I really wish I had not watched that now. I am at work. That's all I need is for my co-workers to see me a 6'-1" 180lb man sobbing at his desk. I can not express in words how I feel....my feelings are ranging from complete and utter sadness for the families of these men and the poor innocent children that were murdered....to out right rage at our own military for doing this. I love our military but this is disgusting. This requires JUSTICE!

There's no RPG's clearly visible anywhere. They're pretty large so there's no mistaking them, to an educated eye, at least. Those 2 guys appear to have AK-47's, but that's as common there as handguns or hunting rifles are in Texas.

We can only see about a half foot of something sticking out from behind the wall where that guy is crouching, and it could just as easily be a zoom lens on his camera. If it is an RPG it's something of a mystery how he concealed it so well beforehand.

The "action" in the video transpired over a period of about 3 minutes.

There has been back-and-forth analysis of blow-ups of the images going on for an hour here on ATS.

hindsight really is 20/20

Gonna get flamed here but this video is really nothing special. It is disturbing but it is war. All I really see is propaganda. They saw insurgents, they killed insurgents. Collateral damage is all it is. This is why I am against the war but this video isn't bringing our boys home anytime soon and the MSM has no need to pick up on this story nor will they. You may not like what I am saying but if this is some big video for you, then congratulations you're finally starting to see what war is. Be warned there is much worse out there and this stuff is coming from the other side as well. Flame on people, wikileaks showed nothing special aside from a video of a war zone, wait an hour after you come off that cloud you're own and you will see what I mean.

Your "boys" have done some pretty disturbing stuff over there. Stuff that hold no excuses. Blowing up sheep, rape and other gross and dreadful stuff. War or no war, there is no excuse, none at all! And this video you can clearly see that they were enjoying themselves while killing them innocent people that held no threat what so ever. You can stick up for them all you want, but most people will disagree with you.

I don't know what's worse. The fact that you're right about this being nothing new, or the fact that there have been far worse war crimes committed by the US.

You have to admit however, this video is a step in the right direction. Hard proof of collateral is something the public was never privy to during the corporate controlled media days of the 70s, 80s and 90s. Our new digital age allows for us to see the horrors of war close up, and hopefully reveal the truth of lives that were mysteriously lost. The Pentagon can't keep secrets forever, and technology is proving this everyday.

I just imagine that those are your kids and will be nothing special for me, propanganda, yeah right, insurgents!??? what the F!@# we are invading a country!!!!!! they are not insurgents!!! Its soo sad how the mass media create drones that will laugh at human misery if its not at their doors. Shame on you, really.

Their body language does not reveal any "insurgent" or aggressive behavior. This is a crime against humanity. Period.

This is absolutely disgusting. Fighting for freedom? For us? Never will I claim to be proud of any armed forces. These were real people. They had families and friends just like any one of us. Look how helpless they were......and they want us to believe that these people could take down America. We are the terrorists.

The world had better take notice of this Disgraceful and heinous act.

Those Trigger Happy Soldiers couldn't work out that was a Camera he was Carrying and that RPG, was that the Camera Man trying to take a Photo of the Helicopter? There was no RPG there at all.

If the rest of the World doesn't take notice and take action, then i'm afraid the rest of the World is is just as Bad..

The way those Soldiers acted has Brought Shame upon not only themselves, Not only on the Marines but the Whole of America.

This Video should be shown on every TV station on Prime Time News so it

can reach as many people as possible..

Obama would surely have known about this.. Shame on you Obama, Shame on you..

I am so Angry right now.

Would you have been able to tell the difference if you didn't already know it was a camera? It's pretty easy to second guess decisions when it's not your ass on the line. To me this seems like a very tragic mistake.

Are you serious? Please, Please tell me your not.

From the outset you can see, as plain as day, that that was no weapon slung around the shoulder.

Let's say it was a weapon? Just to humour you.. Ok? Did you, at any time in that video, see anyone including the Cameraman, point anything at the Direction of the Camera taking the Video? Only one person pointed anything in that direction and that was the fella behind the Corner with a Camera..

