Hi all,

As some of you requested a 'heads up' to the next live streaming ghost hunt, well there is another one this coming Sunday from approximately 9pm GMT.

The location is the old MFI (Kitchen/bathroom/furntiure showroom) at Laira bridge in Plymouth, Devon, UK.

This exact location has quite an extensive history. Ranging from the English civil war to todays modern retail area. There was a power station which covered a vast area of the site. When the station was demolished, one man was killed by a flying lump of mud when the chimneys were brought down.

There was an old sulfur works and housing for the workers nearby at one point;
rough details and image of the factories

The original Laira bridge used to require a toll to cross... this was eventually stopped and now a new bridge stands in its place.

Laira bridge 2

We are not yet sure of the exact location, but the area does seem to be the closest crossing to the opposite bank and this would seem to be the ideal location for the civil war encampment that you can see in this map (it is the triangle to the right side of map)
Civil war military camp at Laira
Seige of Plymouth
This is only a couple of miles from the Mayflower steps.

Just along the shoreline to the South and you will be in the Cattedown area. There used to be a quarry here. In one chance discovery, a cave was found containing Human remains. These remains are now in a musuem;

Here is the actual building under investigation. There have been several times where people have heard their names being called. One time a womans voice was clearly heard by two members of staff, though they were both alone in the warehouse.

Lots of 'corner of eye' movement, and also sounds of doors being closed.

and a floor plan;

The coloured dots and lines are for the investigation team so they know the areas of activity.
Roughly,
Red dots = where names are being called, but nobody was there.

Yellow dots = Where two figures were seen, upper one was female holding a flowery cloth bag. Lower yellow dot was just a grey mist in the form of top leg and torso dart across the coridoor.

Blue dot = Where two employees both heard a female cry out 'allen' or 'arwen' or 'owen'...

Light blue dot = Location where an EVP was caught of footsteps and latch door on EVP.

Green dots = prelim investigation Gauss meter spiking rather oddly (21/3/10)

Whit lines = areas of apparent most activity. Odd noises, scuffling, corner of eye sightings.

The live stream will be found on the main page of the investigtion teams main website;
www.ghostfinder.co.uk...
And there may also be another live stream to be anounced on the day. Both streams will be done using a mobile internet dongle. They have been trialled and seem to be ok, but you have been warned that connections may drop or lag a little..
Connection appears to be strong at the location. No other network available.

Updates will be added should any further info arrive..

Nice; we might actually find out what happened to that couch of Christmas past.

Now the DFS ghosts - they're the ones to watch out for!

Worse still are the B&Q boogie men

In all seriousness though - best of luck with it and I hope it's fruitful viewing.

Have been informed that there is also another investigation going on by the other half of the team in a different location this Sunday night at the white heart pub in Bicester oxfrodshire for around 10:30pm and will be starting the invesigations from around 11:15/11:30.

They are hoping to have a livestream setup there... so there will be plenty to watch if they get theirs set up too

TWO livestream investigations on the same night..

almost spoilt for choice

Always the case;

Ghosthunts are like buses ... you wait for ever ... then 2 come along together.

Are you actually partaking in either ... in person ... or will you be watching from your sitting-room and/or office like the rest of us ?

Either way I can't think of a better way to spend a Sunday'Monday ... let the hunt begin.

Hiya Woody

Yes, I am actually partaking in the MFI building investigation

Am currently starting to set up my kit whilst waiting for the rest of the team. We are discovering a few issues which I/we are trying to solve.

One issue, that is totally out of our hands, is that our mobile internet dongles service provider is having an update to its systems today and the link is a bit slow.. we are hoping this will be sorted by the time we go live.

I am about to try to embed the live streams here.. I have asked about it, but nobody seems to know if it will work or not.. so, as usual, another ATS first (hopefully)

embeds of livstream do not appear to currently work correctly ...I will be sure to post the links later... meanwhile you can get to them via ghostfinder.co.uk

Hey there me'dear ... just had a quick look at livestream and although there is some setting-up going on I'm having a problem signing in as 'woodwytch' and a lot of the site features are missing on the page including the chat feature to the right of the video stream (at the moment it's just a blank rectangle with a little white square with a red cross in the middle sitting in the top left corner) ... so far only able to make contact as 'anonymous' at the bottom of live-stream screen.

Just going to cook some dinner and hope it's sorted itself out by the time I come back

If not at least I'll be able to watch ... even if I can't join in with the chat properly.

have been told that it could be that you need to update firefox or flashplayer.. .do both..

That should solve the problem...you were not the only one with that issue and the other person has now rectified it..

hope that helps..

Due to some bad apples that happened to appear in the chat rooms for the live streams and in another chat window, the streams were stopped and all chat closed.

The investigation at MFI, Plymouth, is still ongoing.

Some very interesting things have been caught on camera...

The results will follow as soon as possible. I should be able to get some results posted by Tuesday.

There will be more once the other team members have gone through all the DVR, EVP and handheld camera recordings.

Thank you to everyone who took some time to stop by and see what the fuss was all about

Hey Extralien.

So sorry to hear you had to stop the livestream and chat because of 'rotten fruit'

Unfortunately my computer was really acting up last night and I couldn't access the chat properly anyways.

All I could do was add comments (anonymous-woodwytch lol ) at the bottom of the actual 'stream-screen' which then meant I could only see the top third of the picture (not a good solution) ... so I gave up about midnight.

It was the same for the livestream at the pub too (no idea why the proper chatboxes were just blank).

Hiya Woody

Sorry to hear about your computer..

Thank you very much for your words in the above post, I will be sure to pass them on and I know they will not be met with any harsh or bad feelings..

Your feedback is important to us not matter how good or bad your words are..
We need it so we can help ourselves to provide a much better link in the future.

From last nights session on the live stream, we learnt a lot. We are, as of now, looking into getting the chat messages delayed so that we can moderate them more effectively. We are setting up proper scheduled mods for these sessions also (applications will be considered
)

According to the data about our viewers, I have been told that we had an approximate count of 600 viewers last night in total (both streams).

We believe that these rotten apples appeared from other sites that the live streams had been embeded into, other than our own.. We only had it embeded in one site, and of course the streaming site itself.

Right now, we are going through the video and EVP sessions... Seems we might have been a bit lucky from the reports I have been hearing.. so updates will follow

Thanks Woody, and it was good to see you with us last night...

Hi Guys

@Woodwytch

Thanks for the constructive comments , we have taken them on board and will improve on the points mentioned , allthough i must say that we had a few technical problem that we had to overcome , i suposse that the main problem was the fact that the there was no internet and we had to rely on the dongle that could could not transfer the data fast enough thats why we had to stream it like we did , i have orderd a couple of new IP cams for the next investigations so that problem will be solved , as for group 2 at the pub that will be looked into as well , i had my hands full at the warehouse so was unable to coordinate the pub investigation.

Thanks for listening
Ian

Hey there I'm so pleased (and relieved) that my comments were taken as they were meant ... as extralien said it's the only way to improve things and overall it's alreally good set-up you have there.

The comment delay thing sounds like the way to go.

All that's left now is to wait for the info and hopefully pic updates *kicks computer ans snarls at it
