The health care reform bill is actually not law yet, it still has to cross the United States Senate and be signed by President Obama but that will happen barring some massive turn of events.
President Obama on Tuesday is expected to sign into law the health care overhaul, but the battle over alterations demanded by House Democrats is just beginning in the Senate.www.washingtontimes.com...
I do have to congratulate the Democrats on this, I didn't think they would pull it off for a while there. I will plead with them however to make this just a first step. There are still quite a few things that the bill does not address, and the hopefully the journey will have America ending with a trim, effective and affordable health care system for all that wish to partake in it.
One of the big compromises that I did actually like in the bill is that the penalty for not partaking in the system is nothing. This is actually a good thing I believe because there are persons for whom there are religious or philosophical differences with modern health care. America has shown with this that they are still willing to protect the rights of minority populations while providing a system in which the majority can have a better quality of life.
Twenty Things You May Not Know About ObamaCare

Now that ObamaCare has become law rather than just the fevered dream of leftie bloggers, it is time to begin discovering what is in it. David Hogberg begins the process at Investor’s Business Daily.
1. You are young and don’t want health insurance? You are starting up a small business and need to minimize expenses, and one way to do that is to forego health insurance? Tough. You have to pay $750 annually for the “privilege.” (Section 1501)
2. You are young and healthy and want to pay for insurance that reflects that status? Tough. You’ll have to pay for premiums that cover not only you, but also the guy who smokes three packs a day, drink a gallon of whiskey and eats chicken fat off the floor. That’s because insurance companies will no longer be able to underwrite on the basis of a person’s health status. (Section 2701).
3. You would like to pay less in premiums by buying insurance with lifetime or annual limits on coverage? Tough. Health insurers will no longer be able to offer such policies, even if that is what customers prefer. (Section 2711).
4. Think you’d like a policy that is cheaper because it doesn’t cover preventive care or requires cost-sharing for such care? Tough. Health insurers will no longer be able to offer policies that do not cover preventive services or offer them with cost-sharing, even if that’s what the customer wants. (Section 2712).
5. You are an employer and you would like to offer coverage that doesn’t allow your employers’ slacker children to stay on the policy until age 26? Tough. (Section 2714).
6. You must buy a policy that covers ambulatory patient services, emergency services, hospitalization, maternity and newborn care, mental health and substance use disorder services, including behavioral health treatment; prescription drugs; rehabilitative and habilitative services and devices; laboratory services; preventive and wellness services; chronic disease management; and pediatric services, including oral and vision care.
You’re a single guy without children? Tough, your policy must cover pediatric services. You’re a woman who can’t have children? Tough, your policy must cover maternity services. You’re a teetotaler? Tough, your policy must cover substance abuse treatment. (Add your own
violation of personal freedom here.) (Section 1302).

List of Constitutional Violations in Healthcare bill
Posted on Monday, March 22, 2010 7:04:02 PM by JimWayne
Article 1, Section 7 - All bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives.
First Amendment (Establishment Clause) and Fourteenth Amendment (Equal Protection Clause) - [Quote: "Exempts from the coverage requirement individuals who object to health care coverage on religious grounds"]: Although the courts allowed the Amish not to pay Social Security tax, this bill would be different if it exempts the Amish and Muslims from participating in the system while forcing the Catholics to participate in it.
Article 1, sections 1 and 8 (Powers of the Congress) and Article 5 (Procedure to Amend the Constitution) - [Quote: "It shall not be in order in the Senate or the House of Representatives to consider any bill, resolution, amendment, or conference report that would repeal or otherwise change this subsection."] - The quoted text effectively amends the Constitution and abridges the law-making authority of Congress. This has been done without two-thirds majority.
. . . .
Fourth Amendment - The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated
Fifth Amendment - nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.
Tenth Amendment - The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

what you are saying, is that you support the fact that government will raise taxes once again in order for the healthcare to go go thru, also if someone that can't afford or can't get health insurance when they were denied previously cause of a condition that they can't get health insurance, being fined for not having health insurance.
Maybe you should read some of the bill first before you comment. just to make sure you have your facts straight. On page 3 section 100 line 5 it states and I quote "The purpose of this division
is to provide affordable, quality health care for all American"
did you know that people that have type 2 diabities and people with certain cancers can't get health insurance. tell me, what are you going to do with them. make them pay a crazy amount of premium? thats retarded.
page 5 "national high-risk pool" Yes the primeums would be high till 2014 when the rest of the bill takes effect but at least they will have coverage. Its a start. Also see page 16 line line 21
btw, the healthcare reform is over 4,000 pages. not a little over 1,000 pages.
check this link docs.house.gov... This is what was just passed 1990 pages. If you want info go to the source.
other states have already agreed to file a lawsuit once Obama signs it.
Yes this is true but it would never pass. For this to be repealed it would require the potus to sign it. If the take it the courts then they will see how this no more infringes on the state sovernighty then social security or medicare. this would be a nail in the coffin of the GOP.
Congress has clear authority to pass this type of legislation and under the supremacy clause that makes federal law supreme.
this reform will bring in less jobs, meaning more people laid off, higher premium rates for people that have health insurance, since less jobs will come, then less money will be put out in other retail markets, state and federal taxes will go up, less and less small businessed will start dieing out, market collapse, lets just say that USA will end up like Greece in the end. Bankrupt. this is not going to resolve anything other then the government getting more money in their pockets.
Sounds to me like your trying to pass your opinion off as fact. Show me some proof on this
out of curiousity, can you tell me 1 good thing that Obama has done to help this country? i can't think of anything so far. fyi i am neither democrat or republic, so that has nothing to do with it.
Well lets see the biggest of course is health care, set a withdraw date for iraq and and a timetable for afganistain, pushed us back from the brink of a full blown economic depression, has saved/created jobs through his stimlius package (fyi just as with bush I was not a fan of the stimulis package but they both worked), vastly improved the way the rest of the world thinks about America, here you can look for yourself. www.politifact.com...
