It's definitely depressing to look at a depository of human stupidity and use it to judge all of mankind. But I do have to criticize our school systems a bit. I think the current system tends to crush curiosity and creativity, making learning a chore rather than an enjoyable experience. Lets be honest, it is absolutely impossible to teach a person EVERYTHING they need to know. The true point of education should be to inspire that person to want to learn about things they do not yet know. But if I've been brainwashed for the first 18 years of my life that learning is a chore, I'm probably more likely to sit on my couch and have "entertainment" forced into my brain.

I think learning becomes a chore when we as a society sought to "quantify" how much students were learning, leading to increased standardized testing. Testing is not necessarily bad, but because people are impatient and cheap these tests are composed of questions that can be graded by machines. This leads to the endless memorization of facts, dates, and names rather than the deeper concepts of a subject (i.e. ideas and what motivates people).

On a lighter note this thread reminds me of the movie Idiocracy...

Because an animal doesn't respond to a manmade change in its environment? That is kind of silly. Yup, you didn't adapt to the highly un-natural change in your environment in a day, you must be a dumb animal.

I remember a few years ago, reading that Eskimos had the largest
average brain size on the planet. If so, it would be the combination of
Fish Oil and living in a Deadly environment. Most moderns don't have
the benefit of either.

Brain size is only on indicator of intelligence. Not the only one.

So you read one web page of possibly made up stories and now the whole world is stupid? Talk about taking a leap into massive stereotyping.

All I can say is that I hope stupidity is not running rampant in the pool area.

Walk, please don't run, and make sure to not bring any glass objects or containers please.

Thanks,

Safety Labels

They are the reason stupid people haven't removed themselves from the gene pool yet!

www.darwinawards.com...

In reality, there probably isn't any MORE stupid people in the world, but the same percentage in a higher population. Take into account the internet, and the fact that most of the really stupid things are in fact funny, which draws our attention to them. Like bashing an iPad with a baseball bat...

"Mum, where are you going?"

"In the head."

"Oh. Can I come?"

And I am the one who lost the kettle by putting it in the fridge...

The there's the movie 'Jackass'. Some people laughed, some were horrified. But basically it was stupid.

I think it has something to do with the materialistic world we live in.
People are not interested in knowledge anymore...
I have always loved and lived after the saying "knowledge is power", but in the world today many people live by "money is power".
I dont even get a challenge in trivial pursuit playing with my family

I know the americans on this boards are going to be mad but this is so funny..
It's basic knowledge...

Stupidity is running rampant because that's what stupidity does.
Running rampant is the natural state for stupidity.
You were expecting an orderly and efficient flow of stupidity throughout the system? I could claim to be an expert in stupidity but then what would be the point really.

There are a zillion applicable quotes but it boils down to: different things appear stupid depending on how you think (about thinking).

I still contend that stupid is the human norm, and the only reason that it changes is because by accident over time some people have shared that they've done one thing that isn't stupid and it turned out not to hurt as much as stupid does.

And they were nice enough to share.

The good thing about a repository of stupid - it lets you know what you REALLY DO NOT WANT to do.

Almost all societies throughout time have been collections of stupid. I would contend that somewhere between half and most societies today are still large containers of reinforced stupid.

What's worse than one stupid person? A society of stupid. What's worse than a society of stupid? A society of violently protective of stupid stupid. Together we can do great things. Together we can be a big mass of wretchedly insidious dumb with protection mechanism to protect the dumbness.

I'd think otherwise - but several tens of thousands of years of human history is pretty much one long fight for stupidity. The couple of billion persons who have access to education today really isn't a great example, since it is new and not anywhere close to universal. 40 years of education of 1/3 of the planet vs. tens of thousands of years of just about every culture on the planet embracing awe inspiring retardness. Not much of a contest.

The free masons are the Illuminati.

Free masons built up the hierarchy for the Illuminati through bloodlines and manipulation of governments.

E plurbus Enum - out of one, comes many. Meaning out of 1 form of tyranny, instilled into many governments.

They do their expansion and contraction cycles throughout history and guess what, the modern Rome (which by the way the originial Rome collapse the same way along with Ukraine starving 21 million people.) may or may not be next.

That looks like a good combination of Illuminati and mason.

Please open your eyes, The Masons and the Illuminati are one and the same.

sure,

www.theforbiddenknowledge.com...

If you have seen G. W. Bush Jr. you can notice his devil hand mason sign he likes to flash around.

Obama does it too.

It is a masons sign that the Illuminati use.

The Illuminati are recent Free Masons. They just play games with names and labels.

You can see the name and label changing with corporations along with many other things.

An Example: Wells Fargo bank. It has been bought out and sold and bought-out over decades since the last economic crash, which by the way was on purpose, I'll look for the doc in which it is admitted.

Anyways Wells Fargo name doesn't change, but the label in the background changes, like Wells Fargo Bank, National Association, or Wells Fargo banking Co.

They may not seem any different, but trust me it makes all the difference.

Another good way to see is looking at your Drivers license and other forms of I.D. Is your Name in all CAPS? I bet it is.

I have to look around for other sites, but they are connected.

Stupidity has always been rampant. We're not all that bright, just think about some of the activities we do for fun and some of the stuff we do.

We have wars. We kill, rape and do all sorts of other horrible things.

We think that driving 500 times in an oval is a sport.

We jump out of planes, on purpose.

People climb Everest and nearly die, just because "it's there"

We believe we can actually OWN objects and items and even land beneath our feet.

Some believe that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree.

So you can see human beings are not the brightest of animals and its been that way from the beginning

Everybody's stupid, in their own way.

Everything is compartmentalized in the economy, and our way of life. I don't know how my car works -- I mean, I have a basic idea, but if you gave me all the parts to reproduce my car, I couldn't do it -- but maybe you do know how my car works.

Maybe I know economics, and you know physics, but neither of us are cross-disciplinarians. So we sort of depend on each other, in an honest way, to tell the truth, as well as provide specialization services that either individual can't possibly know/learn on his/her own. Even if he/she can, he/she can't possibly know EVERYTHING. Maybe you know physics AND economics (after all, they're both similar), but you don't know medicine. So you still depend on an honest doctor to treat you when you get sick.

But maybe you know medicine AND physics AND economics, but you still don't know how your own car works -- so you rely on a mechanic, who does... But maybe you know economics, physics, medicine, AND how your car works, but you don't know.... etc.

You can see where I'm going with this..

We depend on compartmentalization. We all have some expert/specialist we go to, in our lives, be it a hair stylist or a doctor, or whatever.

Our society is made up of specialists -- be it doctors, economists, mechanics, or whatever. No one person can possibly know it all -- yet, they pretend as if they do -- or they are suspicious of others who know more than they do.

I think this is largely because of networks like Fox News, which teaches of us to be suspicious without a reliable methodology for which to be suspicious of others.

And that is why we are stupid (hope that all made sense.)
