How would you bring down god?

Now, I'm not claiming to be satanist or whatnot. Now don't hound me or bash on me but, If God's angels have had at least 2 revolts against him, now mind you Angels are supposed to be
-smarter then us
-know God better then us
then what does this say about God? Maybe not as all powerful as people make him out to be. What do the rebel angels know that we don't? Discuss.

Which god? There are so many of them you need to be more specific.

Do you mean your own personal god? That would be an interesting question.

If you're talking about a god that other people believe in you would have to get those people to go along with whatever plan you came up with.

Is that what you're looking for here? People to join in with you to bring down this god you're talking about. This is why you need to be specific.

I can't speak to how powerful any presumed omnipotent deity must be (especially when religion makes god out to be like some kind of megalomaniac dictator that demands to be worshiped OR ELSE!!!), but I can testify to his shoddy workmanship. I mean, just take a look at your typical human. If I were god, I'd feel embarrassed and issue a factory recall on the human species and fix some of these problems they seem to have. Of course, maybe that's not within his/her powers. What do you have to say for yourself, god??

Maybe this is where we have to take over from god and get our own scientists to work on fixing our pitiful defective species.

Oh, and if you look at the recent birth defect statistics, it's also become apparent that his/her work is becoming even more shoddy, so maybe it's really time for us to take over where gods powers have left off. I mean good grief, is god sleeping on the job? I read the other week about another kid in china born with a tail. "Were you high or something, god? Was that suppose to be a joke, or what?" Maybe we should just sever our relationship with god and have our scientists take over from here, hum?

For people without idiot in their name that are still confused, God with a capital G is the christian/catholic/similar religions God.

I guess the angels know that, when they don't do what god wants, they get to go to an exciting and hot place were they can proceed to gleefully reek havoc on mankind. On the other hand, men know (claim to know, I should say) that they have to go to the same place if they disobey, but instead of getting to become a stereotypical villain they have to be tortured for all eternity.

Actually, if you want to get technical about it, the Abrahamic God DOES have a name. The Bible (KJV) calls him Jehovah. This is an English translation of the Hebrew Tetragrammaton, Yahweh (YHWH), which is considered unspeakable among the Jews. Yahweh is usually used, especially in atheist circles, to distinguish the God of the Bible from say, Zeus or Marduk, who were often commonly simply called "GOD" by their followers.

Except that people always capitalize the 'G' when they're talking about their own god, their own 'one true' god.

LOL, I have one .. actually, a goddess .. and they call her GAIA. I speak with her often, and I can tell you she totally hates humans now, plans to get rid of them all next year. November, 2011. She told me 45 years ago. I've been trying to warn people but nobody cares, and I think that's because everyone must agree -- the human species is guilty of countless terrorist crimes against nature, and thus they do not deserve a planet like Earth! Doomed they are. 591 days they have left. Good riddance I say.

If God were all-powerful there would be no way to bring him down so why even bother trying?

Note that I'm an agnostic so I don't believe in a particular deity.

If God were not all-powerful why refer to him as God?

The story of the angelic revolt makes no sense because in it Lucifer suddenly becomes full of sin out of nowhere. Christians often say this is the source of evil, or sin, that it just appears in Satan from nothingness. But is it not God's fault for promoting Satan to second in command, for giving Satan a big head about it by doting upon him? The story makes no sense, its a myth.

Ever since I was a little kid I've had this crazy idea that there are two gods, male, and female. The nice god is the female one, mother nature, GAIA, the creator. The bad god is the male, Satan, the one mainstream religion worships, the one that tells us it's okay to kill and eat the flesh and blood of other creatures that GAIA created and no matter what wrong you do you are forgiven/pardoned (ha, yeah, right).

I never cared for the mainstream God, the one that religion worships, nor all of that horrible dogma of theirs. The bible reads like a violent pornographic fantasy novel that someone with a demented brain came up with. Never let children read that nasty book. Burn it. It's evil.

Undoing or redoing what is(?), if it's all wrong to you then it is you against all that is wrong!

I read some where that Lucifer does not know everything because god did not reveal all to him,maybe because he knew he was going to rebel being alpha and omega omnipotent and all,But what i read was that if the devil knew the hidden things which where withheld from them or the truth of things.
He would not have done what he done the war as it is and was futile he can not win. thats all it said.about the war
it was in one of the books i read maybe the book of Enoch or one like it.

I read it was because he would not bow to the new creation which was us because we got free will. He dident like change and we did not get full powers brain capacity and everlasting life but we got a choice right or wrong but that was after the garden i think .So satan might well as some suspect be actually doing what god wanted by tempting us so he can pick the best of the crop the harvest of the earth.

I mean if you was a creator race/god you wouldnt want millions of thieves and warmongers going to oversee new creations now would you

tell you what, when you know who God is, you let us know how you think you will tell him you are gonna out him. Until then, perhaps it's best you figure out your own thing before you drag us into fantasy land.

Here is a hint, God isn't a character in a video game. That is the only thing I can say for certain about him.

Think of God as the sum total of all things, including you. Perhaps the best way to think of God, in this sense, is as a Civilization. Let me take it even a step further and posit this metaphor: Imagine that the reality that you are accustomed to is actually just a computer simulation, that what we call angels are those that live outside of the simulation (but who can visit here by plugging in or whatever), that the civilization that they are from and that runs simulations like this is God and that you were either literally born here and have no real existence outside of this simulation or you are an angel yourself (a member of the outer civilization) and decided to temporarily forget your history in order to suspend disbelief and have a go round playing simulation earth.

While just a metaphor (because the truth is much more exotic and harder to comprehend), I think this is a reasonably good way to think about what is really going on.

If you are able to buy into this metaphor, it will help explain much of this. Basically, this is really just a big video game. That doesn't mean that it doesn't have serious purposes. It very well may and most probably does. But it would mean that there is a lot of fantasy involved.
