2012, why worry?

I agree with you. If the world actually does end in 2012 we'll probably be dead so fast we won't know what's happening, let alone hear the people who believed it would happen say "I told you so".

On another note I too know someone who believes the 2012 hype. I made a bet with him that the world wouldn't end. Even if it does I still don't have to pay him because the world will have ended.

I cant get over all these people who think the world is going to come to this ultimate end? i will admit when i first heard of it i was kinda freaked out over it, but then common sense kicked in. Wouldnt it be nicer to focus on something wonderful happening???

I think it's alot easier for people to say nothings gonna happen rather than really look at the situation and cross reference why people are saying this. It may not be that the world is gonna end but, it may change, maybe not in a way that we 'all' want it to.

I doubt the world would end instantaneously. I wouldn't really want to die instantaneously though. It just seems weird to me, I think I would like to experience dieing before I actually die. It's suppose to be wonderful just before you go out. I think i'd endure the grusome pain to experience that.

But if the world is going to end in 2012 than I would definitly worry about it, but there isn't any evidence for that. I think it's important though to think about death. Because it's going to happen sometime.

2012 has tought me some stuff about spirituality, the imagination and all sorts of things, but the date 2012 is not a spirituality. It represents things that spirituality is based on like ascension and global reunion or awakening, but these ideas and feelings have been around forever.

I will say that things are moving faster now and everyone's a little on edge about it, but don't go jumping to conclusions. The way of the artist is to take all things into consideration first.

Well, what if, only what if, 2012 will actually be some sort of mass extermination event? Bigger that the Earth has seen. Caused by man? Perhaps, maybe even the Earth itsself, either way, if there is a way you could survive you gotta do something.

Exactly. I feel like the majority of people who are scared are the ones who hear about 2012 and immediately dismiss it without any real evidence as to why it CAN'T happen. I used to be a non-believer in anything spiritual at all. Based on my research, I no longer believe 2012 is "just another day." I have researched in-depth and feel like while it is not fully understood what will occur, something big will happen. We are at the end of one of the major 26,000 year cycles and prophecies other than the Mysn have predicted such events.

I for one am not saying it is the end of all, but I will go on board as saying no matter what, a huge cosmic shift will take place and affect Earth. The main people I see who are scared are those that cringe when I mention it and say "just like Y2K." Folks, this is nothing like the above-mentioned "prophecy" at all. This has been postulated fir years. I then present evidence as to why several things connect to 2012 and people get uncomfortable and just say "Can't happen. Just like Y2K." If that is not fear not backed by evidence, I do not know what is.

I personally believe something major will occur on this date, but I am
not scared in the least. I notice many who dismiss it without researching it seem scared to think the world will end or change on a dime and they have not lived the life they hoped or believed they should have lived. Maybe that is the real fear here. Either way, I wish everyone the best.

yes i do think think something may happen, just maybe not on a scale that alot of people are foreseeing

there are many things to consider.

the zodiac says that on the date 2012 we begin a new age, the age of the destroyer which is the water bearer. the last time we entered this age was supposedly when noah had his flood. also the mayan and hopi calender ends on this date. but some believe that they did not predict the end but just the transition into a new age. here is the link

also i work in geneva and a couple of my clients work for the U.N and on asking them about agenda 21 they said they couldnt talk about it. (these are guys ive been for beers with, we're kinda friends)

i totally understand that response, but talking about this subject does give people ease of mind, and if you dont really care then yes shout "ooh i cant stand all this fighting" peeps of the same kind of mind need to stick together. we're only talking of what may(an) happen. so chillax.

I guess i am of the mind that what will be will be. I recently watched "Knowing" with Nicolas Kage(cage??). The whole situation with a mega solar flare which essentially fries the entire earth to a crisp, in which the ever watching aliens bring the chosen few to the new world to start fresh.

Except that you have all seemed to miss the point of my original post, which is that 2012 is complete BS. Seriously how do any of you think that their is a possibility of anything happening? Someone mentioned the "Age of the Destroyer" happening in 2012. Now I've never ever heard of the age fo the destroyer but I do know that after the age were in right now we go into the age of Aquarius, but that doesn't happen fully till around 2175 and takes years and years and years to complete. You take about Hopi calenders and other long count calenders ending on the same day, well how do you explain that not all Mayan calenders end in 2012; in fact only one of them does and the finding's were presented by a hack job of a scientist who believed that the pyramids were transported from space.

