Hello. Would you by any chance tell me who exactly

Noted Israeli military historian Martin Karfeld

is???
All searches in English bring me the same article as you quoted. This is the most noted thing he ever said??
In Hebrew search i found Martin van Creveld ,Israeli military historian. But if even the name was wrong, what about validity if message itself?
Also -what is 7th Hebrew radio??? There is no such beast. There is Arutz 7 (channel 7) private radio station oriented for right wing Israeli public, mainly settlers.
www.israelnationalnews.com...
I could not find it among recorded shows, not even mention of him being interviewed.
But then i found this:
www.richardsilverstein.com... paign=Feed%3A+richardsilverstein%2FZOfh+%28+Tikun+Olam-%D7%AA%D7%A7%D7%95%D7%9F+%D7%A2%D7%95%D7%9C%D7%9D%3A+Make+the+World+a+Better+Place%29
Hope it helps. Please note that the extremely skewed interview from totally different source is from 2002. Not 2010 as your source claims.
I seriously think that it is Israeli attempt to even more undermine what is left of credability of majority of Anti-Israeli sources.

Israel has every nation on earth targeted with it's nuclear arsenal including America.

Why we are whining about Iran who is a signatory to the International Atomic Energy accords and allows inspections instead of a much more maniacal menace like Israel who refuses to sign the accords and the inspections is beyond me.

Israel's apartheid policies and theiving and manipulative ways will lead to it eventually being really attacked and overrun and they will try to take the whole world down with them.

G-d's chosen people are more like G-d's problem child in my book!

And you know it because....????? Distance between Israel and US - 8000 plus Km. Range of Israeli top missile (Shavit ,based on Jericho-II) - 4500 Km.
But truth ,again, does not matter. Assuming due to personal beliefs is the best thing to do.

G-d's chosen people are more like G-d's problem child in my book!

I think there some poorly written chapters in that book. Probably because they are based on 1930s newspapers.

This is what happens when people like ("Mrs. Oil of Ipicac") Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are running foreign relations. They have shown much animostity to Israel and are perpetuating these issues by design.
I am not saying I support or don't support any particular country, just pointing out what I see happening.

It's because they have posted his name wrong. The actual name is Martin Levi van Creveld. This story was originally published on 11th March at Voltairenet - www.voltairenet.org...

The seventh Israeli radio broadcasted an interview with Professor Martin Van-Crevel, a noted world specialist in low-intensity wars. Former Professor of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Van-Crevel discussed publicly what he has been advocating for years in closed military academic circles in Israel and the United States.

In his view, the continued struggle of the Palestinians will inexhorably lead to the collapse of the State of Israel. Which is why Tel-Aviv has no choice but to "transfer" the Israeli Arabs and the stateless Palestinians beyond safe borders (that is, not only outside the 1948 borders but also from the 1976 occupied territories and, ideally, from the West Bank and the Gaza Strip). In the event the Europeans opposed such a transfer, in order to survive Tel Aviv will be forced to destroy the European capitals with nuclear weapons, it being understood that the Europeans will be unable to retaliate without annihilating their Palestinian friends.

“The Palestinians should all be deported. The people who strive for this (the Israeli government) are waiting only for the right man and the right time. Two years ago, only 7 or 8 per cent of Israelis were of the opinion that this would be the best solution, two months ago it was 33 per cent, and now, according to a Gallup poll, the figure is 44 percent.”

The author of The Transformation of War forcefully stated that, as of now, there are already nuclear warheads aimed against Rome and other European capitals that render the threat credible and the "transfer" of the Palestinians possible.

Hope that helps.

Isreal will have contingency plans for all possible planet scenarios, this will apply also to every other military in the world too. Seems like it's always Israel that is the focus of attention, a modern day witch hunt if you will. Israel is no better and no worse than many other nations out there

Hope that helps.

Nope, it does not help.
Because in 2003 Guardian published this. Not Channel 7.
www.guardian.co.uk...
And in the REAL interview if you read it carefully what the man says is that he fears that Israeli public would go more and more radical and it can go down the hill this way.
Sorry for long quoting:

'If it went on much longer,' he said, 'the Israeli government [would] lose control of the people. In campaigns like this, the anti-terror forces lose, because they don't win, and the rebels win by not losing. I regard a total Israeli defeat as unavoidable. That will mean the collapse of the Israeli state and society. We'll destroy ourselves.'

