiming for the girl. Only the word of an insulted cop. Of course the cops will take the word of the off-duty cop who was insulted because the vomit landed on his kid, then abused his power to get the 21 year old locked up. Plus the off-duty cop should be charged with assault for the blackeye he gave the man. Sorry to say but more than one pig in this as you called the 21 year old.

Man who was sick - charge with drunk & disorderly in public.
Off duty cop - charge with assault & abuse of power.

To me the abuse of power is what makes a real PIG.

Anything to insult a cop huh?

Your telling me that if a man at a ball game pukes on your kid you might not take offense to it and punch him in the eye?

If you make yourself puke you better know where you are going to puke at. Besides, he was setting next top this kid all game and all of a sudden he forgets shes there?

Take off your cop hating hat and repost, maybe you won't sound so foolish the second time around.

The story didn't say the dad did it! Or even if the black eye came from this event. We were just speculating and maybe hoping the dad got his chance to do it-REGARDLESS if he is a cop or not.

Abuse of Power? Where did you get that, you speculating now. Apparently you have never been to a sporting event in which a bad fan incident occurs. There is no time for anyone to tell the cop anything due to the extreme conditions in that certain area-which, of course, why the cops are sent there.

I bet you the arresting cops didn't know who the father was at the time of arrest. They would have found that afterwards and you can't unarrest someone so..... the matter would proceed anyway. Nice try.

that is still assault is it not.
even if other cop only found afterwards he was a cop, he should still be charged with assault.

Still waiting for evidence of intent, not just cops word.

if I hit you regardless of the provocation, is that or is that not assault?

Puking is an immediate/ sudden reaction and I doubt an inebriated person would effectively target where his puke will land. It looks more like a case of unintentional mistake. Sure he can be charged with disorderly conduct but if the father hit upon the man he should be charged for assault as well.

I didn't put this thread on here to become COP thing, or if the dad hit the man etc.

I put it on to show the deprevity of American society and the ignorance of some of the population-a downward sprial of the society and hopefully to spark debate about that. I can't help where the thread went.

Clearly the man could have removed himself from the area and then put his fingers down his throat to make himself puke. He was even quoted (allegedly) saying: I'm gonna throw up and then proceeded to make himself throw up.

Now, see the update I am now posting. A little more to the story-I just learned. I am looking for an video/pics that might come up.

I just found this updated info:

Police say Clemmens began trying to make himself vomit on an off-duty police captain and his family after a companion was removed from the stadium for unruly behavior.

Easton police Capt. Michael Vangelo says he saw Clemmens put his fingers down his throat and throw up, hitting Vangelo and his 11-year-old daughter. Philadelphia police say Clemmens also punched Vangelo and vomited on an arresting officer.

As it says "Police say" not independent witnesses who are not police.

Of course they will take another cop's word over other peoples'.

Video or it didn't happen. I find it hard to believe someone purposely vomited on an 11 year old girl. He probably got sick because he drank too much and happened to vomit where an 11 year old girl happened to be standing. But to sweeten the story and punish the guy for it, he 'purposely' did it.

It´s a tad more common nowadays, ´tis a sad state of affairs now.
