I liked his stance on Wars and the Fed, but this is meek and cowardly. I expected better.

Dennis, pay VERY CLOSE attention... I am a constituent of yours, I have voted for you and have supported you. You have done good things for our region in the past, today you BETRAY us! Let this serve as notice to you - if you vote FOR this crap, I will personally campaign against you, go door to door campaigning for your opponent and will work tirelessly to see that you political career ends here and now!

You are a spinless coward no longer deserving of the title "Representative"!

I knew it. When ATS Mix interviewed him a little over a year ago I made it a point to ask what, if anything, he could offer that would be any different than any other politician. It is obvious to me that this guy is voting ideology, not the bill itself, that would require reading right Mr. Kucinich?

I used to think you were a man of principle, but I can now see that the only man left in Congress at all who gives a damn about the Constitution is Ron Paul.

You, Mr. Kucinich, are an abject failure and a disappointment. I hope you're proud of "your place in history" as I'm sure that's what sold you on this. We have no more room for huge egos sir. Figure it out or be voted out. The choice is yours sir, the consequences are ours.

I think that is a bit harsh. Why turn against him over one issue when you have supported him on so many others? Sometimes within Political Parties the members have to be loyal to get things done and to defeat the opposition. That is Politics.

I think the way he see's it is that it is better than nothing, and paves the way for greater Health Care reform in the future.

I am not surprised by his sudden change of heart. Dennis likes to be in the news. Bottom line. He originally held out to get attention because he thought the bill was not liberal enough and now he changes his mind to get attention and headlines. Small man, big mouth. Likes attention.

It must have been some conversation aboard AF One to change his mind. Yeah, that was a nice photo op of him getting off the plane with Obama.

Sadly, I live in his district. Proudly, he has never earned my vote. I am still puzzled as to his continued reelection.
Oh... he is owned by the Unions. Shame on me for forgetting that little notion Dennis Kuciniwho.

Well, there goes my respect for Kucinich - any respect I had for him. He's been opposed to this health care bill for so long and now look at the reason he gives for flip-flopping:

At a Capitol Hill news conference, Kucinich said his decision was a combination of pragmatism and concern about the impact that defeat of the health care bill would have on Obama's presidency.

"You do have to be very careful that the potential of President Obama's presidency not be destroyed by this debate," said Kucinich. "Even though I have many differences with him on policy, there's something much bigger at stake here for America."

news.yahoo.com...

Say WHAT? So now he's not concerned about the cost to America, the numerous earmarks that Democrats have added which will cost the nation upward of a trillion dollars, he's concerned that failure to pass the bill WILL HURT OBAMA'S PRESIDENCY??????? Are you freaking KIDDING ME?

You know, I see this black and white way of thinking so much on here, it's really amazing! What if the husband and wife disagree on something? Do they get a divorce? I often wonder about this mindset... and shake my head. :shk:

Dennis and Obama had 4 recent discussions about this and he decided to support it, without any "payoff" or benefit. I respect Kucinich. I'm not sure why he changed his mind, but it's not going to "turn me against him".
That's ridiculous!

I basically agreed with Kucinich. The health care bill could be so much better than it is.

But if it's defeated, there will probably be no change at all in the nation's health care system for at least twenty years. The Republicans are not saying "let's start over" in good faith. What they want is the status quo -- the insurance and drug companies calling all the shots. They are content to do nothing until the next Democrat is elected.

I am so glad Kucinich has decided to vote "yes." Voting with the Republicans would have been much worse in its consequences than voting for a bill that is far from perfect.

It really looks like we will get some form of health care reform, though it won't be ideal. I congratulate Rep. Kucinich. Whether you agree with him or not, he has his principles.

"Hey Bawwy! Bawwy! If I give you my vote can we go for a wide on Aiah Fawce One? And can I do the safety talk to the passengers? Pweeze??"

"We can? I can? Oboy oboy oboy oboy!"

Seriously, Kucinich was the cheapest bribe for Obama so far. Much cheaper than Nebraska or Louisiana. Kucinich fell for the one thing that he will never collect on - a promise from Obama.

Re Sestias

I believe that the American public - and Republicans in general - are sincere about health care reform. Just not that abomination that is being shoved down our throats by the Dems.

I wonder what Obama said to him on Air Force 1 that made him flip like that. Kinda scares me.

Well, two socialists with an opportunity to wreck a nation can always find points of agreement.

I am convinced that that is what happened. Otherwise, why did Kucinich mention socialism in his little speech?

He was the only Democrat I liked. Now there are exactly 0 good guys left, for the Dems. Not that there are more than a couple of respectable Republicans.

Screw you Kucinich. You will go down in history as just another traitor; complicit in the destruction of liberty.

Our gov't has bankrupted, and destroyed our republic. We are screwed.

Doesn't that depend on what they are disagreeing about? If the husband says "Yes I can go out and have 2 more wives" and the wife says "Oh no you can't" then yes, a divorce may be the only way to resolve the conflict.

Just like with this issue - maybe this is an issue that Kozmo felt very strongly about and felt Kucinich also believed should be voted against.

It's not the number of times someone disagrees with you, it's what you disagree on that can kill someone's support for a candidate.

Of course I don't expect that you would. You didn't seem to mind that Obama renewed the Patriot Act or that he was all for collecting DNA samples from people upon arrest even though you trumpet advocacy for personal freedoms.

Yep - Looks like good old scary-tactics to been used against him... For me it came awfull feeling, when I just read Infowars - like Ive just seen a traitor.

No mater what happened in Air Force One, he has not follow his duty to people, and flip-flop like this needs to judge with harsh condemnation.

I am sure this would not work against Mr Paul - our last hope.

Hmmm... I wonder what is at stake here? Dennis, please elaborate. Is it because Obama is a socialist? Or because he is black? Or because he is a black socialist?

This issue is not about one man, even though he sees it that way. It concerns our nation.

I wonder what Obama told him on that plane ride that he obviously believed.

And why did it seem to have to take place on Air Force One, which I would assume, is fairly secure from eavesdropping?

Why the comments in there about weight control, exercise, ect? Was it alluding to the perceived national security threat of increasing obesity?

Did he tell them that once we all got collectively fat enough, the harvest would begin?

Maybe they replaced Dennis with a look alike and the real Kucinich is being held captive somewhere.

I voted for Kucinich and will hold my faith, it looks like he is going in interesting directions. He did not turn into Dick Cheney, the guy still has morals, and so one mistake by Obama and Pelosi, and Kucinich will be all over them.

Well we are all left wondering just what happened on that plane.

So much for the value of transparency, Mr. President.
Half the world is wondering what you threatened him with.
The other half is wondering what you promised him.
I'm wondering what you did with the real one.

I know BH is more than capable of defending herself, but seeing as I actually posted in opposition to her on the DNA thread...where she strongly opposed the proposed DNA collection policy...I thought I would pipe-up here.

You claiming that her support for Obama is unconditional is factually incorrect and she has demonstrated that many times now.

This is nothing more than the oh-so-overused tired tactic of dismissing someones views as fanatical and unconditional "worship" and BH more than most is undeserving of such labels.

Wull, He isn't selling out his constituents.

It is painfully obvious that he personally doesn't like voting FOR the HC bill as he's stated.

So, being a representative of his constituents he's voting for the bill; for his constituents that want the bill passed. (?)

Are you his constituent? You wanted it passed RIGHT?

Case closed.

Nothing to debate here.
