Survival Commune Anyone intrested????

I live in central mississippi the location from a major metropolis is 3 hours in any direction,there is a small town nearby 1 traffic light 1 story hospital..the nearest wal-mart is 20 miles both direction.i have recently come upon 5 acres of land it is to much for me and my wife to maintain i can also option the adjacent 20 acres i was thinking myself and other like minded could start a survival commune to pay for the land.the climate here is great today its 77 race religon or political affiliation doesnt matter anyone have any good ideas let me know

Sounds cool to me, is there a price to be paid? What are the requirements? Just the ability to work or what?

It won't work.

Just as you get going, the police will get a call from an insane woman in Colorado saying that you are abusing your kids. Then Child Protective Services will send in a goon squad with body armor, automatic weapons and armored personnel carriers to kidnap your children. While you fight the courts to get your kids back, they will be put in foster homes where they will be drugged and raped.

do you have wooded land? is it hilly? any picures you can post?

Better off keeping something like this to yourself and people you know in your immediate area that you trust allready. Nothing against the people of ATS, but there are bad apples everywhere. As posted, if you get too big, your commune looks like a camp or a cult to outsiders.

I think its a great idea.

Instead of freaking out about putting our info online. Because what are we going to do, send smoke signals each other. They monitor all communication. There's no getting around it.

So yes we should set these up in everystate. Why not?

You could offer a greeenhouse and a burried shipping container on a 1/4 of an acre, pretty cheap as bugout cabin. Heck you could even lease them, offer to take care of the gardens and greenhouses.

But you have to stay pretty small. The other posts are correct about unwanted drama.

no i allready have the land no money out of pocket i just want to have people who want to roll up there sleeves and build a safe area of sorts like i said the land is in hand the orginizing needs to be done i repeat no money needed

ok here is the meat of it i am not related to any political party,i am not a vegetarian i have a wife and a daughter(4)after getting out the army in fort hood texas i moved to Houston texas the wife and i agreed to move to a more rural area to raise our daughter..we came across a good deal on some land and its to much to maintain for us we are not survival nuts but we prepare for the worst and hope for the best..anyones religion is okay as long as your not a satanist..if you don't beleive in god that's your business but satanist well that's a horse not fit to ride me and the wife thought it would be an idea to start a law abiding place where people can come in case of a disaster not a everyday thing

I think it's a helluva idea and very generous of you and your family to make such an offering.

When the time comes, there are going to be millions and millions of people that will only be looking out for themselves and will more than likely screw over anyone that gets in their way.

I wouldn't worry about any of this crap about TPTB tracking you down or be worried about a huge insurge of people looking for shelter just because they read it on the internet.

When the SHTF, most people aren't going to be level headed enough to remember what they read on the internet, unless they made preperations and plans before hand to meet you in Mississippi.

let me relay a true story that happened around my parts
back in the early 80's.

My best friend's dad was an arrogant SOB. He was into martial
arts, guns, survivalist, disrespect of gov authority type. He made
his own laws at home when it suited him. He had a wife and
5 children, 3 boys, 2 girls. Not all of them by the same woman.

Anyhow, he made his own 24 X 24 underground cement bunker
that operated without power and had his guns, ammo,
supplies, rations, etc in his bunker. His neighbors knew about
his bunker but didn't think too much about it other than he was
just plain eccentric. One day his youngest daughter broke one
of his rules, she was a teenager at the time. He tried to correct
and discipline his daughter and mother interfered. He wound up
shooting his wife and daughter both in the head, killing them
instantly. He didn't commit this murder in his bunker but in his
house. None of his other children were present but he called his
son to explain why he did what he did. He set his house on fire
to cover the evidence. There were 3 charred bodies recovered from
the house. The 2 females were identified from dental records
however, the 3rd body was never identified cuz he never went
to a doctor or to a dentist and was never fingerprinted. It was
rumored that he went down the road and killed a Mexican migrant
worker and drove his body to his house to play it off as himself.
All 3 bodies were shot in the head at point blank. 2 days later
there was a missing persons report filed with LE for the migrant
worker. He had no records available either, so the investigation
was inconclusive as to the 3rd bodies identity. Case was never
solved. However, the son taughts from time to time that his father
beat the system. I say all this to remind you. When you start
involving yourself with a movement that is not adherent to any laws,
then you open yourself up to the atrocities which occur from
within. There is no justice among thieves or criminals.
So you better be damn sure you know who you are dealing with.

I'm all for splitting up this country into sections in which people think alike. As long as we continue to be the USA and no other foreign nation is dumb enough to tick us all off. actually the land i was given.was because someone somewhere in a white family thought to return the 5 acres of land that my great great great grandfather bought after his release from slavery he lost the land to the family's father in the early 1900's.this family felt it would be the right thing to do and being this is a small town it was given to another relative who passed away and it was then given to me to develop.so actually i am of african american blood.but an American at heart i see no colors or relegious diffrence but i do see when my country or rather my government is not doing what they are sworn to do.no i i'm not one of those the south will rise again ut one of those america will rise again
