All the hams I've bought in the last two years in Australia have been dry and woody. I was wondering what the matter was.

I had one good one. I complained to Mayfair about a particularly inedible leg of ham and they came to my door with a replacement. This replacement was moist and delicious. And there was one other. My daughter works in advertising and a firm that produces hams gave her the best one I've ever tasted.

So obviously the firms producing this stuff know something's going on, to know which ones to impress with and which to sell to a busy supermarket.

surely it has be better for them than amaretto

No, arsenic is tasteless.
- I know, because my mother used to feed it to me.

Cyanide smells and tastes like bitter almonds.

The reason they attack with the intent of discrediting B17/laetrile/amygdalin(e) is because it contains Cyanide naturally.

Any thoughts?

So long as we are willing to let the government dictate what is "safe" or "effective" we live within their grip.

My food only comes from local producers with whom I am familiar.

Did you know that you can go to a local meat market or "locker plant" and buy your flesh, if that is your preference? Did you know that you can go to a local "farmers' market" and get your veggies and fruit?

If you trade locally, you will get to know who your food comes from and how it is produced. I've had many enlightening lunches and breakfasts with nearby producers who value my trade and who are more than eager to discuss what they see as the problems with "corporate food."

There are alternatives to living as you're told to. Self-reliance rarely fails, and you always know exactly who to blame.

People need to take control of their lives and livelihoods, or they get what they deserve.

(By the way, the best tasting and most nutritious hot dogs I've ever eaten DID NOT come from Oscar Meyer, but from "Handler's" Wahoo, Nebraska locker plant.)

deny ignorance

My best hot dogs were the ones we made up last year after deer hunting. We made 3 different levels of spicy hot dogs. MMM good. The spiciest are a little too hot for me.

The funnest part is separating the sheep intestines that are used as the casing.

Ever tried to untangle a wet ball of twine? About the same thing.

I've never made my own sausage before. Always relied on a local butcher, in exchange for a portion of what we brought in. I've seen my grandmother and aunts do it, though, and I'd rather not work that hard. (My uncle had a little smokehouse for all types of meat, and it was well-used. (one of my favorite hiding places as a kid))

Except, we made tamales from javelina and white-tail doe after our Nov. trip to our lease outside Freer, in So.Texas. Had to add a lot of fat to the naturally lean meat, but they were among the best I'd ever tasted. Lot's of work, but sometimes there's no alternative.

As for casings, running water makes it easier so they are semi- "inflated."

Funny how 100 years ago, it was "normal" to eat food like this; yet, now that we've "modernized," no one remembers and everyone's getting poisoned.

I remember celebrating Easter at my relatives' place in Uvalde where we butchered a young goat ("cabrito") and several chickens. (That "running around like a chicken with its head cut off," saying is based in truth!).

We still butcher and freeze or barbecue Barbado sheep, turkeys, geese, duck, and a variety of other animals. I do not worry about what went in them, 'cause I fed them myself; a lot of it from stuff I grew. (These do not live in cages, they range our property, and come in for food at least 2X each day.)

And I'm basically a "city boy."

Best fish I've ever eaten was fileted live, straight from the Colorado River, and sauteed in a skillet over a fire. Best fowl were dove and pheasant taken hunting in Texas and Nebraska.

So sad to see how "helpless" we've become and how dependent upon people and corps. who do not give a rat's ass about us or our health.

Bottom line is, though: You get what you ask for.

Very good point! ALL companies had to have been started by a human being, therefore that person (or whoever buys the business from that person) NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE for the actions of the company!

I am so sick and tired of how no one ANYwhere wants to take responsibility for themselves- or admit when they are wrong- OR simply be an honest person. These qualities are very hard to find in most people, which has a lot to do with all of today's problems, I'm sure.

I wouldn't put it past the Fraud and Death Administration to allow another poison to enter the market. Let's face it, thanks to our government:

The food we eat is poisoned.

The ground we grow on is poisoned.

