article:

Iran is poised to begin producing nuclear weapons after its uranium program expansion in 2009, even though it has had problems with thousands of its centrifuges, according to a newly released CIA report. Iran continues to develop a range of capabilities that could be applied to producing nuclear weapons, if a decision is made to do so," the annual report to Congress states.

No kiddin'. Can we PLEASE either do something about this issue or just walk away. I feel like we (the world) is just sitting around waiting for them (Iran) to actually detonate one or two.

Gonna be a crazy summer I bet.

As if this is mews. As if the CIA lying about WMDs is anything other than standard procedure. Only a fool would take the word of proven liars, and no matter what Obama may be he's not a fool.

Well just a few years ago they were ten years away according to the CIA, now that they need an excuse to bomb Iran suddenly they are capable of producing Nukes. But they still don't have a delivery system making them a threat to the US and Israel And India have hte capabilities of taking them out.

You can't believe anything involving the CIA so who knows. And who are we to tell them they can't have nukes? This is about oil pure and simple and Irans refusal to tow the line and continue to only sell oil for US dollars. Thats what Iraq did and look what happened to them, and Syria is next after Iran. what was Bushes Axis of evil? Iraq, Iran, and Syria all of the nations that refused to cow tow to the US and sell oil only in dollars..

We or Israel will be bombing them soon you can bet on it and sending more of our sons and daughters off to fight and die and be maimed for the profit of these evil bastards!

The moment Israel have proof of Iran obtaining Nukes or if Iran are stupid enough to announce it, they will be toast!

Israel have said there is no way they could live with a nuclear Iran.

They don't mess around and I think other countries around the World and in the Middle East would be glad if Israel made the first move and "removed" the threat shall we say!

We have been worried about Iran for a long time now, not just recently. We have sites up in Qatar with patriot missles aimed in at them incase they try to attack our soldiers there. Also they are more advanced in technnology than we originally thought. While I was in Iraq we had a hangar that we stored some kind of A/C that was shot down in Iraq. We didn't know what it was untill the media somehow found out before the people guarding the damn thing. (we were guarding the thing like it was a UFO or something, deadly force authorized if anyone tryed to get in) it turned out to be an Iranian UAV that was flown in Iraqi airspace to spy on us. It was shot down and convoyed into Balad or Joint Base Balad.

last report I read from cnn I believe said they were at 3-4 enrichment. A from cry from a Nuclear capable nation. This has more to do with Iran talking about moving to the petroeuro instead of the petrodollar IMO. Plus ICBMs are rather large and need capable launch platforms. Instead of little trailers or storage sheds like we were shown in the lead up to the Iraq war, we need to see some proof. Silos with missiles in them, large trucks w/ missiles on them next to a large chemical fuel truck, or launch platforms not unlike the shuttles use. \

Big rockets don't usually get filled until the launch is imminent, so rockets don't usually go to far from the fuel supply. Maybe with the newer rockets they can be fueled for an extended period of time, but not low technology.

Here we go again with Iran supposedly having nukes.

They said the same thing with Iraq, and then they came out and said they lied.

Is the world going to be fooled again? We shall see.

There instructions for the production of these weapons ALL over the internet. Almost anyone with a decent knowledge of physics can make one. The hardest part is getting the Uranuim, beryllium, Lithium, etc.

Once im rich, however, im taking a trip to Iran to buy some uranium!

Love the fact the headline says they are 'capable', yet the report mentions they are working on 'Iran continues to develop a range of capabilities that could be applied to producing nuclear weapons'... ie the things there working on 'could' be used to produce nukes in the future...

could, would and capable are all very different words. Iran could have future capabilities to direct towards a nuke? yes, Iran would direct said future capabilities towards a nuke? maybe... Iran is currently (as the headline indicates) capable of producing nukes?, going from that report, no.

Love it when news headlines are grossly exaggerated to get a specific reaction (im not talking about the OP but the Washington Times).

I dont love Iran, but I dislike reactive journalism more... they need to report the news, not try to steer reaction (a lovely trait of the American media).
