Real First Contact, how would We deal with it?

Many of you have seen the movie called '©District 9' where aliens are part of our reality 20 yrs on. The aliens, called 'prawns' live in a ghetto like existance among humanities garbage in africa.

I got to wondering what reality might be like with alien species here, and about what might happen when they arrived, would military control everything, would they try to kill the aliens?

What are your thoughts regarding what reality might be like post ET?
In your country, or anywhere in the world.
Im not sure how Aussies might react, I think it woul;d be difficult to cope with, for me atleast.

I would offer the best hospitality, try to make friends with some. If I had to ask them a question, I'd just want to know what their homeworld or solar system is like, compared to ours. Basically questions about their culture. I'd try to avoid topics about technology. The human race is not ready for that kind of advancement. We are far too violent and careless for one another.

You know how some people think the Battle of LA in 1942 was a UFO?

If that was first contact (it wasn't, but just having fun), how did we treat it? Shoot first, ask questions later, we fired over 1400 rounds at it!

You know how Google lists malicious websites that try to attack your computer?

In the galactic equivalent of google which lists malicious planets instead of malicious websites, Earth may be listed similarly to the way Google lists malicious sites:

"Warning, Earth: If you attempt to visit this site you may be attacked."

Earth is a malicious site in the eyes of the galactic federation!

I think it is important to let them know that we will be using force unless matters are conducted on our terms.

Should a mother ship enter Earth orbit, the first thing we should do is tell them to go no further and to wait until our security device rendezvous with them.

Once the security device (a set of 3 100 megaton nuclear warheads called the 'daisy chain') arrives in orbit and gets within range of their ship, then we can start talking like adults. The threat of mutually assured destruction aids in creating an atmosphere which is conducive to diplomatic processes.

We should also shoot at them whenever they do anything which we didn't explicitly authorize.

I'm sure we've got something that can destroy their atmospheric excursion craft. If needs be we can attack nuclear warheads to surface-to-air and air-to-air missiles.

Anything other than absolute obedience on their part should be met with the use of force from our end.

If they don't like it, they can either leave or stick around for the war (If the aliens didn't come to conquer, they will leave at this point.)

I've got a feelings an alien called Babyfart McGeezaks will test us and a few individuals might crap it up for the rest of us and they'll be forced to isolate Earth from joining the galactic community.

That'll be depressing, let me tell ya.

The threat of Mutually Assured Destruction worked out just fine between the terrestrial superpowers. It prevented another global conflagration - one that would have saw the end of us all (most of us anyways).

Welcoming them with open arms - that is dangerous.

They have to know that we will use force whensoever they do not comply with our perfectly reasonable demands.


*Hey I'm already compromising here. If it were really up to me to deal with an arriving alien mothership, I'd say nothing and nuke them.

My PR Corps would say it was a meteor exploding and you lot would all believe me - because aliens don't exist.

I suspect I might handle it relatively well, only because I've thought about it for some time already. But in general people just wouldn't know what to think, because it would be so new to them. All kinds of wild conspiracy theories have popped up over the past few decades, and if alien contact was made, nobody would know what was true anymore. (That's not to say that disclosure shouldn't happen. The longer it gets put off, the more wild theories will take root.) So certainly there would be some degree of chaos. And some fringe groups would take it to the extreme, no doubt. Just look at that cult of people who killed themselves simply because Halley's Comet was flying by.

The best thing would be to try to maintain steady and transparent contact with them and keep the people as informed as possible. The less information they have, the more they are forced to rely on their imaginations. Of course some would always claim lies, but there's not much you can do about that.

What would the US Government do? I think it depends on where the power lies. If our government really is run by the President, and the alien contact were enough of a public event, I think there would be some effort at diplomacy, to find some mutual understanding with these creatures. We would have to be VERY careful, though. I'm sure all the military organizations would set to work to try to learn as much as possible about their technology, but I don't think they would try anything hostile as long as they answer to the President.

