Tomorrow night, me and several friends are heading to a local "haunted" spot, Cuba Road. It's located in Barrington, Illinois, a short 20 minute drive from where we live. Our friends have been there before, who are a year older than us. One of them came back and had a horrible rash on his arm after he touched a gate in the cemetery, which is supposed to be the most haunted part of the whole area.

People ranging from teenager, like myself, to police officers have reported seeing ghosts like figures, floating orbs, and -bear with me here-, the phantom car. It is said that when the people drive down the road and pass the cemetery, a black van pulls out of the dirt road and speeds after you, and as it is about to reach you, it vanished.

So, ATS, I've prepared myself quite well. I've got my handy-dandy Flip HD Videocamera, a high powered flashlight with full batteries, and an iPhone to take some pictures with. There's going to be about 6-7 of us there, so if anybody seems to snap a picture of something paranormal, I'll be sure to post it up asap.

This place seems like the closest I'll ever get to encountering something paranormal on its own turf. But, of course, the things I've heard are only stories. Although there is a bunch of people testifying on websites that they've been there, went through the cemetery, and saw orbs or ghosts. So I'm expecting nothing, but hoping for everything. I'm completely ready to soil myself if it means I get a first-hand look at something truly paranormal.

There is also one more story about Cuba Rd. They say that if it is silent and you turn off your car, turn off the lights, and stay still, a house will appear in the woods. It only appears in the pitch black, and as soon as any light returns, it vanishes. It is also said that if you, and whomever you are with get into the house and wait till sunrise, you will disappear forever along with the house!

Wish me luck. I'll update this thread tomorrow night or early saturday....if I return alive!

My advice is bring a hoodie to wear as well, even if it isn't cold. For one it may get cold if something truly is there and as a bonus if your running away scared, pulling it over your head and only being able to see whats in front of you and not the crap in the corner of your eye is HUGE. Also a great place to hide if you fully close the draw-straps.

We have everything planned out. Well, that is until one person claims to see something, then another person freaks out and starts hyperventilating, and everybody bolts back to the car.

I haven't ever been a big believer in paranormal activity, so I'm excited for tomorrow to see if I can challenge my beliefs.

We've been to another local place before, called the St. Mary Montesary, or something like that. It was scary the first time, just because of the random crosses, multiple bridges with bright white lights, and just utter darkness. We got out of the car one time and walked around by a small shack, and when we were walking back to the car, there was a skull, NOT HUMAN, don't worry, haha. But it was a deer skull, sitting on the ledge next to the car. I'll upload the picture that my friend took and sent to me from his phone in a few minutes.

But back to the point, I'll probably end up screaming like a girl on the tape, and I'll definitely upload whatever I record, whether it shows anything or not, just for the fun of it, and I'll be sure to post it here, so everybody can laugh at my friends and I screaming like girls.

The thing everyone is most excited about is that we finally convinced our friend, I'll call him B, to come with us. He claims to have a "6th sense" and almost faints whenever he goes somewhere and senses spirits. He vivids remembers as a kid, being about 7 or 8, walking upstairs and seeing a woman sitting down in his room. He also says he can sense the spirits/ghosts in our basements, since many of our houses are old and have had other owners before us. He said he'll try his best not to pass out when we go there tomorrow night.

Take along an electronic toy. I have heard that if there are unseen energies.....that the electric toy can become a connection device. A toy that activates maybe by movement. I have heard in some places...the toy will move even though nobody moved or activated it. Eeerie man!

Goodluck!

Have fun ghost hunting! Maybe you can capture some EVP's, too!
I love exploring cemeteries in the day. Haven't visited one at night for a long time. Hmmm........maybe my wife and I will go to the supposed haunted cemetery near here some night. I'll wait until it warms up, though. No need to go out in the cold and get even colder when a spirit shows up. And, yes, as another poster mentioned earlier, wear a hoodie. When you have your head and neck covered with a hood, a ghost can't get you from behind. True. I've never been caught by a ghost from behind when I wear a hoodie.
