I am interested to know if anyone has a journal of their spiritual development. I have always been meaning to write one, but never quite got round to starting it. I think it would be fascinating to be able to read through your day to day experiences and see the changes that have occurred over weeks, months, years.

Although I can see clear changes in my development, having not put anything to paper I bet there is so much I have forgotten.

So has anyone documented theirs so far? If so what changes have you noticed? These could include experiencing more phenomenon day to day, to any difference in clairvoyance, clairsentience etc. Have you learnt anything from just reading through your journal? Any surprising discoveries you didn’t think would happen?

I’m really interested to hear what any of you have to share, perhaps you may think it is a silly idea, even so please leave a comment.

Peace

Yeah iv been keeping one since the start of feb and its already up to 18,000 words. But that does include dreams as well. To be honest there is way too much to write that I generally only write epiphanies that I dont want to forget, most of these are only one line long but others need a page to describe something that the english language really cannot. Most of it would not make sense to another person for this reason, so it is just a reminder for me to more clearly look back to the moment. I havnt really had the time to look back lately, even though I cut back work to develop myself full time. I do take the occasional peek and am amazed at how much takes place in just a week. I was just listening to jwr and the guest said one can get through 10,000 years of development in just one year with the energy changes/influx! Looking back at the start of the journal feels like years ago, when its only been a few months.

The bulk of my transformation from atheist to spiritual was not recorded, although the memories of those first aha moments will stay forever. Plus all is recorded, just not in my journal. I know ill be able to look back on this lifetime from the clarity of time/space with fondness so I dont feel the need to record everthing because I want to live in the now moment for the time being. But I also dont want to forget amazing insights Ive gained and find it hard to drop the thought and move on for fear ill forget it (which hasnt happened yet) so I write it down then off to the next question/mystery I go.

It was something those of Q'uo said that made me start one

Entities Need to Start a Journal
One way that could be looked at is the use of a journal and that technique known as journaling. In allowing that flow of consciousness that stems from the deepest emotional levels to flow onto the page, often much is revealed and brought to the surface, especially if the intent is put out that there is willingness, a desire, intent to look at the deepest issues that may still be blocking the individual's growth and development. To put this intent out, to write it out on the page itself and then to allow the flow of consciousness through will be a very enlightening, revealing, even healing experience for many

Thanks for the reply Warrior.

It's great to hear another person keeping a journal. Good to hear you record your dreams aswell. I think thats very important to help aid with recognizing anything that may have happend in the astral etc, to help notice, patterns, signs, symbols aswell.

I agree that it's a good idea to keep it more short and sweet rather than full blown logs of everything that has happend. I think when i start mine im going to do entries per day but only include main points of what happend.

I bet, it is amazing how much can happen in such a short space of time. Imagine what it would seem like after years lol. I really regret not doing this sooner.

Plus all is recorded, just not in my journal.

Are you talking about the Akashic Book of Records?

Thanks for the interesting quote. When i was reading through the Golden Dawn there was a point mentioned about journals which really stood out, and made me decide that i've already left it to long and need to start. Il try and dig it out later.

The next step is to acquire a notebook of some kind and begin to keep a magical journal which must be kept daily, even if is only to quickly jot down that no work was accomplished on a given day, or that one was ill. I have heard so many excuses throughout the years that journal keeping is cumbersome, purposeless, or simply not convenient, but the journal is essential. Not only is it a means of keeping track of one’s progress, but it becomes the means of an active dialogue with the inner world and one’s unconscious. The way is which a journal is kept can be as varied as is appropriate to any one personality, but apart from the date and time and a record of one’s magical work; dreams, fantasies, body sensations, events of the day, synchronicities, astrological aspects and transits, and spontaneous imagery can all be incorporated at the choice of the student.

This is in the first few introductory pages of the GD and sums it up pretty well.

Peace

Well not just that, when we experience time as a linear progression in space/time we think what has passed is behind us and we cant go back. But in time/space where we experience three dimensions of time we can go back in time to fond memories as easily as I could walk to the other side of this room. So when time is traversible, nothing in the past is ever lost.

But I also think all is recorded somewhere, able to be accesed from within the incarnation. Ive never been to the akashic so im really not too sure whats there, manbird1200 has I should ask him if all human experience from all incarnations resides there, rather than just hilights/archetypes/revalation/epiphany man words are hard to choose with this stuff.

I agree, time does not exist, it is just a device used for our own convenience. Yes there are ways to to go into past events, even possible future events, but i think a journal is to write down whats happend and record it for practicalities sake.
