I think even the "skeptics" quality has lowered over time here at ATS.
Why didn't someone get an RC plane to go check the UFO, some other "skeptic" asked..
Another one says its planes landing lights and people discovered this just today. Have they build this airport yesterday? How long has it been there
having flights going over lake Erie while trying to land?
There is software, that you can check this yourself.
There is ATC live data software, you can even check flights in real time and use it through a flight simulator. There is even flight simulators that
connect to a lot of other applications ready to accept or delivering live data from and to anything, like X-plane, can let you have much freedom to do
anything you want with the data you put in and are customizable to a great extend.
I don't have the time to do this myself currently. Plus it's not even in my country and if it was I doubt I would have the equipment and money.
All of the above are just a few clicks away, BUT IT SEEMS SOME SKEPTICS don't even have time for that, yet they complain because people didn't have
1000$ available to throw out for some lights appearing in the sky over a big lake.
We have planes and helicopters they can fly 600-1000 feet from us and we would never take notice, even in a relevantly calm night for instance.
We should be glad that UFOs at least, for some reason, use lights, BIG HUGE lights and we are able at least some times to identify them. That's all
we can do with UFOs btw. We can't seem we are able to do more. To tell you the truth If I would be some random alien trying to have some fun going
out for a fun experiment checking the perception level of some random civilization I would never choose Earth.
People would some times feel so unintelligent and boring. That should go for both skeptics and believers. Not all fro the majority of course, but for
many of them.

Wallkill River Valley of New York State
I think UFOlogy is lucky to have such researchers as the one that made the relevant research in the above link.
Someone that has to study the above incident the way it has been very well documented, and is versed in recognizing patterns, do analytical thinking
etc etc, a person able to do a forensic type of analysis for a situation, like what for instance FBI can do for crime scenes would get out much detail
of this event. Maybe even details we are not meant to see straightforward out of simply observing something, until we analyze it and correlate it with
other stuff. This brings me to ask my fellow Americans since they get so many sightings in their country, on why FBI doesn't seem to have a special
unusual phenomena division?
Notice how is is always some random citizen or a policeman or some military dude somewhere reporting things?
(I guess a federal agent can be sued if disseminating false public information, so maybe hoaxers have it easier to employ a random policeman that
would enjoy somehow to be found a bit unstable and retire for reasons of his own, or some wacky civilian dude that wants to be in the limelight, or
the same as the above with some random military dude or ranked officer)
As the situation stands today, only as the conspiracy rumor has it of course, that always an obscure alphabet agency or the army in general would be
getting all the fun and always the rest of the people will just be stuck in there filling in the gaps of their curiosity with wacky conspiracy
theories..
Like the above situation isn't silly enough, on top of that there will be tons of disinformation, God knows from whom and why really.
Will this ever stop?
Are we able to analyze events and recognize patterns? Even for the last lake Eerie sighting?
What if we have a case of a UFO mimicking air traffic? (that wants to be spotted doing this) Do we have a code of communication? Colors, azimuth,
elevation, angles, time? Can we recognize a pattern? Have we even tried?
I believe lake Erie always had some unusual sightings, distant, mysterious and obscure in nature.
I think that people that are only sensory overload junkies won't be much fascinated by a light in the distance over not so easy to cross terrain. (A
deep lake, this time) maybe they like getting their fix by watching crap like the "Fourth Kind" which btw I am going to link a relevant thread and
comment about it which I totally agree with:

PERSONAL REACTION:
I think I went into shock about a quarter through the movie. And I stayed simply mortified watching through until the end. I am a very sensitive
Empath and the horror portrayed on the video of the actual footage, really really disturbed me. To the point that I can say that it was the most
disturbing footage I have ever seen to date. My bodys reaction to seeing this film was that of anxiety, and an all over numbness and tensing of all of
my body's muscles to the point that I am now trying to calm myself enough to write this. And I wanted to write this while it was fresh in my mind to
share with all of you, rather than tomorrow after it had faded.
Maybe the devil, as they say is in the details. If we would like to turn ourselves to a species that prefer meaningless sensory overload over
meticulous study and exhausting exploration that would lead to fascinating discoveries will we any get far?

We could study similar sightings to discover if UFOs want to talk in code.
Why don't they just land and deliver their damn message!?
Maybe things don't work this way! Who knows!
What about all those sightings that we got full contact aliens that have
spilled the beans so many times and all these new age prophets who
contact them etc etc.?
Yeah, what about that sensory overload crap? How far did that get us except making some con artists richer?