If your gonna take this on a belief level fine, I'm still gonna tell you your wrong. I'm not gonna take the politically correct route and say your right in your own way. If you think there are any facts at all to back this up... do some research and I'm not talking about random internet websites, read some old scientific journals see if you can find any mention of this whole BS situation...

That said, my whole OP was about not worrying about it, some of you aren't worried I'm sure, but there's a difference between Ignorance is Bliss and Letting Go.

OK folks One More time: The Mayan Calendar does NOT end in 2012. It enters into Baktun 13 and there are Mayan sites with inscriptions going forward into Baktun 20. Each Baktun is 144,000 years. We still have many many years to go and the Mayan calendar never ends. They simply did not bother to make inscriptions that far into the future.

It is amazing how many people repeat nonsense to support their belief without ever bothering to check the facts. "Ignorance is Bliss" I guess. My only hope is that everyone who believes in the 2012 nonsense and promotes the idea, does the right thing and jumps into the sea. We would all be better of without such superstition based on ignorance of the facts.

There is absolutely NOTHING TO FEAR and for me personally I have died before (according to what humans define/understand death to be) with an NDE among other experiences. I have no fear left in me and the message coming from the "INFINITE" is to have no fear.

Try to always remain positive and hopeful to the best of your ability-believing that you can help create a brighter and better future. Have trust, hope and faith in your family and friends believing that things will work out for the better regardless of what the future brings.

Live life to the best of your ability and never let fear or worry weigh you down understanding that "Death" is an inevitability but at the same time "Death" is nothing to worry or fear because if your alive now in the present you will live on forever.

Nothing takes place one time within "Infinity" if something only took place one time such as a “Big Bang” then all things would have beginning and ending which is an impossibility within “Infinity.”

The answers can be reached in realizing that all things are “INFINITE” in nature and if you exist in the present or here and now than that means you must have always existed. If you’ve always existed in one form/body or another than that means you will always exist and will live on forever. “Fear” can be eliminated in knowing that “Death” is in impossibility within “INFINITY.”

In other words a “Big Bang” (For those who believe in that) cannot happen only one time within Infinity, if it happened once it will happen again within “Infinite” amounts of “Time” and “Space”. If it happens more than once it will happen “Forever” and an “Infinite” amount of times more. "You'" are Eternal never- ending and will never seize to exist in one form/body or another.


Take the time to ponder more on the meaning of all that "Infinity' truly represents and you will find peace in understanding that life in the Universe is not by accident, chance or coincidence. There are Creators/Designers that Created/Designed every single thing in existence. Everything didn't just organize itself from nothingness or come from consciousness alone but was well thought out-planned more than anyone could ever possibly begin to imagine/understand/comprehend. There are Orchestrators far beyond the dimensions man knows and this Universe is their painting, their garden, their Creation and they know it like the back of their hands. They have the blueprints on everything that exists in this Universe that goes on forever. The Creation itself and everything out there that exists is something beyond all human understanding/comprehension, there are no words to even begin to possibly describe it.

Everything on this planet and in your own personal lives is happening for a specific reason and purpose more than people could ever see/know/realize/understand so regardless if a catastrophic event hits tomorrow the next day or ten years from now all that really matters in your own personal life is to always be prepared on a “Spiritual” level. Once a person comes to a certain realization about life and death they should be 100% content with whatever life may bring their way whether it be today, tomorrow or fifty years down the road. Never forget that death is an inevitability that everyone must face so being "Spiritually" prepared for that which is Eternal in the present is the most important thing. You must also know that the Designers/Creators that are "Family" have the very best intentions and interest in mind for everyone on this planet regardless of what the future brings whether a person can see that/realize it or not.

Always hope for the brightest and most positive future outcome in all things. Hope for the best always and send out that intent hoping for the most positive possible outcome in all things. Dream a Dream, but keep in mind whether the end to this short and temporal journey/experience comes for you today, tomorrow or fifty years down the road it will eventually come to an end and could happen at any given moment so simply be wise and remain “Spiritually” prepared in the present day and hour.
