Haha, is that zombie survival vehicle a HONDA?

At least it's not a Toyota. Wait... maybe that extra "push" would be good for running over zombies.

I would seriously recommend a compass. I'm not sure if you listed a map of the US or not, but that is also a must have.

My dad is actually a trained volunteer for some EMS program. I don't know why he did it, well probably in case there is a major emergency. And I'm not really playing the 2012 card, it was more of a fire-starter, which got me thinking into possible situations like that.

But I'm guessing my parents do already have some sort of plan devised, but it's probably different than my own, but who knows. I'm guaranteeing they aren't planning on telling my siblings and I for the fear that we would be horrified and panic, which they most definitely will. But I'm really no longer expecting any major devastating events to happen on December 21, 2012, it was just something that inspired me to prepare for something like it.

And thanks to anybody else who has contributed and pointed out major things I was missing.

People who are experts at parkour will probably have an advantage at survival, clearly. They can run fast, which already gives them an advantage. They can jump high, reach places most people can't, etc. I'm in really good shape as it is right now, I currently run about 6 miles a day after I get home from school and lift weights for about an hour. I'd maybe give parkouring a shot, but I think my running has already given me a slight advantage, but not nearly as great as parkouring.

Sorry if you are insinuating that I have no life, when I really do, considering I do most of the collecting on rainy days or after school. And I've been with my girlfriend for almost a year and a half, getting laid is a work in progress

No, not at all, simply that I remember being 16 and scavenging survival gear was not high on my adgenda I can assure you! If its just a hobby, good for you, but just live your life to the max NOW. trust me on this!

P.S good work with the 'work in progress'

Well, My plan is this.

I have lived a good life, heck of a lot longer than I should have.

I have seen a many splendored thing, traveled to exotic locales and met many famous and infamous people.

I plan on taking my lawn chair,a 12 pack of cold beer and a couple packs of smokes and plant my butt in the front yard with my old friend.

Because this is going to be something neither one of us has seen before and we ain't missing it by running away.

You youngsters can run and hide.Us adults will stay and watch.

Your plan is lacking some important things. First and foremost, where does your plan include learning how to use those items properly, and practicing your ability to survive for several days with nothing but your survival gear?

Do you have routes planned to get to your bug out destinations? You need to get maps and actually draw out at least three different ways to get to your bug out destinations. Don't assume you'll be at home when disaster strikes. You need ways to get to your destinations from any place where you spend a lot of time. Expect that highways and primary roads will be blocked completely. Not only will they be blocked, but they will be incredibly dangerous.

Cabelas is a bad move. Honestly, I am always astounded that people can include "Go to big-box retailer" as the main goal of their "survival plan." Have you ever seen what happens to stores during a major disaster?

Take a look.

guys i think the meaning end of the world has been under estimated if the **** does hit the fan on 2012 and all the things people are prodicting does actually happen then u can forget about a car or even 2 cars filled with survival equipment because chances are ur cars will be destroyed the only thing u need to worry about is the so called shift in polar positions, hundred mile a hour winds, volcanic erruptions, earthquakes that are of the ricta, and visitors from out of space if after all that u still remember ur pencil then i take my hat off to u because ur doing better then me who at this stage will prob be under my bed wetting my pants haha

I have Cabelas in my plan too. In Ct, we got a new one about 2 years ago in Hartford. Me and my freind made a plan to go to Wal*Mart then to Cabelas in his dad's snow truck and his moms SUV. We argued about going to Alaska, he wanted to but I said it's too far away and we should just go someplace in Southern Canada.

Come to think of it, books would probably be smarter to have than iPods with you. Walkie-Talkies too over cell phones 'cause they seem more badass I think.

I am 19 and also collecting. I have a gas mask, compass, different army satchels, demolition pack, canned food, buncha knives, bows and arrows, tents, sleeping bags, stove in a can, water filter, rope.
Im hesitant on guns for now because they can draw attention when you fire(if you are runnin from gvmt in my case and dont want that attention)
I would reccomending getting a water filter if possible because those are going to be crucial to survive.
In the event of the destruction of the earth or when martial law comes in think twice about electronics. If you are gonna be runnin from government dont take a cell phone because they can triangulate and find you(and others that might be with you)As for the ipod its just taking up space. Yeah you can take a charger but they arent gonna do anygood unless you go buy a generator to haul with you. Books are key. Technology is unnatural. The wild is about being naturalll.
When shiz happens, im headed to the beautiful country of prescott arizona.
Come find me.
Good Luck

didn't see you had vehicles, if you will plan on not going by foot disregard my posts:

1. canned food is rediculously heavy, at least dehydrate it or keep it in bags or something

2. you have alot of items, which could be for better or worse, but in the most part minimalism is something that comes with age and wisdom in the survival department

not sure what 'type' of survival situation you are preparing for, but if you're going to be moving 10-20 miles a day or more, or even less for some, i would try and get the maximum bag weight down to at least 30- 45 pounds if you are trying to carry enough supplies to set up permanent residents somewhere far away, but if you are packing to head towards a destination that has supplies there, i'd keep it below 10 pounds

just my two senses

See what I mean about places like Cabelas, Wal-Mart, etc.?

They're in everyone's plan. No matter how quick you think you can get there, by the time you actually arrive you'll find nothing but rioting, looters, and violence between panicked people trying to steal the last 5 pennies in the cash register of an empty building.

And no, you won't be the only one who shows up with guns and a large group. Count on it.
