Twin comets approach on the Sun:

The first one appears to cause a CME and the second one is still approaching.

First Comet:

Second Comet and first CME:

These look like they are on the same path as all the other ones that have happened recently. Are they related?

Hm, where is the first one at ? I see the Cme , but no comet/object.
All I see is the one coming from down/left corner...

Very interesting, wonder if it well effect us if it hits the sun? Shouldn't have to wait to long for impact, then what a day or 4? Nice find.

Sorry the picture I posted is after the first Comet appears to hit. I'll put it up when I have time but you can see it on the LASCO C3 if you go to the SOHO site.

The first one is in the link you posted just real small and you first see it about 2010 -03-11 at about 9:42 then you can follow it in.

Going to be watching for the rest of the day to see what the second impact looks like, great find

Hi
Nice find! I went to SOHO and played back the last 50 images. I could see the CME as it happened, but saw no evidence of a comet impacting the sun. Do you have a pic of that comet?

Regards

2010-03-11 16:42 is the last time you see the smaller one before impact then, if you step the images in reverse and follow the same trajectory as the larger one you will see two images moving in unison , along the same path real small gotta have a keen eye, hope that helps

Great, thanks...I see it. Wow! That is one doozy of a CME from that little comet. It is tiny compared to the second one!

Second one's going to be interesting.

Are you sure that flare was cause by the comet impact?
I would think the comet would completely melt long before it impacts the surface of the sun, and I doubt it would cause a flare that large.

But I could be wrong.
