Its a shame that poor guys camera was mistaken for a gun. But, thats what you're risking when you go into a "hot" zone.
This is a tragic situation. Unfortunately, Im sure this isnt the first time something like this has happened, and surely wont be the last...
If anything, the sheer firepower alone the U.S. possesses should make people think twice about threatening us.
Personally, I think David and Goliath was a fluke, and usually the Goliath always wins.
Its never a pretty sight when innocents get caught in the cross hairs. This sort of thing happens in many different environments. Ever heard the phase, "guilty by association?" I had a reporter friend who was interviewing a known L.A. gang for a piece he was writing for our local newspaper. It was broad daylight. Cops showed up on the street to do a drug bust, and got into a shootout with some of the gangs, he tried to take cover from the police fire, but one of the gang members suspected my friend of being an undercover agent, (since he was there right before the raid happened) and shot him in the back of the head.

I just did a search on Reuters and strangely enough they're not covering it. I would have imagined out of all the agencies they'd be the first to want in on this action.
Strange, don't you guys think?