In this situation, he went on, more and more Israelis were coming to regard the ‘transfer’ of the Palestinians as the only salvation; resort to it was growing ‘more probable’ with each passing day. Sharon ‘wants to escalate the conflict and knows that nothing else will succeed’. But would the world permit such ethnic cleansing? ‘That depends on who does it and how quickly it happens. We possess several hundred atomic warheads and rockets and can launch them at targets in all directions, perhaps even at Rome. Most European capitals are targets for our air force. Let me quote General Moshe Dayan: “Israel must be like a mad dog, too dangerous to bother.” I consider it all hopeless at this point. We shall have to try to prevent things from coming to that, if at all possible.

See the last line?
Hope IT helps.

Well it sure would seem that way to someone who's only focus of attention is making one excuse after another for Israel!

Israel in fact purposefully puts itself in the spotlight constantly and utilizes the squeeky wheel gets the grease foreign policy approach.

No use complaining when Israel goes out of its way to create headlines every day that it gets the attention it wants and the chance to attempt to dominate through emotional domination as a result when it gets it.

Since after all that is what they are purposefully doing.

Rank amatuers and little children really. But some nations just like some people have to learn the hard way!

Just saw your link of richardsilverstein, so it's a 2003 report no radio broadcast? From the 2003 article it links to Gaurdian website which says this

Iran can never be threatened in its very existence. Israel can. Indeed, such a threat could even grow out of the current intifada. That, at least, is the pessimistic opinion of Martin van Creveld, professor of military history at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. 'If it went on much longer,' he said, 'the Israeli government [would] lose control of the people. In campaigns like this, the anti-terror forces lose, because they don't win, and the rebels win by not losing. I regard a total Israeli defeat as unavoidable. We possess several hundred atomic warheads and rockets and can launch them at targets in all directions, perhaps even at Rome. Most European capitals are targets for our air force. Let me quote General Moshe Dayan: "Israel must be like a mad dog, too dangerous to bother." I consider it all hopeless at this point. We shall have to try to prevent things from coming to that, if at all possible. Our armed forces, however, are not the thirtieth strongest in the world, but rather the second or third. We have the capability to take the world down with us. And I can assure you that that will happen before Israel goes under."

Source:www.guardian.co.uk...

Now the thing is whether this Van chap repeated this claim on Radio or not.

Edit to add: I just noted your above reply and thought I'd emphasize the whole para. Hope that helps.

What is defined as "pointing"?

Does that mean the GPS is programmed into the targetting system as a preset, or the missile is actually physically pointing and facing there (like the Hezbollah/Hamas rockets)?

Everyone with nukes will be aware of at least most other nuclear states, and be aware that a deterrent requires a fast response in the event of nuclear war. It could be as silly as suggesting that everyone who carries around a pistol are "pointing" it because they can react quickly in the event of having to fire the weapon.

Kind of selfish to say that.

The British navy doesn't even know whether to respond in a MAD situation where London has gone, they have to open a box to check if Gordon Brown (just deceased) has decided to retaliate with nukes. If you're dead, why contribute to the extinction of the human race, although I doubt any country in reality would not retaliate.

"Pointing" = targeted toward.

I can see the Similarity between Hamas Bottle Rockets and Israeli Nukes.

Thanks for the Comparison.

In truth this is the English’s fault John as it was sheer folly and madness to issue the Balfour Declaration or even play a hand in that nefarious Zionist Enterprise.

Now WE ARE ALL less secure as a result. Way to go England. Creating nuclear armed nations by displacing an entire nationwide population of people is just not a good idea! I don’t care what old book they got it out of!

The truth is its one more nuclear weapon aimed that never needed to exist in the first place.

Obviously the Jews are doing just fine in Diaspora since the vast majority of them prefer and choose to continue to live in it.

Giving a religious sect land to become a nuclear armed belligerent is just not wise.

Say what you will, but just saying.

Basically what we have here is a useless piece of propaganda, the man is not an official representitive of Israel - neither are his comments (twisted or not) worth much.

Move along, nothing to see here. Honestly.
