NORTH DALLAS - A Dallas police officer shot a suspect inside a 19-story high-rise office building just before 10:30 a.m. Monday morning. At least two other victims were injured in addition to the suspect. No officers were hurt.
The shooting happened at 12222 Merit Drive near the Central Expressway and Coit Road. The building is also known as Four Forest.
Sources tell News 8 that a victim called 911 saying he or she had been shot inside Suite 310 on the third floor. An investment firm named Smith Financial Group, Inc. is listed inside that suite according to the Dallas Central Appraisal District.
When Dallas Police officers arrived at the scene, gunshots could be heard in the background of their radio transmissions as they called for back-up.
Police said the suspect was shot. The extent of his injuries is unknown.
The identities and injuries of the two other victims are also unknown.
All the offices inside the 19-story building remained in lockdown for more than an hour.
News 8 has multiple crews at the scene.
The motive remains unclear.

COMMERCE, Texas — Authorities say a suspected gunman has been killed and an off-duty officer injured in a shootout outside a Walmart store in the East Texas town of Commerce.
Commerce spokeswoman Marty Cunningham says the incident Sunday began when police received a call of shots being fired from a car in the nearby town of Greenville, about 50 miles northeast of Dallas.
Cunningham says the suspect exchanged gunfire with Commerce police just outside the city limits, before driving to the Walmart.
Cunningham says the suspect entered the store carrying "a long gun and a pistol." She says an off-duty officer, Paul Robertson, from another agency followed the suspect out of the store, and tried to detain him, at which point, shots were fired and the suspect was killed.
.
According to police, an armed man shot a 63-year-old father and his 39-year-old son at a business they own on the third floor. He also pointed his gun at arriving police, who fired at him and missed.
"Officers got there right on time, confronted the suspect. There were some shots exchanged," Dallas Police Lt. Andrew Harvey said.
The suspect then shot himself, Harvey said. He is now in "very critical" condition at an area hospital, according to Harvey. The victims are both in stable condition, he said.
Harvey said the shooting was planned. "This is not a random offense. They were targeted. The suspect knew both of the victims," Harvey said.
