Dr. Millard Rausch: "The normal question, the first question is always; are these cannibals? No, they are not cannibals. Cannibalism in the true sense of the word implies an interspecies activity. These creatures cannot be considered human. They prey on humans. They do not prey on each other, that's the difference. They attack and they feed only on warm human flesh. Intelligence? Seemingly little or no reasoning power, but basic skills remain a more remembered behaviors from normal life. There are reports of these creatures using tools. But even these actions are the most primitive, the use of external articles as bludgeons and so forth. I might point out to you that even animals will adopt the basic use of tools in this manner. These creatures are nothing but pure, motorized instinct. We must not be lulled by the concept that these are our family members or our friends. They are not. They will not respond to such emotions."
[the gathered crowd starts arguing]
Dr. Millard Rausch: "They must be destroyed on sight!"

This scenario could get even more horrific. Imagine if Rush, Hannity, Beck, et.al all crashed in the ocean while taking a flight to Costa Rica to obtain health-care. What happens to ditto=heads when there is nothing to ditto??!! Wait, maybe the hungry could feast on the brain-dead, and it would be all good. Nevermind, carry-on with derogatory trolling.

Best,
Skunknuts

make it better... what if AF 1 went down... imagine how the economy would make a turn around if Piglosi and reid were on it as well.... that is hope and change

I think america would do quite well with zombies, they have the largest amount of public with firearms, now if it was in canada, it would be a disaster, with people throwing bricks and hitting zombies with pieces of wood.

I'm a veggie, so I don't care.
Oh, and I'm a veggie who is quite talented with a sword...so I'm fairly sure I'm safe.

I'm a meat eater who's very talented with a rifle.

Sorry 'bout that.

What I find funny about the OP is that it's titled, "US Cannibal 'Zombies'".

Do you honestly think that if something like this happens around the world, that other countries would act differently?

I'm pretty certain that the Germans, French, etc would be acting the same way if their supply of food was suddenly cut off.

I'm 95% vegan, and I can tell you that, as disgusting a thought as this is, I would do what I would have to do in order to survive to see another day. So .. assuming there is nothing else to eat, how long would it take before I started chowing down on soylent neighbors? Probably about a week. But, I doubt this would ever happen, there really are many other things I'd try to find and eat first (worms, bugs, your pets, vegetation, chemical substitutes, etc.). Humans would all be long gone dead before there was absolutely nothing else to eat. But if I had to, yeah, I'd force myself to eat you. And after everyone else is gone, I'd probably start in on myself next, ha.

Sorry, I often forget how many others participate here. But the fun of the thread title is it was partially geared to getting up in the skin of all the uptight dwelling-in-their-own-magnificance "Americans". Me, I'm a United Provinc'ian.

Are you going to hunt just vegetarians, or go for any useless piece of skin '2 legged rat' that happens to cross in front of your tree blind?

Actually, I've run into many of the "dwelling-in-their-own-magnificance" people in other countries, too.

And you know what? They all taste the same when you serve them up with fava beans and a nice chianti.

Depends. Are they white meat, or dark meat?

The funy thing is I actually have fava beans growing in my garden. They're MASSIVE beans. I would potentially be able to barter my fava beans with them, but in my camp we shoot zombies in the head

Certainly not, ha, I have 3 cats that will need to eat too, and they aren't as picky as I am about what I eat. I'm sure they would love to try some filet mignon humanloin steaks.

Depends on the place, in the city, a few weeks tops due to low wildlife:human ratios, in rural areas i can name about 20 places within a few hundred miles that could and would survive for months without it.

How long would it take for United Statesians to turn cannibal if Walmart, McDonalds, etc no longer had food available?

United Statesians?

I think the better question is what happens when the food McDonalds and Walmart had available IS made of people... you know, Soylent Green style.

Honestly if the infrastructure of society collapses it probably would only take a few years for cannibalism. Once the canned foods run out and start going bad people without the ability to grow/catch their own food might turn zombie but even then I doubt it would be a wide-spread phenomenon.

I was wondering when that would be brought up... Except I heard it was "society is only 3 missed meals away from anarchy". Basically, after 1 full day (brkfst, lunch, dinner) without food, a person wull be willing to go further lengths than normal to get fed. I guess 4 makes more sense. Because I think that most people could go a day without eating but it would be when you woke up the next day and missed breakfast, you would be makin sure you got something for lunch.

I have spoke with some pretty hardcore survivalists, and I can tell you, there are people out there who will have no qualms with eating people. It disgusts me and I was shocked to hear someone speak about it so matter of factly. But people who are trained to survive will do what it takes to survive. I`m sure it would be a last resort, but there could arise situations where you would be forced to make a choice: eat human or die. Or even: murder a person for eating, or die. OR maybe: kill a friend or family member or die. Personally I would just die. I don`t value my life that much to take another`s life. Nor do I care that much if human life continues, let alone my own genes. But then it`s easy to say what you would do. Like I always see people (ok mostly girls) say they would never eat stuff like Bear Grylls on manvs wild, and I always say: "wait until you are starving with NO OTHER FOOD, and you won`t just ask me to go slaughter Thumper the friendly bunny, you will grab the knife out of my hands and butcher the furry little bastard yourself" :^) So who knows how quickly we might sweep our morals aside to satisfy the urge when every cell in your body is screaming at you to put something in your tummy?
