I was going thru some of the recent debates in this forum yesterday. Thought
this would be a good way, to help those who seek more understanding and truth.
Suppose very soon man creates an artificial intelligence, programmed to find evidence, for the existence of God, on this planet? The very first evidence, the artificial intelligence would come across, would be The Bible. It would probably
think that a communication, from this supreme being, would be the first thing, one
should look for. Then it would proceed to investigate.

Who can say how much time it would need, before it declared, The Bible has to be the word of God. Therefore it is evidence of his existence. I have all the confidence in the world, that this would be it's conclusion. It's search would start and end with The Bible.

The first thing this intelligence would notice IMO? Most likely, it would be the fact, that it is a book made up of sixty six individual books written by forty different authors over a period of about fifteen hundred years on three different continents in as many languages. Yet it all meshes together without contradiction. Considering a cop at the scene of an accident, can ask nine different witnesses, what they saw and get nine different stories. I'm sure the intelligence would find this fact, most interesting. I know, there are many who will think of something they can point to in the Bible that is a contradiction. Please don't. It simply won't happen.

Next this intellect upon examination of the prophecies in the Bible. Would see these predictions of future events fulfilled as impossible, except for the being that it was programmed to find evidence of. No other prophecies from Caycee to Nostradamus can be seen to give the kind of detail, or for that
matter the accuracy, found in Gods word.

Then this A.I. cyborg, would next have to consider the authority, the text has had over a countless number lives thru the centuries. I know of one vietnam veteran who would no longer be alive if it weren't for the power in Gods word that changed his life. Drug addicts, conmen, satan worshippers you name it. One power has the ability to save and change lives. The Bible is that power.. Jesus Christ doesn't make freaks out of people, he makes people out of freaks.

I'm sure it's historical accuracy would be looked at. Archeological evidences weighed. The integrity of the authors God used would testify to it's truthfulness. It's many scientific references would all be found accurate and there are many. An example? How about the discription of a binary star system, or that there is weght to the wind and air. The universe will end someday. Just for starters.

It is an absolutly exquisit example of ancient literature.

There are others, but finally the absolute immortality of the text would be seen by this A..I. as I see it. So many attempts to destroy it. That havn't even come close. The amount of hate the world has for The Bible, even more so in todays world, it's very survival would seem a miracle. As I believe it
pretty much is. From Roman Emperors to Communist Dictators to the Atheists, Agnostics, Evolutionists and New agers. Gods word? INDESTRUCTIBLE.

An artificial intelligence programmed to find evidence of God on this planet, would not have to look very long, very hard, or very far. So much confusion so many willing to remain confused. A claim of ignorance do to confusion won't help anyone on judgement day. God has made himself all to accessible through the revelation of his word in the Bible. Just wanted to make that clear.

Pretty sure the AI would read the good book, see it's not really that good and get on with something more productive - all within a nanosecond.

Now it's contemplating existence and/or origins might be something that I'd like to read.

He was saying the robot probably wouldn't think the book is good, the robot would probably explode with all the contradictions.

Just sharing a different viewpoint - I share mine and you share yours.

I'd like to think that AI would see in every story the same characteristics of the human condition and be a better mentor for us than we can achieve ourselves.

Only through listening to something that is vastly superior to us in intellect and reason can we hope to attain something of the divine nature of being.

IMO

That was very well said and I can only agree.

Actually, I hate to burst your bubble but, the Bible does have contradictions and this would confuse the A.I. to the point of Short Circuiting and letting out it's smoke. (Everything Electronic runs on Smoke..If you haven't noticed, when devices let their smoke out, it doesn't work again).

Anyhow, back to my point.

A.I. would have to get confused somewhere between Cain Murdering Able and then Going out to find a Wife. A bit hard to do if you're the only couple of fella's on the Planet.

Eve only had two children, Cain and Able. How did Cain get a wife?

One of the the 10 Commandments states "Thy Shalt Not Kill" and the other has something to do with Incest, Doesn't it?

Anyhow, Now I'm confused..

Its very clear friend, its just sad that many wonder around lost and still cannot see he placed ways for his herd to make it back home if we all just look hard enough. And I do agree that his word is indestructable and that should be a sign through the times that it is no imaginary deity but the true CREATOR OF ALL THE ALPHA AND OMEGA, nice thread OP F&S hope the GOD HATAZ DONT BATTER THIS TOO MUCH GOOD LUCK......

Yet this is exactly what occurs in the Gospels. You have four different accounts of one event and each one describes it in different ways. Not only that, but there are slight contradictions between the Gospels. Such as when Jesus was brought before Caiaphas and the other Jewish elders. Each Gospel describes this event in very different ways.

You will have to do better than the movie contact if you insist on going against what I asked. Nowhere does it say eve only had two children.
Nor does it say at what point in life he took a wife. As a matter of lineage
she must have been his sister.

Describing something differently dosn't mean contradiction. Petty.
That's exactly not.

If that was all its capable of, its not "Intelligence", its just artificial!
You could program a computer to read the bible and make a conclusion given a pre programed database of religious ideas from which to work.
And I wouldnt put that much trust in Microsoft LOL

(Everything Electronic runs on Smoke..If you haven't noticed, when devices let their smoke out, it doesn't work again).

LOL, Im sorry but is that a "Blonde" joke ? Its Hilarious!

come from all walks. I hope your point isn't that Jesus did that cause
she's just scary.. Sad really. Her relatives trying to cope.

I like this thread. You make a great deal of sense here. You explain it so well.
It seems that you represent the truth my friend, this will not go un-rewarded. The same is true for anyone else that stands for truth and justice.

Great thread. I very much enjoyed it.

Spread the word.

Thats the most disturbing video ive seen in a while LaughingGod

I think she overdid the expressos down at the Bible Group that day!

On A serious note, I feel genuinely sorry for her being so messed up and deluded and losing touch with reality. Poor woman, god bless her bewildered soul.

Thought I'd chime in here before the bible bashers shout this thread into pages of irrelevent arguments.

I like your idea here, it would be intersting...
Could the A.I. then be said to have Faith?
I comend yours!
