On April 1st 2010, there will be an interesting Show on the Television for viewers that evening.

(No it's not an AM April Fools Joke)

Ani mal Planet Presents a World Premiere Feature-Length Documentary, BEASTS OF THE BIBLE

Film Investigates the Most Famous and Mysterious Bible Animals, and Reveals Biblical Support

"In BEASTS OF THE BIBLE we took a fresh, faithful approach both visually and intellectually to the iconic Biblical stories that all of us know," said Producer Ric Esther Bienstock. "I think audiences will be truly surprised by the information we've uncovered about some of the beasts they have been hearing about since childhood."

Producer Simcha (Sim-kah) Jacobovici (Ya-KOH-boh-vitch) adds, "Did you know that, when facing Pharaoh, it is not Moses that throws down his staff; it is his brother Aaron and, according to the original Hebrew, it did not turn into a snake but a crocodile? Since the Egyptians worshipped the crocodile god - Sobek, when Aaron's crocodile swallowed up the Egyptian crocodiles, Pharaoh understood that the God of Israel was more powerful than his entire pantheon. All this is lost if the Hebrew word 'tanin' is mistranslated as 'snake' instead of 'crocodile.'"

Both an intensely visual and cerebral experience, the documentary uses a variety of envelope-pushing 3D CGI techniques to bring the Bible's miraculous beasts to life in an in-depth historical, archaeological and scientific investigation of their existence. The experts uncover fascinating insights about Biblical animals that have never been told.

BEASTS OF THE BIBLE is multilayered mystery-solving at its best as investigators delve into the origins of mysterious Biblical animals and examine the scientific facts behind their existence.

Shot on location in Brazil, Egypt, Israel, Canada and the U.S., this eye-popping film faithfully narrates Scripture, decodes ancient writings, unlocks the hidden meanings inside the symbols, and uncovers the most famous and mysterious creatures of all time.

This show will air at 8PM April 1st on Animal Planet

If the Bible, Koran, and the Ancient Texts be of any interest, I suggest this will be a very enlightening show, and one I am looking forward to see.

And for the Main Link... Beasts of the Bible

Ciao

Very cool! Are they going to show us what the Leviathan, Behemoth, unicorns, and dragons looked like too? Can't wait!

How can they show beasts of the bible when they represent governments? Not actual beasts.

Obviously you did not read the link.

The Serpent in the Garden. The Fish of Jonah, etc.

Not THE BEAST, that Dragon, The Desolator of Daniel, Satan, etc.

I'd exercise caution in believing what is shown, or said.

The reason being, this producer, and Titanic producer, James Cameron, an alleged atheist, were the ones who brought us the Lost Tomb of Jesus - in which they tried to prove that they uncovered the bones of Jesus. You can read up on that HERE

From doing a little research on this guy, and his other made for tv stories, it appears to me that his main goal is creating doubt that the Bible is accurate and true.

Just a heads up for those that tune in.

As for his intentions one can only Speculate my friend.

I frankly applaud both of their efforts in Exodus Decoded, despite the ones who wish to speak contrary to it's supposition.

And with that said, it did little to dismiss or detract from the Biblical Account of Moses and the 12 Tribes leaving Egypt.

I myself do not think he is interested in destroying the fabric of Biblical Accounts, but seeking the Truth in these matters, regardless of where they may eventually lead.

Corruption of Scripture and the Church and it's teachings have occured long before the arrival of Jacobovici, and at least he is actually looking into the "meat and bones" of things generally not discussed or considered.

But I do understand how you may have come to your conclusion as well, since when evidence does not support a view the Bible suggests, he does not pull back from the fact that he couldn't find anything to support those Biblical Accounts.

I have watched his Seires, and seen several attempts which to me failed to come to an enlightening conclusion, but you can have everything.

I am just looking forward to seeing what his research finds and the conclusions they offer as to Origins, Meanings, and Conceptions of those conclusions. I am also looking forward to see their interpetations and the Visuals of those Creatures that are not shrouded in the Dark Ages. The open minded premises, those illuminating days offered, still seem to be the basis for all Biblical Interpetations, (Artistically Speaking).

I don't want to see that. It would be a waste of my time.

According to the article, "This study results in a thought-provoking and stirring film that will bring viewers closer to faith..." so my question is, did it accomplish this goal? Why or why not?

Not quite what I had expected. More of a let down, than anything.

Thanks for the heads up, I think I'll give it a miss. The article seemed to waffle and would suspect the show would too since there's very little information on the topic.

THANKS FOR THE HEADS UP.

i ALWAYS enjoy shows that challenge my beliefs and often try twist the truths of the bible - or rather take our consentration away from the main purpose of the Word.

Tannin only means crocodile in modern Hebrew.

In ancient times the word meant basically the same as the Greek Drakon, a large serpentine beast.

Tannin are also associated with Leviathan.

The worst thing is that in Exodus, both Tannin and Nachash are used interchangably to refer to the creatures.

The TV show clearly did not do the research.

The TV show clearly did not do the research.

The Discovery Channel, History Channel, and Animal Planet are owned by the same companies, and the quality of programming has definitely dropped since they were bought out.
