There's been many failed attemps from allianced middle east armies against israel. Air superiority was with the skilled IAF pilots and that provided
huge confidence for the armoured brigades to manouvour, in turn the tough well trained grunts could run a muck, supported with highly mobile
artillery.
That's the old war here's the new.
A stand off; through threat of war and use of actual biological contamination. Israel's water supply depends on few sources and is in reach of Syrian strike jets et. al. Oil resource countries must eventually side with their own, although not always in war. Would the Saudis and their minor allies stand up to a weak administration of the US, not willing to invade the region? Hell yeah.