The water we drink is poisoned.

The air we breathe is poisoned.

They even have poisoned the majority of peoples' minds/thoughts!

So... what can we do other than educate ourselves and try to remain as poison-free as possible? Even with all of this pollution in our lives, we STILL are capable of achieving great things, which is why I still haven't lost hope in mankind.

As for all this depopulation of the nation's I have just come to the conclusion that those of us that are aware we could be the possible 500,000,000 that survive on yet at the same time the reason the government doesn't send out all their agents to wipe us truth seeker's all out is because they will use us to make us look like the liar's and pigs of the system when the rest of the masses the majority will perish and then their will be us that they will take care of later whether its to enslave us for a new world order agenda or trade us off.

That's your intake on this whole thing? Get a clue buddy. If you haven't figured out yet Canada and US are one in the same. I live in Alberta basically the 51st state...where US gets most of it's energy from.

I can absolutely take interest in anyones Government especially when it is the one that basically controls the entire world. How about you mind your business and only worry about people from US? Good attitude there....

Useless people...

I am glad there is only one of the bunch.

So you're so obsessed with the US that you completely ignore the same issue in your own country, and simply dismiss it as being "oh, Canada does it because the US does it".

You have a serious case of USophobia, we really aren't THAT interesting OR powerful I assure you.

By the way, pretty childish response to some mild leg slapping.

I just thought the way you approached the subject was a little strange. I am not obsessed with the US. I was bringing the article to you and supplying you with information and yet you just tell me I should worry about Canada.

Canada is bad in that we have things that should not be approved here but we follow the United states lead in the situation. Not all the time but most. I was just bringing something to the world's, not just US citizens attention.

Next time I will title the thread differently to accommodate you...

Do you know what the most disgusting thing is?

I am not 100% sure if you have them in the states but I am pretty sure.

They are Flintstone vitamins for children, they taste great but they have aspartame in them. I used to give my kids one a day like it says until I read the label one day. Who puts aspartame in children's vitamins?

Good thing I only gave them to my children for a day or two.

How can flintstones vitamins be a good pill?

Is Bayer, the manufacturer poisoning children now?

I checked the ingredients list and look what I found. Those stuff would cancel all the good effects of the vitamins and minerals...

-Artificial Flavors
-Aspartame
-FD&C Red #40 Aluminum Lake
-FD&C Yellow #6 Aluminum Lake
-FD&C Blue #2 Aluminum Lake
-Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil (Soy, Castor) - basically admitting presence of trans fat

Contains: Soy.

Phenylketonurics: Contains phenylalanine.

It is crazy the crap that is in there.

But not that I thought it was a good pill but most people would think so. I had them because they were vitamins. And hey, I didn't buy them my wife did.

It is just most people do not read labels and are giving their children vitamins in an innocent manner, but poisoning them in the process.

Yes, I didn't say you claimed that(good pill), Bayer's advertising sector did.

But yes, do check the labels.

Let me tell you a little talked about "secret", but important one.

Depending on the country, the law allows food manufacturers to not disclose/LIE the trans fat content if it falls below 0.3 gram per serving.

So, you might read the ingredient list, and see "hydrogenated X fat/oil", where the "nutrition facts table" says 0.0 grams per serving.

Malicious product advertising right under the consumer's eyes, a lie allowed by "LAW".

..but ask me how to solve it, I dont know..but Im willing to try!

That's simple. Stop shopping in supermarkets. Buy from local organic farmers only, even if you have to travel and even if it is 10x more expensive.

Support those that are working their ass off to support us!

It's really not that complicated and if you live in the US, it shouldn't be too difficult either.

edit to add: if you have a garden, plant a veggie patch and a few berry bushes

The FDA serves to the biggest Bidder or should I say “donator” squander small companies, but bowing to the huge pharmaceutical mafias. There are hundreds of good alternative health and food supplements that can be give to animals as well as humans, but unless you have 5-10 Million dollars to do clinical research on just one product you SOL
