The "Bloop": Could this be the Kraken or even Leviathan?

Ok so I read an article in which oceanic research scientists picked up a recording over a period of several days off of our old military sonar and listening booeys. They determined that the sound must be of biological nature, but that no known animal possessed a large enough vocal organ to produce such a powerful sound that traveled as far as it did (3,000 km between each booey, heard by several booeys!) and that whatever made the sound had to be several times the size of the largest Bue Whale ever found. A creature that immense is on a 'Cloverfield' scale of proportions. They have not heard it since.

My question is, we barely know anything about our oceans, what if *something* that large really exists down there? I mean the kraken was said to be a mile and a half in diameter, and the Leviathan is a biblical creature of even lerger proportions!! It just makes sense to me that giant creature exist deep down, and frankly we probably don't want to disturb them.

If anyone has any evidence or knows of any stories pertaining to a monstrous aquatic creature, please share your thoughts!

Also Predator X was a HUGE aquatic dino, but this came from something several times predator X's size! I mean massive...

Very interesting - do you have a link to any articles? I'd like to read more about it.

Here you go...

Bloop - NOAA

Bloopwatch

The Bloop was heard several years ago. There have been several ATS threads on it in the past, below are just a few - I found a bunch using "search" here..

There's no telling what the Bloop is - we have no data on any animal large enough to make that noise.

That being said, there's plenty of fish in the sea, and other creatures, too.

To quote some Shakespeare:

There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio,
Than are dreamt of in your philosophy."

I mean that there are lots of interesting things to be seen on earth, more than anything we've seen yet.

It's simply Cthulhu muttering in his sleep.

I always found it funny that the Bloop was recorded so closely to the locations of the fictional Ryl'yeh.

That is what I thought too!

I'm thinking if it is one of the two it is probably the Leviathan. The only reason I say that is because most reports of the Kraken happen up north (at least so they say) and that the creature they theorized that could have made the sound would be much larger than even that!

Yes! I even made a google map diagram to illustrate it!

when i was in my 20's i worked in an old soldiers home. One of the guys i worked with was an old Navy Vet of WW2. One day we were talking about his tour of duty and he tells me this story.

He said while on a transport ship going over seas he stepped out on the deck for a smoke late one night and saw something he would never forget. He went on to say that he was leaning on the rail of the deck looking at the water and the stars thinking when he heard bubbling below him. As he looked down at the water he could see the water churning, and then to his shock and amazement a huge dark figure lifted from the water. He said it made no sound other then the water that ran from it, he couldnt make out any details of it. He says it then just sank back into the sea just as it came. He said the watch saw it and a couple of others. He swears on his kids and gran-kids that it's a true story.....

As for me, the oceans are huge and we have no idea whats going on down there, I believe him...

Being a diehard Lovecraft fan, I love when people consider his stories as having at least some base in reality.

Is there any way you could post a pic or screen shot of the map?

Personally, I think the Kraken, Leviathan, Cthulhu are probably all based on the same stories of old. Even Dagon, of Lovecraft fame was actually a real deity worshipped by seafaring tribal cultures ( in Malaysia I think?)

Interesting....

Did he go into details about what the "figure" looked like?

Sounds like it could have easily been the release of large gas bubbles escaping at those coordinates. May have been from underseas seismic activity since those coordinates appear to be close to major tectonic plates.

Location

Plates

that's an interesting conjecture, although i think there would be a big difference in the way bubbles escaping and the way guttural meat flapping of a giant ocean dweller sounds.

This is the kind of stuff that helps me find reason for my natural fear of the ocean. Too damn big. Too easy to just be gone." Well he was just on his board a second ago." Never to be seen again. Screw that!
