With all the people talking about passing the current Health Care bill(s)...the bail-outs...the military spending, etc. I felt this link from Digg.com might be appropriate right now...for everyone...to get things into perspective.

Wow. What an eye-opening graphic.

I know for myself, hearing the words "billion" and "trillion" bantered about is almost meaningless. I mean, I know its a "lot of money" but I have nothing to compare it to, no basis for understanding.

This graphic really lets you see the difference between million, billion, and trillion.

S&F from me. Thanks for posting.

It is truly amazing to me how much a trillion dollars really is. So many people have become so flaccid (or dumb?) that the scope of this government's spending isn't even a reality for most. It would be nice (and probably scary) to see such a comparison in every discussion of expenditures. Maybe a simple black and red square showing what percentage of a trillion each item discussed actually looks like. Maybe we would all think about it a little more when we approve such things.

Or better yet...a time-line type scale showing how long it will take to actually pay for the "service"...including interest.

You know...start the time-line with TODAY on the left, scale it by years (or decades)...through CHILDREN, GRANDCHILDREN, etc. until it is paid off.
