Archaeologists have unearthed a 3,500-year-old door to the afterlife from the tomb of a high-ranking Egyptian official near Karnak temple in Luxor, the Egyptian antiquities authority said Monday.

These recessed niches found in nearly all ancient Egyptian tombs were meant to take the spirits of the dead to and from the afterworld. The nearly six-foot- tall (1.75 meters) slab of pink granite was covered with religious texts.

Blows my mind that 3,000 years later we're still finding things as if Egyptian antiquity was just found. Obviously, many would allege we know nothing about anything anyhow.

Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to be a big find, in terms of revealing aliens or ancient egyptian use of nuclear power or atlantis or anything. Interesting, nevertheless.

I just made an interesting coincidental observation from two totally different, yet somewhat similar stories. Allow me to clarify:

Now a quote from the story in this OP:

The significant coincidence is the reference to the "pink" stone and their relative size (the alcove portion in the Peruvian one that is).

This seems uniquely similar does it not? Not to mention these locations are on opposite sides of the globe.

Interesting comparison between the two separate cases. I know it's a stretch, but I've always thought that the Egyptian ankh looks like some sort of key. The ankh is supposed to stand for 'life'. The pharoahs are almost always depicted holding one. What if it's the key to the DOOR of the afterlife? In that case, they might be the means by which to open the 'doors' or activate the portals or stargates. Like I said, I know it's a stretch.

I'm looking forward to the day that we dig TOO deep -- open up a world that we can't even detect for whatever reason. Glowing pits to other dimensions, full of Balrogs...

Still loads being found on Earth... clues are everywhere... i think we should all stop and take a look... we need to know the truth and see the truth before its too late...