The soldiers had already made up their mind to shoot them to bit's. You could hear how they were just itching to cause some carnage.

That group of people were walking down the street, minding their own business. They weren't even interested in what was going on because they thought they were safe..

So, let's say your right on all counts. How do you explain them firing on the Van that pulls up to help? How could the Soldiers have even considered that a threat? How can you explain them Mocking those Children?

I'm tired. It's 4:00am in the morning. I've had no sleep because I wanted to wait and see this video.
I'm not in the mood for this..

I watched the video, but only to about the 5th minute. I cannot watch this all the way, guess i find that it is too hard to watch. But nevertheless, it needs to be shared as much as possible. It stands as undeniable proof of the madness going on...

Dont get mad and upset when Trained killers, and destroyers.... kill people and destroy things. That is what they do.

Ya... the comment about bringing the Kids to a battle...the guy was trying to justify what just happened, in his mind....to keep sane.

This has happened before and will happen again. I am not shocked at all to be honest.

That video just showed us how "insurgents" are created. The men of fighting age, related to every person who died or was injured that day......will now fight ANY U.S. Military personnel to the death.

Its a vicious circle....and the U.S. politicians are just elated to watch their stocks go up.... landing the no-bid contracts....

I don't blame the voices in the video...I blame the greedy men that sent them there.

Were the reuters journalists also undercover insurgents?

The military cant help it if a bunch of unmarked journalists are running around with RPG toting insurgents, in a warzone.

BTW, here is the guy peeking around the corner, after hes loaded his RPG:

Guy with AK47, far left. If you watch the clip you can even see the shoulder strap.

As sad as the video is, when that man was peeking around the corner, all that registered in my mind was an AT4 CS launcher. He was definitely watching the gunship, whether or not he had foul intentions remains a mystery. You can't expect anyone who doesn't experience war to understand the mindset these people are put in. I don't condemn this attack although it could have been handled in a different manner.

War is all about killing, you can't expect to be at war and not have civilian casualties due to irresponsible command. I think proper surveillance may have altered the outcome, but what were a group of eight to ten grown men doing standing on a corner all carrying "cameras"?

Now the part where the van comes to offer help to the wounded; that should have been handled differently, also he shouldn't have stopped, at least not while he had his children with him, he had to see the settling dust to indicate it had just taken place and that the shooters possibly haven't left the area yet; he had to notice the noise from the bullets, perhaps but not likely the helicopters orbiting above. He had no business taking his children into that zone. I don't think he had it coming, I think he did an ignorant thing based off poor judgment, would ya'll have driven into that area with your children?

Nothing that has happened in Iraq holds a candle to the butchery British citizens committed against Kenyans during the Mau-Mau rebellion. We don't have multiple-angle camera footage from 50 years ago during the Mau Mau rebellion and yet, we can still say with absolute certainty, what happened there was 100 times worse than worst that's occurred in Iraq.

Oh my, what in the world must possess someone to do a thing like this? Things just keep looking worse and worse as time goes on. I do wish our military could just come home, stop all overseas agendas and just come home.

Thank you Brahmanite, star and flag.

Thank you Exuberant1 for the stills, star you you too.

Actually, you can't tell what either of those objects are via the video or pictures.

The first one could be an RPG or a tripod.
The second one could be a gun, RPG, or a camera (it was a camera, btw).

The problem is, these pilots have the ability to zoom in (as shown when they zoom in on the van), but they didn't. They blindly fired on individuals without confirming whether or not they were hostile.

That is murder.

Great points. You are right they were making up scenarios to trigger orders of engagement. I've seen police reports here in America do the same thing to justify an arrest.

The thing protruding is cylindrical , looks like a zoom lens on a slr. An rpgs has a different side profile.

Dude there have been crimes committed in every war by every nation. It is not just the US. Look at the horrendous crimes of torture by the Japanese during WWII or the Germans or the former Soviet Union, or Turkey,or France,..etc,etc,etc. See my point.

Maybe they could have dropped leaflets on the area first informing them there was some confusion as to whether or not he was holding a RPG or a camera, could he please hold it up in the air a little more so they could see it more clearly?
