Hi, I'm the new guy.

Or girl.

I think I've finally found a forum created just for me. I have, since from a young age, always wondered about the meaning of life, the universe and everything. I've made a few posts on here already, but this is my first thread.

I've noticed that a few introduction threads usually involve something different and exciting that may have happened to them as a child, as a kind of trigger or catalyst, but alas, I have no exciting weird stories, apart from the usual, seemingly dramatic 'abusive childhood' stories, which everyone has heard before, and I prefer not to mention it (unless it is relevant) because it's so worn out.

I have, however, always thought I was different, and not to inflate my own ego, I sometimes thought I was better than everyone else, much better than this world even, and am still trying to work out what the purpose of all this is. I love figuring out how things work, whether it be machines, people, the universe itself, history.

I have never even come across people who think along the same lines as I do.

There's much more to me, as there is much more to everyone else, but I'm afraid I've used the word "I" a little too much already. Sorry

Looking forward to discussing more topics with crirical and logical thinkers!

Hi Ashtree, and welcome to the ATS community. For now, you can reply to any thread in any member forum you wish, as well as send & receive Messages to Staff only.
Once you have achieved 20 posts, you will then be able to start your own threads and additionally send & receive messages to and from fellow ATS members.

From one newbie to the next, welcome! Interesting to hear your thoughts about feeling better than this world. Perhaps it's not quite being "better" but rather a heightened sense of awareness and connectedness?

Well, kind of. When I was younger I wasn't quite aware of the term 'enlightenment', I just couldn't understand why people didn't think the way I did. Even now I'm finding myself constantly annoyed and disappointed that people could choose to be so ignorant. But then again, who am I to judge?

Well which is it? Make up my mind.
