Has anyone been watching the new V series 2010?

I have watched the original back in the 80's but could not remember much of it. Now after watching the 1st 2 shows this week it seems as though EVERYTHING we have discussed here on ATS is spliced into the show??

It has alot of details that were not in the original but are in the new series.

Just wanted to know who has felt the same on this

What's the quality, scripting, production like etc?

Did I hear somewhere the 1st season is being aired and split into 2/3 parts?

Yeah man, I had no idea what it was going to be like and then I saw "the dawn of a new day" on the pamphlet the kid has about the v's. You probably know Jordan Maxwell one of the first researchers into occult and illuminati types has a new book out called "the dawn of a new day" and is obsessed by that phrase. Not to mention they made the v's reptilians, coincidence?

The 80's series was way better than this crap they are putting out now. Totally different concept and the acting is terrible, creatures don't look the same. It's retarded I can't watch it.

I have not seen the original version either but I have seen all but the latest episode of the current version and I have a theory of it's purpose.

Call me crazy but this is what I think. I believe that the powers that be are well aware that open contact with ETs is in the not too distant future. It is my belief that this "contact" will be benevolent in nature, although in may very well be in opposition to the agenda of those who would prefer to maintain their current status and control over humanity.

Therefore, the only way that the shadow governments can maintain secrecy and control is for them to brainwash the general public into believing that the ETs are here to harm us.

I believe that it is their intention to make humanity fearful of open contact before it happens. When it does happen, (open contact) the powers that be will then instigate war with the ETs, all under the guise that they are only doing this to protect "us" from "them."

Then, assuming they win this war and being our saviors, they can maintain the status quo and insure their future control over humanity.

I'm just saying.

Well i must say that after the atrocity that is Caprica (ruined a great Sci-Fi) and after seeing the advert for V, i was not looking forward to it...

The advert made it look to clean cut for my taste! a story like V needs to be more rough (like blade runner) rather than clean (like star trek) ... Saying that.. i have now watched the first two episodes and my optimism has increased... I honestly didn’t think it was that bad... maybe the fact that i thought it was gonna be complete crap helps... but so far i'm enjoying it

Oh yeah... i remember the original first time round and me and the wife have just finished watching re-runs on sci-fi channel... cheesy as hell but still a great

I noticed the "dawn of a new day" reference too. I think it was towards the end of last year that I saw a Jordan Maxwell video telling us to watch out for symbolism containing the term and then a few months later I see the exact phrase in T.V. show about alien contact. Coincidence? I'm not sure.

The V's were reptilian in the first one. The only "coincidence" I can see is the one where David Icke wrote about things strikingly similar to event contained in the original mini-series just as people were starting to forget about it.

Thank you Thank you!!!

I was waiting for this whole reptilian Icke connection!! I have always believed that Icke got his idea from the first V series

I was a fan of the series back in the 80's, despite the cheesiness.

Here's what I like about the new series:

Great special effects
How it makes fun of the "spin" in politics
How it alludes to "hope and change" (no matter whether you like Obama or not, it amuses me how it references current politics. Would be fine with me too if it threw in a search for WMD's, etc.)
How it gives a nod to conspiracy theorists
The addition of a priest as a resistance member
The overall "tone" of the aliens...you know Anna is being deceitful, but her performance of a thinly veiled attempt at altruism is much better than the 80's version where the cheery alien commander is just TOO fake. If that makes any sense!
Scott Wolf as a smarmy reporter

What I don't like:

Everyone looks like a model
Why does every teenage boy now on TV have enormous, bushy eyebrows? What started this trend? 90210? Jeesh....
The way they handle a V pregnancy. The orginal version was much better IMHO. I don't like the new, "Oops, I didn't know I could get a human pregnant" approach.
The production is a little TOO slick...it feels like a music video at times. despite the much better special fx, I appreciate the gritty production value of the original MORE.
John May Lives! I don't know about this yet. It feels like a hokey way to advance the plot. Yes, the 5th Column idea is good, but the slogan is cheesy...

There you have it... my opinion. Take it with a pound of salt.

i can remember some of the old series too.
in the new series i thought i heard said that the v's have been on earth for years, am i right in thinking this was not so in the original?
and in the original, was there a way to tell a v from a human? lack of fingerprints or something? or was that another series with Roy Thinnes as main character?
enjoying the new series so far, will be interesting to see what other changes they make.

Have got all the original V episodes on DVD.

The acting at times was terrible but it was brilliant and caused quite a stir at the time if I remember rightly.

Looking forward to seeing the new series; I missed the first two episodes which aired on Tuesday on SyFy channel but they are being repeated tonight and I am Sky+ them.

Have seen the trailers on youtube but will let you all know what I think after I've watched them.

David Icke?
He had just got the job of presenting the sports news on Breakfast Time when the original series was shown, 1983, and as such I think he knew very little about reptilians etc then.

Yes, I watch is religiously when it comes on. I still remember the original series too, the original pales by comparison. Well produced, well acted, and good actors/actress too. I think the show is showing us what is planned by the Reptilians when they get here. Anna is a Fox! Too bad she is on the wrong side.

I really like the new V series, I think all good and bad points considered, it is trying to appeal to a wide audience and so might explain some of the extra cheese. I did find it weird though how they just showed 4 episodes to begin with, I have never known that before. Was that like a pilot of 4 to see how it went? Or was it to gradually introduce the "aliens" into our lives, for disclosure?!

It's amazing how many themes run through all my favourite TV Series at the moment. I watch Flash Forward, Fringe, Lost, Caprica, Heroes and V (some are on breaks) and found many recurring themes amongst these including:

Alternate and Multiple Universes, Paranormal Studies, Human Connections, Human Abilities, Time Travel, Approaching a particular date, Changing the Future, Other Planets like Earth, Robots/A.I., Corruption, Reptilians etc.. the list goes on and on.

I even listed all the programmes I watch to keep myself aware of what I am actually watching, and to log the connections these have in the current media. I do think that it is part of a master plan for disclosure, but maybe I am just too paranoid!

I think its better entertainment then most of the other crap on TV, and might get a few people thinking.

I've watched all the episodes so far, and yes, I was a bit pissed that they ran 4 episodes and went into a hiatus.
Not sure what the rest of the series will be like, but I'm enjoying it so far.

You can watch it on-line here, I think there are 7 posted so far....
