Holder: Bin Laden Will Never Face Trial

www.military.com

March 17, 2010
Associated Press

WASHINGTON -- Attorney General Eric Holder told Congress on Tuesday that Osama bin Laden will never face trial in the United States because he will not be captured alive.

In testy exchanges with House Republicans, the attorney general compared terrorists to mass murderer Charles Manson and predicted that events would ensure "we will be reading Miranda rights to the corpse of Osama bin Laden" not to the al-Qaida leader as a captive.

Evidently Mister Holder is not just the Attorney General of the United States but a clairvoyant and psychic too!

How in fact does he know Osama Bin Laden will not be captured alive? Could it be because top government officials have known he has been dead for years and years?

They say the best lies have a shred of truth in them and that might in fact be the shred of truth that makes Holder’s statement a compelling lie.

Holder did put forward some credible and compelling reasons as to why Terrorists should be tried in the United States Civilian Court System in his reportedly testy exchanges with Congress where he made the above statement about Bin Laden.

Likening terrorists to being no different than mass murders like Manson he rejects out court system and jails molly coddle such people are that alleged terrorists pose any greater risk.

So it appears that the U.S. Government would like to give us some ‘Show Trials’ to regain some of their decreasing 9-11 stock but want us to know never to expect ‘the’ trial of all trials of Osama Bin Laden ever.

More proof our government has zero credibility and is not to be trusted.

I think the US government has decided that the problems of bringing OBL to trial would be so great that they have put a execute on sight order out.

They may have even made it a execute, dispose of the body and classify top secret that he was found and killed.

This would be so his followers can not make a martyr of him.

Dont forget the dacts by Benazir Bhutto:

- Who was soon after this statement murdered in Pakistan elections, when she was running as president.

- Osama Bin Laden is dead, and been long time already.

That is one of the most compelling pieces of evidence out there that Bin Laden is dead and that's for sure.

Funny to think that the U.S. Government would be willing to murder foreign dignataries to keep his death a secret.

Thanks for posting that.

It is funny that Holder compared terrorists to Manson on one hand and forget to mention that Manson got a trial.

Anyway, I am up in the air on terrorist trials because if it was my choice, we would not be in other countries being the police. You cannot fight wars with terrorists, you can only kill terrorists. We should have found out exactly who was behind the actions, and then carpet bombed there locations for a month.

Keep doing that anytime a terrorist attacks the US. I do not care if the people came from an Ally. Unless the Ally instantly held up all the terrorists for trial and had them executed immediately afterward, the Allies country, where the terrorists came from would get hit. I bring this up because of Saudi Arabia.

As for Osama Bin Laden, he will be one of the oldest people to ever live on the planet. The latest propaganda films of him were laughable. I could have made a better one on MY computer. Jeez.

I highly disagree with that remedy as it would only cause more terrorism.

If an individual committed a real crime then only that individual should be punished for it.

Employing a might makes right mentallity is uber dangerous.

It sets a precedent for all Americans to become targets for the actions of our corrupt government as soon as someone becomes mightier than us.

The truth is 9-11 has never been properly investigated to begin with and that the hundreds of thousands of people killed as a result of it have not one thing to do with the events of that day.

Well, give me a solution than. You cannot give me crap about my solution without one of your own.

Yes, I was using the Swordfish scenario. I just do not see solutions to a terrorist attack if it would happen after the US got out of everyone's damn business.

I am a non interventionalist, but what to do if such an attack happened.

Yes, I know I agree with the absolute investigation of the incident.

Too many variables, maybe I just threw an attitude out there instead of thinking through it.

Anyway, Peace.

he will not be captured alive.

Why?

A. Because he is most likely dead
B. Because we didn't go and get him when we were 500 yards away from him
C. Because he had nothing at all to do with 9/11 and there is no way our government wants to put him on trial since it will blow their 9/11 story all to hell.

I, for one, am unsurprised. I never thought we would ever put him on trial, even if a guy living in caves and needing dialysis is still around to even face a trial.

Funny to think that the U.S. Government would be willing to murder foreign dignataries to keep his death a secret.

Bad choice of words, as it's not funny. It does go to show what lengths they will go to to keep the truth hidden from us.

Sure he won't. If he was ever captured let's say by another nation and presented to the media one of two things would happen:

1 He'd be assassinated.
Or
2 He would blow the 911 story out of the water.

The U.S. will never get their hands on him because other nations know what would happen to him as most nations & country's know 911 was a fiasco and the story crated by the 911 Panel is a lie.

UBL will either die in a host country then become a martyr or the U.S. will simply kill him and bury his body in order to prevent him from becoming so. At which time the U.S. can go on claiming the "war on terror" cry without any regard.

That is because he is dead and has been for quite some time.

You can not hide from the technology that the US Government has. You can not hide from the world's best trained Intelligence Operatives. Especially in a country or countries that he would stick out like a turd in a punch bowl. If a trained veteran international spy and covert operative that was betrayed cannot hide from these agencies, trained in the art of espionage, counter intelligence, and able to completely change their appearance, then a goofy, lanky, untrained former CIA employee most certainly cannot. Especially for 9 years! in the mountains of Afghanistan and Pakistan.
This stupid statement from a stupid Eric Holder is proof that they are trying to wind this thing down and try and make people forget what has happened and why we are in Iraq, Afghanistan and why we have paid Blackwater and KBR and a few other low names to take up camp in Pakistan.
The irony in all of this is that these are the hardest countries in the world for normal people to travel too. Very hard to get the real scoop on what is going on on the ground. And very dangerous for Americans, British and Journalists to go to and travel around unsupervised in the areas where these merc companies are operating.

