Obama Twitter account "hacked by Frenchman"

The suspect, who used the pseudonym "Hacker Croll", had no specialist training, Adeline Champagnat, head of the French central office against online fraud, told Reuters news agency.

He gained access to Twitter accounts by simply working out the answers to password reminder questions on targets' e-mail accounts, according to investigators.

This really is like something out of a film! imagine it!, terrible over the top production and a really bad plot, with an even worse trailer, something like "mark wahlburg in his most epic movie yet!"

In all seriousness, i think this is totally crazy, is there ways around stuff like this happening, like maybe people of "importance" could pay for a more secure network, or maybe it's a wake up call that the internet generally needs a bit more security, there has been other stories like this, such as the guys that hacked into nasa!

i geuss when it's someone as famous and important as the president of the USA you kind of start to forget that they are just everyday people like you and me under the media and the label...madness.

From my French point of view, I'm sadly amused by his news. The geek involved into that is a low-life crook, he got like 15 000 euros diverted to his profit by his password-cracking ability. He just "guessed" some of them, the obvious ones, and started stealing money...the rest of his techniques he acquired from electronic engineering basic studies before he was 20.he hacked into Britney's account too...this guy is a loser. He bragged about it to a friend who snitched on him. bad ending, he is facing 2 years in jail.
