in almond trees, parrots play
frogs scold the heavens

Sadness akin to snow,
Shooed by spring's new morning dew,
Smiles begin to show.

To float into the heavens
like a feather riding the soothing breeze
I am on my own

Windswept mem'ries flights

Loved ones who weep till the dawn

September still mourns ...

Here forever more
darkness close the season for
beauty, cellar door

Spring turns round again
Cold dark cloudy winter days
What betrayal this?

Thank you for teaching me about Haiku. This was my first attempt and I blew it. Instead of three lines I had 4. Therefore I disqualify myself. Thank you ATS members.

No more haiku for this contest.

From now on we must at least hope to break the third place tie.
