What does someone have to gain in accomplishing something like the Unibomber did?

What does someone have to gain in accomplishing something like the mastermind behind the hijackers of 9-11-01 did?

What does someone have to gain in accomplishing something like Timothy McVeigh did?


Do you think there will ever be more Unibombers, Timothy McVeighs, and 9-11s?

They gain nothing because they are extemely sick individuals who get what they deserve for what they have done.

But i don't see how what they are gaining is important.

What they did was horrific and i should hope they gain nothing from it.

He is suggesting what out take on their view is. What end did these people expect to gain?

Well if that is what the OP was getting at then i'm sorry for the confusion on my part but i really would prefer him to come out and clarify it at least or even add a bit more to his opening post.
