This should put Al Gore and his idiot global warming sheep back on the unemployment line.

Using titanium nanotubes as a catalist, and exposing them to sunlight and carbon dioxide (the stuff that comes out of your tail pipe) creates more fuel!

The article is

"If you tried to build a commercial system using what we have accomplished to date, you'd go broke," admits Grimes. But he is confident that commercially viable results are possible.

"We are now working on uniformly sensitising the entire nanotube array surface with copper nanoparticles, which should dramatically increase conversion rates," says Grimes, by at least two orders of magnitude for a given area of tubes.

This work suggests a "potentially very exciting" application for titanium-dioxide nanotubes, says Milo Shaffer, a nanotube researcher at Imperial College, London. "The high surface area, small critical dimensions, and open structure [of these nanotubes] apparently provide a relatively high activity," he says.

Also, what does this have to do with the existence of global warming? It's not as if something on the laboratory scale is going to magically phase out fossil fuel emissions any time soon.

Yes and the funding for such research will come from where???

And more scarily the petrol companies and the arab countries will just quietly do bust???? I don't think so. What is so bad about Al GoreI prefer his projects (the Planet) mto those of his wife..

And what does the burning of fossil fuels have to do with global warming - apart from 4.1ppm of the 100ppm increase?

Donno (well actually I do). If you want to find out, ask the OP what a future fuel source that takes CO2 from the sky, and uses to as a a replacement to fossil fuels has to do with global warming. Also nice attempt at derail.