On the other hand, if it's really a shadow government or some black paramilitary organization that's pulling the strings, my guess is that they would just try to steal or shoot down an alien ship and try to learn the technology as quickly as possible. After all, a military organization is supposed to try to know as much as possible about the fighting capabilities of other societies, in order to better preserve our own security. Getting a hold of an alien ship, or better yet an alien ship with some captive / dead aliens in it, would be a gold mine to these people. It might provoke this alien society which probably has the ability to instantly annihilate us, but unfortunately this would probably be worth the risk to such a military-related group. This is just how they think. Always assume that everybody's out to get you. I don't know if this would result in some horrible retaliation or if it would actually yield something "valuable." It depends on the aliens, I guess.

Anyway, as far as post-alien contact, I think that if we could somehow get on friendly terms with an advanced race, it would be incredible. Even if we didn't trade any technology, it would be the dawn of a new era for anthropology and science in general, and I think as a species we would be greatly inspired to try to reach a similar level of advancement. What kind of world did they come from? What kind of music would they have? Would they even have any music? Would they have everything we have, only more advanced? Or would there be some aspects of human culture which are unique to us, and help to define our civilization when compared to theirs?

And if we COULD trade technology, who knows what would be possible? Maybe a halt to the aging process (virtual immortality). The ability to travel across the galaxy, or maybe even to OTHER galaxies. Entertainment systems that seem to transport you directly into the "movie" or "game" environment. Maybe we could improve our own brains and become a more mentally capable species. I guess it would depend on what they're willing to share with us, if anything.

I think first contact will go just as the Twilight Zone episode "To Serve Man" from 1962. Check it out if you have not seen it, the description of of the episode says:

here is a blurb i posted on another site about first contact based on the ETs I am in contact with:

They can't answer this question directly due to other ETs not wanting them to. But I speculate they will do something like make all global media(force if they have to) say first contact has occured, with the UN(what else. they are super fair so they wouldnt give it to one country over another). After the people calm down a little bit they would probably show physical evidence in the form of large ships over some major cities. UFO sightings will probably go up so much that all you would have to do is go outside for a while and you would see one.. At this point it should really set in how big this is to people. After that they will announce telepathic circles to get to know the ETs involved in our planet. They say numerous will be going on in every country, but not segregating the people of countries to only their own people. While this is happening they will cure something huge like aids, to prove to the world they are not hostile, and to stop or at least lower fears.

The races who are benevolent and nice will probably ALL be showering our planet with gifts. Fruits, or cures for diseases/ailments, possibly new pets like dogs and cats but different.

People will be glued to their TV's or internet if they are not in a telepathic circle(they watch people and how they treat the planet/people/pets etc to see if they would be worthy of a early telepathic circle invite).

It will probably be the most interesting time in the entire history of our planet. The good ETs intend to involve everyone, including the pygmies in the jungle.

There a lot im missing, and I may be wrong about some things. But that is my general idea from knowing them, and taking an educated guess(with channel help but no guarantee on how accurate it is

First time i wore no shirt, second time, no pants. Everything is nuance. To instill a degree of uncertaincy is a positive thing. To determine if the aliens possess a sense of morality is of immediate paramount importance. My aliens displayed a strong reaction when i appeared before them in red underwear. I don't have any pictures of the ones I am in contact with. Nor do I even have a camera

My contact with them is mostly limited to telepathic contact(the majority), and some mental imaging. They have altered my chakras a bit(in both good and bad ways).

I have only seen one once, and it was a negative encounter with a grey.

I was flicking my lighter to see in the dark woods and it lit up a greys eyes about 4 feet in front of me. Synthetic fear shot up my chakras, it went up to my throat chakra and stopped there with a burning sensation that felt kind of good.

The main good ones I'm in contact with are blond, and are called the Nordics. They supposedly have perfect bodies and are very attractive.