The American People have been duped into believing that a group of people living in a land that you cannot possibly imagine is like unless you have physically been there and put your boots on that dreadful ground that war itself has eroded over countless years trained these terrorists to learn to fly commericial airliners, elude intelligence agencies world wide, travel thousands of miles across the world without being caught, hyjack the planes on the same day, reprogram the gps on the planes and fly them into the WTC without being shot down by the worlds best pilots in the worlds best Air Force being run by the worlds best and most technologically advanced military. The odds alone are in the billions!
Someone knew they were here and someone let this happen and perhaps even pushed it along.

Iraq, a whole differnet story and quite the distraction away from the real enemy whom we have no picture of yet.

Do any of you on here know just how well a U.S. Spercial Forces Soldier is trained and what they are capable of doing all by their self? An Elite Navy Seal in the Elite Teams with in the Seal Community, do you know how well trained they are and what they are capable of doing? A United States Force Recon Marine in the elite teams within the Force Community (8654s), one of the best kept secrets in the Marine Corps, do you know what they are capable of doing? The Marine Special OPs teams, these guys are the best of the best from force. Their capabilities just as an individual are hard to fathom, as a team or complete unit these operators skills are the best on earth.

On top of all of those guys, Ad in the Best Sniper teams on earth from the Force Recon Units, just having the Force Recon Sniper teams on the ground in op mode, you cnnot hide from these guys. They will get you one way or the other out to about a mile and half and just maybe a little more. Now ad in SAS and combine the two, there would be no escape from these men no matter who you were.

Green Berets, Army Delta, Air Force Special OPs, Air support, constant bombardment and unimaginable terrain for the most fit to traverse.

Impossible odds of survival being chased and hunted by the best trained solders and swabbies on earth.

Put this into perspective for me and tell me he is still alive. Then prove it.

I used to think that Holder had a problem with the linkage from his brain to his mouth. Now I realize that the problem is that he has no brain. This guy is screwing up by the numbers.

Osama bin Laden declared war on the U.S. If he is captured out of uniform (which is probable, because Al Qaeda doesn't wear uniforms) he would not be subject to the Geneva conventions for prisoners of war.

It violates no law or convention of warfare to shoot him on sight. That's what is usually done in a war.

There is no way any kind of trial would be allowed to end in his being freed, or even given less than death. That just couldn't happen. It saves everybody a lot of time and trouble to just have him die on the battlefield.

I'm not sure, though, if Holder should have said this in public.

What surprises me is that conservatives and Republicans on this thread are criticizing Holder's position. I would think the administration would be doing essentially what they would want it to do, and what the Bush administration probably would have done.

Just goes to show that absolutely NOTHING the Obama administration does or can do will EVER be supported by them, ever.

Do they think we should put Bin Laden on trial?

Not civilian trial, but I would support a live on television military tribunal.

Hell yeah. Or should we just kill him if we capture him?

Of course if there is only a chance for a takedown, of course that goes too.

As for Holder being backed for this by conservatives, what do you mean by conservatives? Fiscal, political, social, be a little more specific on what you are referring to.

There is more than the conservative and liberal paradigm out there. Quit placing us in the paradigm box.

Very observant PT, Everyone I know believes Osama has been dead since late 2001. I don't know how long the government can keep this dog and pony show going. It is getting kinda amusing though

Hey don't take it so hard. I believe the current administration is doing a wonderful job. I mean take that latest Bin Laden tape where they had him advocating global warming. That was quite a brilliant piece of work there.

I personally believe Bin Laden is with Al Gore right now working on another piece to terrorize us into their ideology. They should taze Gore as they pepper spray Bin Laden and take them both into custody to stand trial.

This gent is completely unqualified to be AG. Take a minute and think about what he says. He's convinced that OBL will not be tried because he will not be caught alive. Is he therefore saying that he has issued orders to have him shot on sight? I'm thinking that is against the Geneva convention. What would he do if OBL walked into the embassy in Kabul and turned himself in, have him shot?

Two weeks ago he says that it does not matter if the terrorists are tried in civilian court because they will be found guilty. How about due process? How can the AG of the US state that the outcome of a civilian trial is predetermined? That violates the whole concept of our judicial system. If he's certain that they will be found guilty, why then bother with the expense of the civilian trial?

This guy is a joke who is WAY over his head

That stuff never even entered my mind dolphinfan. Good post. I am thinking that possibly this is a way to groom the public to accept the fact that we will never see the invisible man. Time will pass and all hope of ever bringing this "evil doer" to justice will vanish. We will be left with the realization that we have all been duped as we march ever onward in our war on terror.

Well, here is another reason to love ATS...the time machine!

OBL is officially dead now.

It is interesting to go back and read the comments. Looks like the OP was right.

I have a feeling that this will be a pastime one day.

Going through old threads and reading older ideas.

Can't wait to read some of the stories regarding the OS of 911 in the future.
