I just have to ask, what do they need? What can you give them or teach them that will prevent this type of thing?

Take that 15 year old girl and "rehabilitate" her. Step by step.

And that does what, exactly?

Does it guarantee that she won't ever revert to the same horrid behavior level that caused her to do this?

Does it repair the life-long damage she has inflicted on a 7-year old child? Does it erase the memories, the trauma, the horrible nightmare of having these evil men defile her???

Does it repair the moral character of these evil men who are willing to defile a 7 year old girl just for a few moments of sex?

Acts like these call out for justice. And while I believe in God and I believe that God punishes the wicked, there are laws in this country we live in as well and there are consequences for breaking those laws. Some states want the death penalty for raping children. A 7 year old is a child - there is no way anyone can argue otherwise.

I would not be willing to give that sister a second chance to make another horrible decision that would ruin someone's life.

Friend, your actions are not acceptable, so why would I make such exceptions for a child abuser? I am not disputing such a thing as the corruption in the reported case. I am simply stating that returning evil for evil brings more evil into the world. If you are strong, it is your job to make others strong when it is gentle and reasonable. Otherwise, you are just as sick. Don't even dare think that one manifestation of imperfection is perfect compared to another. We are all imperfect and requiring more grace than another is not a shame, but is an opportunity to heal. People are sick of the world being sick, but everyone keeps eating their own vomit and wondering why they throw up again!!!!!! !!!!! !!!!!!!!!

I am not suggesting discarding justice. But none of you are calling out for justice. You are calling out for vengeance. Until you can understand that basic distinction, you all sound like a rock dropped onto a glass building. Justice is healing all involved. How would destroying this broken person make who she broke become fixed?

Our culture has yet to understand justice. And because of our weakness, the weak and broken are cast aside like children who stole a cookie. At some point, children are old enough to be spoken to properly. If they still then do not repent, then of course, there are times in which capital punishment is appropriate. But an eye for an eye fuels a massive private prison system. Our sicknesses makes the arrogant, but intelligent, businessmen of this country wealthy.

Cause...they paid for the ability to rape a seven yo, effect..they forfeit their lives. This is not a weakness, this is a vessel lacking in any humanity what so ever. We're not going to see eye to eye on this, never will, nor would I try to change your convictions......but I'll leave you with this thought as far as life and what you assume I mean.....I do believe in "The Law of Just Retribution" and as such, this would be a fitting end for these pos's. Not all Pagans can be lumped into the love light and happiness that is Wicca, recognizing that there is evil in this word and the different ways of dealing with it, is not a new concept. Again, we'll never see eye to eye on this subject, however, never assume to change anothers opinion with theories you live your life by.

There are perfectly rehabilitatable murderers. Theives. Guys in jail for a bar fight.

THIS is a different bred of crime. It has a component of heinousness that no serious evidence exists that it can be fixed.

I would believe an assassin could be rehabilitated before a man who rapes a screaming child. I would trust a burglar in my home LONG before I'd trust woman who trafficks others' flesh.

Their crimes don't qualify for my honest attempt at understanding and justice.

Life is certainly a theory to the dead.
2nd.

Edit to add-
Call out for Life and it will surely come.
Call out to death and it will surely come.
Either way, what you express is what will be.

OMG!! This story is extremely upsetting, who in the hell would have sex with a 7 year old?? I have a 7 year old daughter, and I would kill anyone who would even think of doing this to her. I would also kill anyone who touched her in that way!! Something is mentally wrong with the 15 year old, seriously!! I am pissed, upset and horrified!!!

There's retribution and then there's adequate punishment for this, and death is too good for them all. I agree with the long sentence (life works) and HARD HARD labor, maybe some chemical castration as well, that's merciful, and amicable.. I also think it's charitable twords the poor girl who had her childhood ripped from her so violently.

So you think a hug and a pat on the back would of prevented the atrocities Hitler committed?

Despite your admirable wishes for it to be so, some people can't be healed.

Where are the parents! It’s not like this just happens one week end. This is something that happens over years. If you take a look at this family you will most likely see what “families” are now like all across America.
This is the very foundation of the downward spiral of our society and it will not get any better.

Protect your kids with every fiber of your being.

The only problem that I have with this article is the date listed.
The date on the article is april 1st 2010.It isn't april 1st yet.
If this article is true...I think the 15 year old should be tried
as an adult, not as a juvenile.

There's a rather more complete (and more depressing) article here www.latimes.com... .

I guess I'm well past being shocked by human sin and degeneracy, and I'm afraid this kind of thing goes on far more often than most people would like to believe.

For the record, I've no compassion for any of the men who participated and nor do I believe it's likely they could ever be "rehabilitated." They don't really deserve a chance at redemption anyway. The most reasonable and efficient way to deal with adults (male and female) who sexually abuse minors is execution. The second most reasonable way is lifetime imprisonment with no possibility of parole. There's disagreement as to which method would actually be the more effective deterrent for people who have pathologies that lead them to offend against minors.

I reserve judgment on the older sister. She may be an irredeemable sociopath. There isn't enough information given. She deserves harsh punishment, but there is always the possibility that there might be something salvageable in her. I'm not really very interested in superimposing cathartic revenge fantasies on an individual so I'll leave the novel and revolting notions for specific punishments up to hotter heads. Sadly, it will probably cheer some people up to learn/realize that the odds of this girl killing herself from the guilt are good. Perhaps some sins are so heinous suicide is the only atonement.

The youngest sister is in desperate need of highly skilled psychological counseling, immediately. It's possible to recover from a trauma like this, but it's a painful and very difficult process. In the right environment, and with the right help, she could still have a happy, bright distant future. This isn't, unfortunately, the most likely outcome but it's the sole pale sliver of optimism that can be taken away from the sordid tale. I'd rather harness my hopes to the possibility of the innocent girl having a good life than mire myself in adolescent revenge fantasies that provide a false sense of empowerment but are really worth less than zero.

Yes, rapists and child abusers need a hug.
(^sarcasm^)

WHAT THE HELL?

Why are people so polar and imbalanced? Of course a hug does not solve this. I don't know why you would construe something such as this, nor do I understand why such an incomplete and unhealthy response was warranted on your part.

There are all sorts of ways to attempt healing in this manner. Just because it is difficult, just because it requires the strong to be strong and aid the weak, does not mean that we should act so childishly.

Use your brain. Use your heart. Use your understanding. Use your soul.
Give to your neighbor as you would give to yourself if you were in the same situation.

If you believe that vengeance is appropriate healing, then your imperfections will be answered with retribution also by Perfection.

What would help this little girl would be for her and her family to move to an entirely different culture in a few months from now. This would help to severe the memories she will associate with her "past life." I am sure there are more thoughtful things to be done as well. As for the criminals in the matter, I am not sure what to do. If I had a hand in the matter, I think I would be able to come up with something appropriate based on who these people are, where they were going before they committed their crimes, whether they are repentant, etc. It simply requires full understanding to make a wise judgment regarding healing. As I said before, I do not discount corporal punishment, but it is not fitting for most crimes.
